Abstract

This study aims to analyze the madrasah exam questions based on the level of thinking of students. The discussion in this study includes the level of effectiveness of the sentences in the questions, the validity of the questions, the reliability and level of difficulty, the discriminating power index, the effectiveness of deceptive items and grouping questions based on the thinking levels of Order Thinking Skills (LOTS), Middle Order Thinking Skills (MOTS), and Higher Order. Thinking Skills (HOTS). The research conducted included descriptive research types of document analysis. The documents analyzed were grid documents, Indonesian language madrasa exam questions at MTsN 1 Garut which consisted of 35 multiple choice questions and 5 descriptions and answer sheets for examinees. The results obtained based on the research that has been done are as follows. First, the sentences used in the Indonesian language madrasa exam questions at MTsN 1 Garut already use effective sentences. Second, the validity of the questions shows that there are 23 valid questions and 17 invalid questions. Third, the reliability level of multiple choice questions is high, while the description questions are in the moderate category. Fourth, the difficulty level of the questions is 14 questions in the easy category, 4 questions in the medium category, and 14 questions in the high category. Fifth, the level of discrimination is 8 low categories, 18 medium categories, and 14 high categories. Sixth, the effectiveness of the distractor, as many as 15 questions function properly and 20 questions do not function properly. It contains 1 question in the Level Order Thinking Skills (LOTS) category, 19 questions in the Middle Order Thinking Skills (MOTS) category, and 20 questions in the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) category.

Abstract

Banyak sekali tanda yang diciptakan oleh masyarakat yang dapat diinterpretasikan dan diungkapkan. Tanda-tanda tersebut dapat berupa gambar, suara, gerakan, bahkan benda dan peristiwa tertentu. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori semiotika Roland Barthes pada 12 baliho calon presiden dan calon wakil presiden di kabupaten Garut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mendeskripsikan tanda yang terdapat pada baliho kandidat presiden dan wakil presiden di kabupaten Garut 2024, (2) mendeskripsikan interpretasi makna pada baliho kandidat presiden dan wakil presiden di kabupaten garut 2024. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode dan teknik kualitatif deskriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan: (1) adanya penggunaan tanda dan simbol yang merupakan bagian dari sistem yang digunakan untuk menyapaikan informasi. Tanda yang digunakan adalah tampilan yang terdapat dalam baliho seperti warna, foto calon presiden dan calon wakil presiden, atribut kampanye, logo partai politik ataupun komunitas, dan slogan atau tulisan; (2) pada setiap baliho yang didapatkan setiap pasangan calon presiden dan calon wakil presiden adanya berbagai tanda, slogan, atau tulisan, gambar dan warna yang mempunyai makna tersendiri.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the existence of gender inequality in literary works, which is often influenced by patriarchal culture. The novel Di Bawah Lindungan Ka'bah by Buya Hamka portrays the life of women within strong social and cultural constraints. This research aims to identify and describe the forms of gender injustice and feminist values contained in the novel. The study employs a qualitative descriptive method with a library research approach. Data were collected using a hermeneutic technique, involving reading, note-taking, and interpreting relevant excerpts related to feminist analysis. The results show that there are various forms of gender inequality experienced by female characters, such as restrictions on mobility through the seclusion tradition, limited access to education, and family dominance in determining marriage decisions. The character of Zainab is portrayed as a woman constrained by patriarchal social and cultural norms, limiting her autonomy in making life choices. The study also finds elements of liberal feminism that emphasize the importance of equal rights between men and women, particularly in social and educational aspects. In conclusion, the novel not only presents a romantic story but also reflects the social reality of women's position in society. This research is expected to contribute to the development of literary studies, especially in feminist literary criticism.
