Abstract

This study evaluates the performance of zakat management by the National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) and the Muhammadiyah Zakat Institution (LAZISMU) using the SWOT analysis method. The findings reveal that BAZNAS has strengths in government legitimacy, resource access, and nationwide coverage, but faces challenges due to complex bureaucracy. In contrast, LAZISMU excels in flexibility and a community-based approach but encounters obstacles such as dependence on donations and income fluctuations. The SWOT analysis identifies the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of both institutions, which can be leveraged to formulate more effective zakat management strategies. The study also highlights the importance of data validity and reliability through method triangulation to ensure the findings reflect actual conditions. The qualitative approach provides in-depth insights into the dynamics of zakat management, the challenges, and the opportunities faced. Digital transformation and cross-sector collaboration play a crucial role in optimizing zakat's potential as an economic empowerment instrument. These findings are expected to support the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in poverty alleviationsv and reducing inequalities.

Abstract

Zakat is an important instrument in wealth redistribution and community empowerment in the context of Islamic economics. In this context, research on the management of zakat funds by the National Zakat Agency (BAZNAS) of Bogor City is very relevant. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of zakat fund management and its impact on community empowerment. The research methods used are qualitative and quantitative approaches, involving data collection through interviews, surveys, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that BAZNAS Bogor City has succeeded in managing zakat funds well. The significant allocation of funds for empowerment programs, such as skills training and business capital assistance, is one indicator of this success. For example, the sewing training program held by BAZNAS has helped many women in Bogor to acquire new skills, so that they can be financially independent and contribute to the family economy. However, the challenges faced by BAZNAS cannot be ignored. The lack of public awareness of the importance of zakat and transparency in fund management are issues that need to be addressed. Many residents still do not understand the benefits of zakat, so their participation in these programs is low. In addition, transparency in the use of zakat funds is also in the spotlight, because the community has the right to know how the funds they donate are used for the common good. To overcome these challenges, this study recommends increasing socialization of zakat, both through public campaigns and collaboration with various parties, including educational institutions and community organizations. By increasing public awareness and ensuring transparency in management, it is hoped that the positive impact of zakat management can be maximized.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Angka kemiskinan di Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat baik di perkotaan maupun di perdesaan mengalami sedikit kenaikan tingkat kemiskinan di perkotaan mengalami kenaikan persentase penduduk miskin di perdesaan juga mengalami kenaikan tahun 2022 sebesar 13,02 persen, total kenaiakan dari bulan juli sampai agustus adalah karena perekonomian Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat dihadapkan pada tekanan inflasi yang bersumber dari peningkatan harga komoditas global, khususnya energi dan pangan, Namun dibandingkan dengan banyak daerah lainnya. Dan pada tahun 2023 angka kemiskinan dikabupaten Sumbawa Barat mengalami penurunan data BPS Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat sebesar 12,95 persen penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis bagaimana mekanisme distribusi zakat konsumtif pada Baznas Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat dan bagaimana pengaruh distribusi zakat konsumtif terhadap pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar mustahik. distribusi zakat konsumtif berjalan dengan baik atau tidak dan untuk mengetahui pendistribusian zakat konsumtif yang diberikan dipergunakan untuk membeli kebutuhan sandang pangan mustahik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan menentukan jumlah sampling strata atau klaster, pentingnya studi ini dilakukan sehingga kita mengetahui berapa sampel yang akan kita jadikan bahan penelitian sehingga dengan sample ini kita bisa mengetahui hasil yang dicapai dalam penelitian dilaksananakan untuk mengtahui mekanisme pendistribusian zakat serta dampak zakat terhadap pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar mustahik, dengan adanya distribusi zakat konsumtif berpengaruh terhadap angka kemiskinan yang ada di Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat, sehingga baznas berperan dalam usaha pengentasan dan penanggulangan kemiskinan sesuai dengan tugas dan fungsi baznas. serta kesulitan apa yang akan didapat dalam penelitian ini dan jenis data yang akan disajikan dalam penelitian dan apabila penelitian ini berhasil dilakukan maka dapak yang diharapkan adalah bahwa dengan mekanisme, peran dan tata cara yang baik dalam mendistribusikan zakat akan berpengaruh pada pemenuhan kebutuhan dasar mustahik dan angka kemiskinan dapat diturunkan melalui pendistribusian zakat konsumtif pada Baznas Kabupaten Sumbawa Barat.
