Abstract

A maximum Fine aggregate is one of the main components in concrete mixtures, playing a crucial role in improving density, strength, and workability in construction materials. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of fine aggregate from Tuke Nikit sand based on ASTM C33 standards, including tests for silt content, moisture content, specific gravity, water absorption, and particle gradation. The test results indicate that the average silt content is 1.73%, which is below the maximum limit of 3–5% according to ASTM C117. The average moisture content is 2.35%, which may affect the water-cement ratio in concrete mixtures. The average specific gravity is 2.35, which falls within the normal range; however, the high water absorption rate (7.43%) indicates a relatively high porosity. Gradation analysis shows that the sand meets ASTM C33 specifications and is classified as well-graded, making it suitable for use in building construction. Based on these findings, Tuke Nikit sand can be recommended as a viable fine aggregate for concrete mixtures, although moisture content and porosity control are necessary to maintain construction quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the trip generation of students traveling to the campus of the Catholic University of Indonesia Santu Paulus Ruteng using a multiple linear regression statistical approach. Trip generation is a crucial aspect of transportation planning, especially in higher education areas with high mobility intensity. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 1,035 students from various study programs, determined using the Slovin formula with a 10% margin of error. This research examines respondent characteristics based on gender, mode of transportation, travel time, and the number of trips to campus per day. The results show that the most commonly used mode of transportation is motorcycles (42%), with the majority of students (63%) taking less than 15 minutes to reach campus, and 64% making only one trip per day. Regression analysis reveals that the number of classrooms and the campus land area simultaneously have a significant effect on the number of daily student trips, with an R Square value of 0.820. The t-test indicates that the number of classrooms has a significant positive effect, while the land area has a significant negative effect on trip frequency. These findings suggest that high academic activity, reflected in the number of classrooms, is the primary driver of student mobility. This study provides valuable input for data-driven campus transportation policy, which can be used to design an efficient, safe, and sustainable transportation system for the academic community.

Abstract

Abstract: Measurement and mapping are crucial aspects in various field practices, such as construction, agriculture, forestry, mining, and spatial planning. This aims to support the development of the modern era, which demands accurate measurement and mapping. The basic training of measurement and mapping using waterpass aims to improve students' understanding of the concept and technique of measuring height accurately. This activity was carried out at SMK Bina Kusuma Ruteng majoring in DPIB (Building Modeling and Information Design) which was attended by grade XI students. The method used in this community service is lectures and direct experiments on students. The result of this activity is to be able to improve students' skills in conducting basic training in measurement and mapping using waterpass as much as 75% which is measured through evaluation through postest. This training is proven to improve the competence of DPIB students, preparing them to face challenges in the world of work, especially in the field of measurement and construction.
