Abstract

Paloh Naga Agrotourism is a popular destination for domestic and foreign tourists. Data from the Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) shows a decrease in the number of visits during the period 2021 to 2024. This study aims to apply a fuzzy matrix model with the CETD (Combined Effective Time Dependent Data) method in analyzing tourist motivation and identifying the most significant motivational factors based on age group. The analysis results show that intellectual factors are dominant in the 15-17 age group. Social factors have a strong influence on the 26-30 age group, at the age of 18-25 the influence of social factors decreases and continues to decline in the 36-60 age group. Competence factors have an influence at the age of 15-17 and lose their influence at the age of 18-30 years. The relaxation factor had a significant influence on the 15-17 age group, especially for the need to escape from daily activities, and for the 26-30 age group the relaxation factor was irrelevant. These insights provide valuable implications that tourism managers tailor to the needs of each age group. Future research could extend the analysis with other demographic variables or advanced quantitative approaches.

Abstract

The development of personal potential, understanding the urgency of science, and values of loyalty to the roles and responsibilities of students are important components in shaping character and individual competencies in higher education. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of a student leadership development training programme integrated with an approach that strengthens personal potential, mastery of science, and values of loyalty in improving the cognitive and affective competencies of participants. The research method employs a quantitative approach with a one-group pre-test and post-test design involving 90 students as respondents. Evaluation instruments consisting of pre-tests and post-tests were analysed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test, paired sample t-test, and one-sample t-test. The analysis results indicate that the data is normally distributed (p = 0.200), there was a significant difference between pre-test and post-test scores (t = -9.401, p = 0.000), and post-test scores were also significantly higher than the reference value (t = 3.933, p = 0.000), with an average increase of 19.83 points. These findings indicate that training that integrates aspects of self-potential, knowledge, and student loyalty values is proven to be effective in significantly improving understanding and skills.
