Abstract

Nurses are at risk of experiencing various impacts due to work that affect their health. Nurses are at risk of experiencing mental health problems that can affect the quality of life and productivity of nurses, including burnout syndrome or mental fatigue. This study aims to identify the determinant factors associated with nurse burnout. This study used a cross-sectional design with 63 respondents using a purposive sampling method. Bivariate data analysis with chi square and multivariate with logistic regression. The results of the analysis show that most of the nurses experience burnout. Age, marital status and self-efficacy are significantly related to nurse burnout. Multivariate analysis showed self-efficacy (Exp(B) 0.029; 95% CI 0.004-0.197) as the most dominant factor causing nurse burnout. Nurses with low self-efficacy have a seven times higher risk of experiencing burnout than nurses who have high self-efficacy, but burnout is also influenced by other factors such as age and marital status. Future researchers are advised to consider other factors that can affect burnout so that they have different criteria and maximum research results

Abstract

This research evaluates the effectiveness of a family empowerment program in improving medication adherence among children undergoing treatment for pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) in Desa Pangkalan Benteng, Indonesia. The study integrates qualitative and quantitative methods to assess the impact of a training program to increase family knowledge about TB and its treatment regimen. The results demonstrate a significant improvement in family knowledge and children's adherence to their treatment schedule after receiving education on medication management, side effect handling, and emotional support. The findings emphasize the critical role of family involvement in ensuring that children complete their treatment regimens and suggest that comprehensive family education programs can enhance treatment outcomes. The study highlights the potential of family-centered interventions in pediatric TB care and provides recommendations for expanding such programs to other chronic diseases.

Abstract

Menarche, or a girl’s first menstrual period, is a significant milestone in adolescent development. However, for many young girls, this event is accompanied by anxiety, fear, and confusion due to a lack of appropriate education and open discussion. This study evaluates the effectiveness of the educational comic book "Happy to Welcome Menarche" as a media tool to reduce anxiety and improve understanding of menstruation among girls aged 9–12. The research utilized a pre-posttest design with a sample of elementary school students. Results showed a significant decrease in anxiety levels after reading the comic, with average scores dropping from 3.8 to 2.4 on a 5-point Likert scale (p-value = 0.001). The comic was praised for its engaging visuals, simple language, and relatable narrative, which together made complex topics easier to understand. In addition to its educational impact, a structured marketing strategy using social media, school collaborations, and health institutions was found to be effective in reaching the target audience. This study demonstrates that educational comics are a powerful, child-friendly medium for delivering reproductive health education and reducing psychological distress related to menarche.
