Abstract

Abstract. In Indonesia, the HIV-AIDS case is one of the sensitive issues in which the spread of this case continues to increase every year. The problems of people living with HIV-AIDS (PLWHA) consist of physical dimensions, economic dimensions, and social dimensions. A potential intervention model that can be done to help break the vicious circle for PLWHA sufferers is economic empowerment. So it is necessary to support microeconomic finance in carrying out conventional financial practices which can later have implications for health and economic success for PLWHA through collaboration. PLWHA faces conditions of disadvantage in the form of stigma, physical decline, and economic problems. For this reason, it is necessary to have an appropriate coping strategy from PLWHA in the form of empowering micro-business economies. The implementation of economic empowerment needs to require a good support system in the form of collaboration in which the family, government, and NGOs help carry out economic empowerment. The research method used is a literature review. The journal criteria that have been selected by researchers in this study discuss PLWHA, the existence of similarities in research in the form of coping strategies for economic empowerment, as well as being relevant and accredited. The results of the analysis identified PLWHA in overcoming the economic problems they face can be assisted through a coping strategy that focuses on problems (problem-focused coping) by involving collaborators in overcoming these problems through economic empowerment.Abstrak. Abstract

Copyright infringement on e-commerce platforms is a growing concern, especially with the unauthorized use of individuals' photos for commercial purposes. Eliska's case highlights the negative consequences of uploading product photos without permission, violating the moral and economic rights of the original owners. Indonesia's Copyright Law No. 28 of 2014 imposes serious legal sanctions on such violations, holding individuals and e-commerce platforms like Tokopedia accountable for monitoring and enforcing copyright rules. This research uses normative legal methods to analyze regulations, licensing, and copyright protection related to photography and portraits in e-commerce, focusing on Tokopedia. A descriptive-analytical approach is employed to explain legal regulations concerning copyright in product sales on the platform, with data collected through theoretical literature review, legislative analysis, and online studies. Findings indicate that copyright infringement on e-commerce platforms significantly impacts original owners and the integrity of online commerce. Eliska's case shows how unauthorized photo use can lead to financial loss and reputation damage. Law No. 28 of 2014 provides for criminal sanctions and fines for such violations, while e-commerce platforms must ensure compliance with copyright regulations. Legal certainty and collaboration between copyright owners and platforms are essential for a safe and fair online trading environment.

Abstract

Plastic waste has become an urgent environmental issue in Indonesia. This study aims to identify innovative practices implemented by food and beverage companies in Indonesia in managing plastic packaging waste, thereby serving as a reference for other companies and policymakers. This research provides an empirical contribution to understanding waste management efforts as part of corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitments. The methodology employed a qualitative approach through document analysis, involving an in-depth examination of CSR reports from companies during the 2021–2023 period. Data validity and reliability were ensured through triangulation with other relevant sources, such as sustainability reports and related publications. The analysis revealed that through technological innovation, strong partnerships, and a commitment to sustainable practices, companies successfully reduced plastic waste by up to 30% while expanding networks of Waste Banks, the Green Warmindo Program, and the Drop Box Program. Collaborations through PRAISE and IPRO have also proven effective in raising public awareness and enhancing waste management efficiency, providing valuable guidance for other companies to adopt more responsible practices. The findings of this study have significant implications for the development of more comprehensive waste management policies and encourage collaboration among governments, industries, and communities to achieve sustainable development goals.

Abstract

Students in the Social Welfare Science Program at Halu Oleo University face various challenges in developing communication skills, including low self-confidence, difficulty in active listening, and managing communication in complex situations. These obstacles can hinder their competencies as prospective professional social workers. This study aims to enhance students communication skills through webinar-based training that integrates theory and practice while evaluating its impact on four main aspects of communication skills. The training was conducted online using the Zoom platform, involving 73 students. Data were collected through pre-tests and post-test s to evaluate skill improvement using descriptive quantitative methods, while discussion and simulation results were qualitatively analyzed to complement the evaluation. The training showed significant improvement in all aspects of communication skills tested. An average increase of 30% was observed in understanding effective communication, self-confidence, active listening skills, and communication abilities in social case contexts, with active listening skills recording the highest increase of 28%. In conclusion, webinar-based training was effective in improving students communication competencies, demonstrating that integrating theory and simulation can bridge the gap between academic learning and practical application. Similar programs are recommended for integration into social education curricula and further research in more complex field contexts.

