Abstract

Plastic waste has become an urgent environmental issue in Indonesia. This study aims to identify innovative practices implemented by food and beverage companies in Indonesia in managing plastic packaging waste, thereby serving as a reference for other companies and policymakers. This research provides an empirical contribution to understanding waste management efforts as part of corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitments. The methodology employed a qualitative approach through document analysis, involving an in-depth examination of CSR reports from companies during the 2021–2023 period. Data validity and reliability were ensured through triangulation with other relevant sources, such as sustainability reports and related publications. The analysis revealed that through technological innovation, strong partnerships, and a commitment to sustainable practices, companies successfully reduced plastic waste by up to 30% while expanding networks of Waste Banks, the Green Warmindo Program, and the Drop Box Program. Collaborations through PRAISE and IPRO have also proven effective in raising public awareness and enhancing waste management efficiency, providing valuable guidance for other companies to adopt more responsible practices. The findings of this study have significant implications for the development of more comprehensive waste management policies and encourage collaboration among governments, industries, and communities to achieve sustainable development goals.

Abstract

This research investigates the internal resistance and capacitance characteristics of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries utilizing an equivalent circuit model based on resistor-capacitor (RC) networks. The growing integration of batteries in diverse applications, including electric vehicles and renewable energy systems, necessitates robust battery health monitoring strategies. This work employs current and voltage data acquired during battery discharge, subsequently analyzed using MATLAB 2023b software to determine the pertinent RC parameters. A third-order Equivalent Circuit Model (ECM) of RC, comprising three RC pairs, is implemented to enhance the precision of parameter estimation. The results demonstrate a strong correlation between the number of RC pairs and the accuracy of dynamic battery response representation. A higher-order model generally yields more precise estimations of battery performance. However, increasing model complexity can lead to overfitting, potentially diminishing the model's ability to accurately reflect actual battery behavior. This study contributes significantly to the understanding of LiFePO4 battery internal characteristic modeling and underscores the importance of balancing model fidelity with computational complexity.

Abstract

Computer vision-based Human Activity Recognition (HAR) systems hold significant potential for applications in educational settings, particularly for monitoring student activities in laboratories or classrooms. Activities such as typing, smartphone usage, and resting are often visually indistinguishable due to their highly similar seated postures. This study proposes a spatiotemporal modeling approach to automatically and non-invasively recognize such activities. Body poses are extracted from video streams using MediaPipe Pose and represented as sequential feature vectors, which are then analyzed using a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) network to capture temporal dynamics. The model is trained on video data of students performing three primary activity classes. Evaluation on validation data demonstrates a classification accuracy of 98.48%, with average precision, recall, and F1-score values of approximately 98%. However, testing on unseen videos shows a decrease in accuracy to around 65%, primarily due to misclassification in segments with minimal movement. These findings suggest that the model is sensitive to subtle pose transitions, which are common in seated activity contexts. Overall, the proposed approach demonstrates promising potential for automated student activity monitoring and provides a foundation for developing pose-based behavioral analysis systems in contextual learning environments.

Abstract

This study explores corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and innovations in packaging waste management implemented by PT. Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk, one of Indonesia’s largest food and beverage companies. Amid rising concerns over plastic waste and its impact on marine ecosystems, the research examines how Indofood’s CSR programs—namely the Waste Bank Program, Green Warmindo Initiative, and Drop Box Program—contribute to sustainability and the circular economy. Employing a qualitative approach, the study uses document analysis of official CSR and sustainability reports from 2021 to 2023, complemented by cross-referenced data from industry publications and government policies. The findings reveal that Indofood successfully recycled over 1,000 tons of plastic waste within three years, increased public awareness of recycling practices, and strengthened community participation in waste management. Furthermore, its collaboration with PRAISE and IPRO underscores the company’s effort to establish an integrated waste management ecosystem aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 12 and 14. Despite significant progress, challenges remain in expanding program coverage, particularly in rural areas and regions with limited recycling infrastructure. The study concludes that corporate CSR can serve as a catalyst for environmental innovation, combining economic, social, and ecological objectives to promote sustainable industry transformation in Indonesia’s food and beverage sector.

Abstract

The rapid advancements in technology have significantly influenced the way individuals interact and meet their needs, pushing for the digital transformation of government operations, particularly in archiving. Despite the introduction of electronic archiving systems in government institutions, physical archiving still prevails, leading to inefficiencies. This study utilizes a normative juridical method, focusing on secondary data analysis from library research. It examines the legal frameworks surrounding electronic-based archiving in Indonesia’s public sector and evaluates its role in the government's digital transformation. The research identifies that while electronic archiving is increasingly recognized as an essential tool for government efficiency, its implementation remains optional rather than mandatory. The legal certainty surrounding digital archiving is still underdeveloped, particularly in areas related to the legality of digital documents and the transition from manual to digital processes. This paper suggests that the current regulations need to be revised, specifically those concerning financial accountability and governance, to better support the transition to a paperless system. The findings emphasize that enhancing legal clarity and updating the regulatory framework are key to fostering the adoption of electronic archiving systems, thus accelerating the government's move toward a fully digital administration.
