Abstract

This study aims to analyze and explore how religious character education is integrated into the learning process at Miftahul Huda Tugu Agung Lempuing Private Junior High School. Religious character education plays an essential role in shaping students' morals and ethics and supporting the formation of a strong religious identity. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method to understand the curriculum implementation and extracurricular activities that support the integration of religious character education. Data were collected through interviews with teachers, the head of the school, and students, as well as direct field observations. The findings show that Miftahul Huda Private Junior High School integrates religious character education by incorporating religious values into every subject and through regular activities such as congregational prayers, Quran memorization (tahfidz), and religious study sessions. Although challenges exist in implementing this approach, such as limited resources and varying levels of student understanding, integrating religious character has proven effective in strengthening students' character development. This study is expected to contribute to developing more applicable and effective models of religious character education in madrasahs.

Abstract

Pendidikan modern sering memprioritaskan hasil kognitif daripada perkembangan moral, yang mengarah pada krisis moral masyarakat. Ayyuhā al-Walad karya Imam Al-Gazāli menawarkan kerangka kerja sufistik-etis untuk mengatasi kesenjangan ini dengan menekankan pemurnian hati (tazkiyat al-nafs) dan harmoni sosial. Studi ini mengkaji model pendidikan moral Al-Gawalli dan penerapannya dalam konteks multikultural Palembang, yang bertujuan untuk menghidupkan kembali nilai-nilai etika dalam pendidikan kontemporer. Dengan menggunakan penelitian perpustakaan kualitatif, penelitian ini menganalisis data primer dari Ayyuhā al-Walad dan sumber sekunder tentang sejarah sosial-budaya Palembang melalui metode deskriptif-analitis dan analisis konten. Tasawwuf akhlāqi-amali Al-Gazāli mengintegrasikan disiplin spiritual (mujāhadah) dan interaksi sosial etis, mendorong "nol konflik" di Palembang melalui lembaga-lembaga lokal seperti rumah guru dan masjid. Penelitian ini menganjurkan untuk menanamkan pendidikan moral berbasis Sufi dalam kurikulum modern untuk menumbuhkan individu yang seimbang dan bertanggung jawab secara sosial.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and examine the feasibility and effectiveness of a visual thinking-based learning strategy using digital infographics in teaching Islamic jurisprudence (fiqh) of prayer to second-grade elementary school students. The research was motivated by the limited ability of students to perform prayer movements sequentially and accurately, indicating a gap between memorization and procedural understanding. This study employed a mixed methods approach with Research and Development (R&D) using the ADDIE model, consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The subjects were second-grade students. Data were collected through needs analysis interviews, classroom observations, expert validation questionnaires, and pretest–posttest assessments. The developed product was validated by material and media experts to ensure content accuracy, visual clarity, and pedagogical appropriateness. The validation results indicated that the digital infographic media met the criteria of high feasibility. The effectiveness test demonstrated a significant improvement in students’ learning outcomes, as reflected in the gain score analysis between pretest and posttest results. The visual thinking strategy facilitated students’ comprehension by presenting prayer concepts in structured visual sequences, enabling better retention and procedural understanding. The integration of visual representation and digital media supports cognitive development at the concrete operational stage and enhances student engagement in religious learning. Therefore, the implementation of visual thinking through digital infographics can serve as an innovative and effective alternative strategy in Islamic religious education at the elementary school level, particularly in improving students’ practical understanding of prayer
