Abstract

One form of implementation of technology and digitalization in education is integrating social media sites such as TikTok Edu into the education curriculum. In addition to functioning as entertainment, this software provides students with an engaging and dynamic learning tool. The purpose of this study was to analyze how the use of the TikTok Edu application and the participatory role of students contribute to improving their academic abilities in the context of the Independent Curriculum. With a survey methodology involving 200 students, this study used quantitative techniques. Using a multiple linear regression approach, the survey measured how much students utilize TikTok Edu and actively participate in education. The study results show that using the TikTok Edu application significantly improves students' understanding of academic material because this platform provides a more interactive, interesting learning method based on students' learning styles in the digital era. Students' active participation in learning through online discussions, collaboration in creating educational content, or reflection on the material presented also improves their understanding and academic achievement. Based on these findings, the study recommends the broader use of TikTok Edu in the world of education as a supporting tool in the implementation of the Independent Curriculum, which emphasizes student independence in determining the most effective way of learning for them, increasing creativity in absorbing and conveying information, and encouraging active participation in various learning activities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of cognitive load and learning fatigue on students' success in solving Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions. Mental fatigue due to extensive and rigorous learning is known as learning fatigue, while cognitive load refers to the mental stress experienced by students when absorbing new material. This study used an experimental and quantitative technique. For this study, 120 students were used, half in the control group and the other half in the experimental group. Data were collected through cognitive load surveys, HOTS tests, and learning fatigue. The study's findings showed a correlation between cognitive load and students' performance on the HOTS test. Critical thinking and analytical skills, essential for answering HOTS questions, were often lacking in students with high cognitive load. Another factor that decreased students' efficacy in solving problems was learning fatigue. When students do not get enough sleep or do not spend enough time studying, they become mentally exhausted and lose focus more easily. This fatigue reduces their ability to persist in working on challenging tasks. As a result, students have difficulty applying their information in a higher and more integrated context, even though their knowledge is quite good. The importance of effectively managing cognitive load and learning regarding students' effectiveness in solving HOTS problems cannot be overstated.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi unsur-unsur etnomatematika yang terdapat dalam Rumah Adat Honai Papua berdasarkan enam aktivitas dasar matematika menurut Bishop, yaitu counting, locating, measuring, designing, playing, dan explaining. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan jenis eksploratif, dan dilaksanakan di Lembah Baliem, Kabupaten Jayawijaya, Provinsi Papua Pegunungan. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi nonpartisipatif, wawancara semi terstruktur, dan dokumentasi visual, yang dianalisis secara interaktif melalui proses reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa unsur-unsur matematika yang ditemukan mencakup praktik menghitung bahan bangunan (counting), penentuan orientasi rumah (locating), pengukuran ruang dan bentuk (measuring), desain geometris atap dan lantai (designing), kegiatan sosial dalam rumah (playing), serta penjelasan simbolik bentuk rumah yang berkaitan dengan nilai sosial dan budaya lokal (explaining). Temuan ini memperkuat bahwa etnomatematika tidak hanya menjembatani antara konsep abstrak dan pengalaman nyata, tetapi juga menjadi sarana pelestarian budaya lokal dalam konteks pendidikan matematika.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat pembelajaran matematika berbasis etnomatematika dengan mengaitkan unsur budaya Papua, khususnya rumah adat Honai, ke dalam materi geometri. Metode yang digunakan adalah R&D dengan model pengembangan 4-D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Produk yang dihasilkan meliputi Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP), Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS), serta instrumen evaluasi yang dirancang sesuai kebutuhan peserta didik dan kurikulum yang berlaku. Subjek penelitian mencakup guru dan siswa Madrasah Aliyah di Kabupaten Jayapura, sementara pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, tes, dan angket. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran memperoleh tingkat validitas sebesar 82,38 (kategori sangat valid) menurut para ahli, tingkat kepraktisan 89,43 (sangat praktis) berdasarkan respon guru dan siswa, serta efektivitas dengan 86,21% siswa mencapai ketuntasan belajar. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa integrasi budaya lokal ke dalam pembelajaran matematika dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep, keterlibatan, serta motivasi siswa. Selain itu, penerapan model pembelajaran TTW turut mendorong keterampilan berpikir kritis, kemampuan berdiskusi, dan keteraturan dalam menuliskan ide matematis. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran berbasis etnomatematika Papua, khususnya melalui konteks rumah Honai, layak digunakan pada pembelajaran matematika di Madrasah Aliyah. Tidak hanya mendukung peningkatan hasil belajar, perangkat ini juga berfungsi dalam pelestarian budaya, penguatan identitas lokal, serta pencapaian tujuan pendidikan kontekstual. Dengan demikian, etnomatematika dapat menjadi salah satu pendekatan inovatif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran matematika berbasis budaya. Sebagai rekomendasi, penelitian selanjutnya disarankan untuk mengembangkan perangkat serupa pada materi dan jenjang pendidikan lain, memperluas uji coba ke berbagai daerah di Papua, memanfaatkan media digital berbasis etnomatematika, serta mengkaji dampak jangka panjang penerapannya terhadap minat belajar, keterampilan abad 21, dan pelestarian budaya lokal.
