Abstract

Abstract

Digital transformation in education has driven the adoption of technologies to enhance student engagement and understanding. Augmented Reality (AR) is one such rapidly growing technology, offering immersive and visual learning experiences through 3D objects. When combined with digital flipbooks, AR creates flexiblity, particularly suitable for elementary students. AR flipbooks are seen as promising tools, blending interactive visuals with the familiar digital book. However, their effectiveness must be evaluated from the user’s perspective, especially students as end-users. This study aims to assess the usability of AR flipbooks using the USE instrument (Usefulness, Ease of Use, Ease of Learning, Satisfaction). A descriptive quantitative method was applied to 13 students from SDN 10 Tanjungpinang Kota. The results revealed that usefulness and ease of learning significantly influenced student satisfaction. These findings suggest that the more beneficial and easy-to-understand the media is perceived by students, the higher their satisfaction in using AR flipbook learning tools.

Abstract

Land cover changes reflect the pressure of development and increased human activities that have an impact on environmental imbalance. As a strategic coastal city, Tanjungpinang faces challenges in maintaining the sustainability of its regional ecosystem. This study aims to analyze the dynamics of land cover changes and predict their conditions until 2043 using remote sensing technology and geographic information systems (GIS), incorporating Cellular Automata and logistic regression methods. The results of the study showed that land cover changes between 2003 and 2023 increased built-up area by 27.15 km² and decreased Vegetation by 14.02 km². Bare Land increased by 1.45 km² at the beginning of the period, then reduced to a total of 12.74 km². Water bodies decreased by 0.39 km². Predictions for 2043 indicate that built-up area increased by 5.12 square kilometres, while Vegetation decreased by 6.33 square kilometres. Bare land increased by 1.34 km², while water bodies declined by 0.14 km². This pattern indicates a trend of converting vegetative land into built-up areas due to the increasing demand for regional space.

Abstract

The implementation of blue economy policies in Tanjungpinang City, the capital of Riau Islands Province, aims to foster sustainable urban development by leveraging marine and coastal resources. This study explores the potential and opportunities of blue economy principles to enhance economic growth, social welfare, and environmental sustainability. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the research evaluates local government policy documents and collaborates with industry stakeholders to assess the impact of these policies. Findings reveal that Tanjungpinang’s strategic maritime location supports significant fishery production (118,661 tons in 2023) and tourism growth, creating jobs and reducing coastal poverty. Key programs include sustainable marine resource management, fishery processing industry development, human resource capacity building, market access optimization, eco-friendly infrastructure, and environmental policy enforcement. These initiatives promote ecological sustainability, economic value, and social inclusivity. However, challenges such as limited processing scales, resource continuity, and environmental pollution persist. The study underscores the need for coordinated governance, technological investment, and community participation to ensure long-term benefits. Tanjungpinang’s blue economy model offers a replicable framework for sustainable urban development in coastal regions.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is rapidly advancing and has been applied across various fields, including education. However, high school students' understanding of AI remains limited. To address this, a community service activity in the form of an Inspiration Class was held at SMA Islam De Green Camp Tanjungpinang on June 4, 2025. This activity aimed to introduce the basic concepts of AI and its application in solving everyday problems. The activity employed an educational and participatory method, including interactive presentations, discussions, Q&A sessions, and simple simulations. The session was delivered by lecturers from Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji (UMRAH) and attended by 51 students. The material covered the definition of AI, examples of its implementation, and its role in modern life particularly in education, healthcare, and the environment. The results showed that students were enthusiastic and actively engaged in discussions. They began to understand the basic concepts of AI and how the technology can be used as a tool for problem-solving. This activity successfully sparked interest, curiosity, and critical thinking among students regarding technological developments.
