Abstract

Marriage is a sacred bond between a man and a woman that allows both parties to live together. Marriage is not only recommended by religion but is also important for a prosperous life. Marriage has a significant contribution in the personal and social development of individuals as well as in the formation of a harmonious family. Marriage is often a challenge for women as they have to balance the demands of being financially and psychologically independent with new responsibilities as partners and parents. There has been a tendency for a fairly drastic decline in marriage rates in recent years. This research focuses on the reasons or factors that influence women to postpone marriage in Indonesia. The research method used is scientific literature review research, namely reviewing and describing several articles that are accurate and relevant to the same research topic. From the research result, the factors that women delay marriage include prioritizing higher education levels, family factors, lack of mental readiness for marriage, concerns about financial conditions, fear of the risk of divorce, changes in thought patterns and the increasingly rapid influence of globalization

Abstract

Abstract Quarter life crisis is a psychological condition commonly experienced by individuals aged between 18 and 25 years, particularly university students who are in the transitional phase toward adulthood. This study aims to explore the various factors that underlie the emergence of quarter life crisis among students. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through in-depth interviews with five informants who had previously experienced such a crisis. The findings indicate that the quarter life crisis is influenced by both internal and external factors. Internal factors include unmet expectations, self-doubt, and uncertainty about the future. On the other hand, external factors involve social pressure related to questions about graduation and employment, exposure to idealized lifestyles on social media, the fast-paced demands of modern life, and cultural expectations from family and peers. These pressures trigger anxiety, social comparison, and emotional instability. The study concludes that the quarter life crisis is a complex and multidimensional experience shaped by various aspects of a young adult's life. Understanding these factors is essential for promoting effective coping strategies and strengthening social support for students facing this stage.
