Abstract

This study examines how Artificial Intelligence (AI) empowers female students within online educational systems, particularly in developing contexts. With the growth of e-learning, AI offers transformative opportunities to enhance educational access, engagement, and overcome traditional barriers. A cross-sectional survey was conducted with 110 female students from medical, computer science, education, and economics disciplines. Data were gathered through Likert scale and open-ended questions, focusing on AI use, learning experiences, and adoption barriers. Descriptive statistics analyzed the results, revealing that AI significantly enhances educational access and motivation among female students. However, technical issues and cultural constraints remain major challenges. The study concludes that while AI has strong potential to empower women in education, addressing these barriers is essential for wider, equitable adoption

Abstract

The advancement of online educational platforms offers promising opportunities for improving educational access and empowerment, particularly for women in Afghanistan, where traditional barriers often limit their participation in formal education. This study aims to examine how online learning contributes to the educational attainment, skill development, and socio-economic empowerment of Afghan women, while also exploring the challenges they face in utilizing these platforms. A quantitative survey method was employed, gathering responses from 150 female students enrolled in an online university across four faculties: Medical, Computer Science, Education, and Economics. The participants, aged between 20 and 25 years, provided insights into their experiences with online education through structured questionnaires utilizing a 5-point Likert scale. Results reveal that a significant majority of participants acknowledged the positive impact of online platforms on their academic knowledge and skills. However, challenges such as limited internet access and inadequate digital devices were commonly reported, posing barriers to full participation. Furthermore, many women expressed increased confidence and empowerment from engaging in online education, with opportunities emerging for entrepreneurship and digital work. Cultural and family expectations were also identified as factors restricting the full benefits of online learning for some participants.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on women’s empowerment, addressing the pressing problem of gender inequality in various sectors. With the rapid advancement of AI technologies, understanding their role in enhancing women's access to education, safety, and leadership opportunities has become essential. The primary purpose of this research is to explore the perceptions of female students at an online women’s university regarding AI's potential benefits and challenges in promoting empowerment. Employing a quantitative research methodology, a structured questionnaire was distributed to 160 female participants across various faculties. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical techniques, revealing significant insights into the participants' attitudes towards AI. The results indicate a generally positive perception of AI, with many participants recognizing its potential to improve educational opportunities, enhance online safety, and support women's leadership in technology. However, there are notable concerns regarding the accessibility and implementation of AI, suggesting the existence of barriers that may hinder its effectiveness. In conclusion, this study underscores the importance of addressing these barriers to maximize AI’s benefits for women. By fostering an inclusive approach to AI development and deployment, stakeholders can create an environment that empowers women, thereby contributing to the overall goal of gender equality in the digital age.