Abstract

This study explores corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives and innovations in packaging waste management implemented by PT. Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk, one of Indonesia’s largest food and beverage companies. Amid rising concerns over plastic waste and its impact on marine ecosystems, the research examines how Indofood’s CSR programs—namely the Waste Bank Program, Green Warmindo Initiative, and Drop Box Program—contribute to sustainability and the circular economy. Employing a qualitative approach, the study uses document analysis of official CSR and sustainability reports from 2021 to 2023, complemented by cross-referenced data from industry publications and government policies. The findings reveal that Indofood successfully recycled over 1,000 tons of plastic waste within three years, increased public awareness of recycling practices, and strengthened community participation in waste management. Furthermore, its collaboration with PRAISE and IPRO underscores the company’s effort to establish an integrated waste management ecosystem aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 12 and 14. Despite significant progress, challenges remain in expanding program coverage, particularly in rural areas and regions with limited recycling infrastructure. The study concludes that corporate CSR can serve as a catalyst for environmental innovation, combining economic, social, and ecological objectives to promote sustainable industry transformation in Indonesia’s food and beverage sector.

Abstract

The psychological impact of cyberbullying on new students in the Social Welfare Study Program at Universitas Halu Oleo is the main focus of this study. The purpose of this research is to understand how the experience of cyberbullying affects the mental well-being of students who are adapting to campus life. A qualitative approach with a phenomenological design was used, where data were collected through in-depth interviews with students who had been victims of cyberbullying. The findings of the study indicate that cyberbullying significantly impacts three key psychological aspects: anxiety, depression, and self-esteem. The majority of the students interviewed reported ongoing anxiety, worrying about further dissemination of personal information. Depression was also found to be a common impact, with students feeling a loss of motivation and isolation from their peers. Additionally, nearly all participants reported a significant decline in self-esteem after experiencing online bullying. Based on these findings, the study recommends developing cyberbullying prevention programs on campus and providing more accessible psychological support services. It is hoped that these efforts will help new students overcome the psychological effects of cyberbullying and enable them to navigate their transition to university life in a healthier social and academic environment.

Abstract

The rapid advancements in technology have significantly influenced the way individuals interact and meet their needs, pushing for the digital transformation of government operations, particularly in archiving. Despite the introduction of electronic archiving systems in government institutions, physical archiving still prevails, leading to inefficiencies. This study utilizes a normative juridical method, focusing on secondary data analysis from library research. It examines the legal frameworks surrounding electronic-based archiving in Indonesia’s public sector and evaluates its role in the government's digital transformation. The research identifies that while electronic archiving is increasingly recognized as an essential tool for government efficiency, its implementation remains optional rather than mandatory. The legal certainty surrounding digital archiving is still underdeveloped, particularly in areas related to the legality of digital documents and the transition from manual to digital processes. This paper suggests that the current regulations need to be revised, specifically those concerning financial accountability and governance, to better support the transition to a paperless system. The findings emphasize that enhancing legal clarity and updating the regulatory framework are key to fostering the adoption of electronic archiving systems, thus accelerating the government's move toward a fully digital administration.

Abstract

The rapid increase in internet use among elementary students has not been matched by adequate digital literacy, exposing them to risks such as cyberbullying, disinformation, and misuse of personal data. This study examined the effectiveness of the Safe Internet Education Program in enhancing students’ digital literacy in Palarahi Village, Southeast Sulawesi. Using a quasi-experimental one-group pre-test and post-test design, the program was implemented through eight interactive sessions involving 85 students from two public elementary schools. The results showed a significant improvement in digital literacy scores, increasing from a mean of 52.3 to 78.6 (p < 0.001) with a large effect size (Cohen’s d = 2.31). The proportion of students in the high literacy category rose from 4.7% to 85.9%, while those in the low category dropped to 0%. The greatest improvement occurred in personal data security, followed by information evaluation and digital communication. The study concludes that structured and participatory digital education can effectively strengthen children’s competence and online safety. This model offers a measurable framework to support the implementation of the National Digital Literacy Movement (#Siberkreasi) in rural and non-metropolitan areas.
