Abstract

Back pain is a common complaint in everyday life. Low back pain remains a major public health burden throughout the industrialized world. Epidemiological data showing low back pain ranks 19th with a percentage of 27% and a lifetime prevalence of 60%. Various data in several developing countries state that the incidence of low back pain is approximately 15-20% of the population, most of which are acute or chronic low back pain, including the benign type. Functional limitations include difficulty bending, walking for a long time, and sitting for a long time because of the pain. Assessment of signs and symptoms is very important to the planning and evaluation. Benefits for Academics This research is expected to add scientific insight to personnel who want to know about case reports of lumbar spondylosis in the elderly. Interviews were conducted by filling out a questionnaire with the researcher's guide. Exercise Performing exercises with the guidance of the researcher, which includes an operating system for physiotherapy intervention procedures. Case report The researcher conducted a literature review related to the combined exercise of lumbar spondylosis in the elderly.

Abstract

Background : Hernia Nucleus Pulposus (HNP) is a state when the nucleus pulposus go out stand out then push to direction canal spinalis through annulus torn fibrosus. HNP often occur on area lumbar 4 - 2 lumbar 5 and lumbar 5 - sacrum 1. Pain in HNP due to by pathological processes in the column vertebral on discus intervertebral. By because that, from a number of the research that we get, giving therapy McKenzie workout effective in reduce pain Hernia Nucleus Pulposus (HNP). Research Objective: To find out influence give therapy McKenzie's workout against Hernia Nucleus Pulposus Condition. Methodology : Overview systematic from three related articles with give therapy McKenzie training on Hernia Nucleus Pulposus Condition. Results : Therapy practice with McKenzie method can give significant effect to reduce painful on Hernia Nucleus Pulposus Condition. Conclusion : Giving therapy practice with McKenzie method is able give influence reduce pain due to a herniated nucleus pulposus .

Abstract

Elderly people will experience decreased function in the neurological, sensory and musculoskeletal systems. In the sensory system, elderly people can experience visual, vestibular and proprioceptive disorders. Balance is a complex interaction originating from several systems including the sensory system (visual, vestibular, somatosensory and proprioceptive) and the musculoskeletal system. Core stability exercise is an exercise aimed at the core muscles, namely the abdominal and lumbopelvic muscles, where these muscles function as active stability in the core area (lumbopelvic-hip complex). Strong core muscles can improve balance and stability. With good stability, the center of gravity (COG) can be maintained above the base of support (BOS). OBJECTIVE: To determine the effect of providing core stability exercise on improving balance in the elderly. METHODS: Two group pre and post test design with control using a simple random sampling technique of 60 subjects. The measuring instrument used is the Timed Up and Go Test (TUGT). This research was conducted for 4 weeks. RESEARCH RESULTS: This study used non-parametric tests so that the difference test between initial and final balance values in group I used Wilcoxon. The results of the initial and final balance difference test in group I obtained a value of p = 0.000, which means p < 0.05, so there is a significant difference in TUGT values before and after being given core stability exercise. It can be concluded that core stability exercise has an effect on improving the balance of the elderly. CONCLUSION: Providing core stability exercises can improve balance in the elderly. Based on p value = 0.000 (p < 0.05)

Abstract

Background: A sudden disruption of blood flow in the brain area is what causes the physical disease known as a stroke to occur. As well as showing symptoms of paralysis on one side of the body, weakness with varying degrees from weak to severe, accompanied by loss of sensation, failure of the coordination system, changes in walking patterns, and balance disorders, the Motor Relearning Program (MRP) is beneficial for the recovery of the patient's motor function. It is considered effective because it can encourage the development of cognition, association, and autonomic nerves and improve standing balance in post-stroke patients. Objective: To determine the effect of the motor relearning program on increasing daily activity in post-stroke patients. Method: The research uses a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test one-group design. There were 35 samples of research respondents who met the inclusion criteria by administering the research intervention, namely a frequency of twice a week for four weeks with an action time of 15 minutes. The instrument in this research used the Barthel index to measure the activity of daily living (ADL) carried out before and after the Motor Relearning Program (MRP). Results: The results of this study using the Wilcoxon test before and after treatment obtained a p-value of 0.000, meaning a p-value of 0.05, which means Ha was accepted. Conclusion: The motor relearning program influences increased daily activities in post-stroke patients.

Abstract

This study investigated the effects of Instrument-Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and massage therapy on reducing gastrocnemius muscle pain in 800-meter runners experiencing delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS). The primary objective was to compare the effectiveness of these two interventions in alleviating muscle pain. We conducted a quasi-experimental study with 40 athletes randomly assigned to either the IASTM or massage therapy group. Pain levels were measured using the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) before and after a 4-week intervention period. Results indicated that while neither intervention showed a statistically significant difference (p > 0.05), massage therapy provided a greater average pain reduction (4.0) compared to IASTM (3.5). This suggests that massage therapy may be slightly more effective for managing DOMS. Our research contributes to the field of sports medicine by providing evidence on the comparative effectiveness of IASTM and massage therapy, offering insights that can help optimize recovery strategies for athletes

Abstract

This article discusses the application of Total Quality Management (TQM) to improve the quality of educational institutions in higher education. To gather information, a library research method was used, involving the exploration of various sources from books, journals, printed materials, and electronic resources. Higher education institutions today are implementing TQM, a system initially used by businesses to enhance the quality of their products and their competitive edge. TQM encompasses four main components: input, process, output, and outcome, with an emphasis on the crucial role of human resources. The primary goal of TQM implementation is to shift from conventional management techniques to contemporary management, where decision-making is fact-based. TQM, therefore, serves as both a replacement for traditional quality assurance methods and as the foundation of quality management. In the context of educational services, client satisfaction forms the basis for fostering client loyalty and continued patronage.
