Abstract

Early Childhood Caries (ECC) is susceptible to children under the age of six, which is pre-school age. The impact of ECC hampers the comfort of eating, speaking, and self-esteem, and it may last until the age of 71 months. Mother has a central role in preventing it from happening, yet few of them are aware of their children's dental health. This research aims to evaluate the correlation factors of attitude and subjective norm towards the behavior of mother in preserving their children’s dental health at an early age. This study was performed with a cross-sectional approach, on the basis of the Theory of Planned Behavior. There were 305 mothers in seven Kindergartens in Bukittinggi city involved as respondents. The analysis of correlation was conducted with multivariate analysis using Regression ANOVA. Questionnaires were used to obtain the data. The research resulted in the attitude obtaining an average of 50.32 and the Standard Deviation (SD) of 8.447. Meanwhile, the average of the subjective norm variable is 148.03, and the SD is 22.638. The attitude has a p-value of 0.025 (p<0.05) and subjective norm with 0.156 (p>0.05). In conclusion, attitude correlates with the mother’s behavior of preserving their children’s dental health. Meanwhile, the subjective norm doesn’t correlate with behavior.

Abstract

of anxiety increases. As the number of elderly increases, it is very important to maintain the health of the elderly. Otherwise, it will result in the decreased physical condition, limited mobility, decreased independence, loss of self-confidence and decreased social activity. Knowing and controlling the causative factors of anxiety can be a solution to overcome anxiety in the elderly. This study aimed to measure the factors associated with the anxiety level of the elderly with chronic deseases in Sijunjung Regency. The design of this study was cross sectional approach and logistic multivariable regressions method. The samples were chosen by a cluster sampling technique with a total of 207 elderly with chronic diseases. The results showed that income, social support, social activities, and history of trauma had a significant relationship with the anxiety level of the elderly with chronic deseases and social support is the most dominant factor that related to. Thus, it was suggested to increase the nursing interventions with an approach family therapy to increase social support and it was focused on improving regular health screening so that the occurence of chronic deseases and anxiety in the elderly could be identified earlier.

Abstract

Generally, the patients will undergo the surgery will feel stress, both physical and psychological stress (anxiety). It is very dangerous because of the high heart rate and blood pressure will aggravate cardiovascular system. This study aimed to determine "The Decrease Of The Physical and Psychosocial Stress For Pre Onclogy Surgery Patients" at one hospital in Padang. The study used "Quasi-experimental pre-post test without control group" design with the intervention of meditation therapy. These samples included 44 people.Sampling bThese samples included 44 people.The sampling used by way purpusive sampling. The testing differences in average decline of physical and psychosocial stress in the intervention group and the control group is T test. The results showed an average decline of physical and psychosocial stress after meditation more in the intervention group compared with the control group. The conclusion significantly meditation therapy can reduce physical and psychosocial stress in patients withpreoperative oncology surgical. It needs to be applied as a therapy nursing meditation therapy in treating preoperative patients at least once a day for 30 minutes.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of family psychoeducation on knowledge, abilities and family burden in caring for people with Schizophrenia at the Psychiatric Polyclinic at Pariaman Regional Hospital. This research was carried out at Pariaman Hospital from September 2022 to September 2023. This type of research is quantitative and quasi-experimental with a control group. The population in this study were families of ODS who visited the mental health clinic at Pariaman Regional Hospital, totalling 94 people and a sample of 32 people. The data collection tool/instrument used was a questionnaire. Data analysis in this research uses the Validity Test, Reliability Test, Univariate Analysis and Bivariate Analysis. The results of this study show that family psychoeducation therapy has a positive impact on increasing the knowledge and abilities of families who care for family members with Schizophrenia. A comparison between families who received Psychoeducational therapy and those who did not showed significant differences in knowledge, abilities and family burden. Family Psychoeducational Therapy can be considered an effective intervention in supporting families who care for family members with Schizophrenia in the psychiatric polyclinic of Pariaman Hospital.

Abstract

West Sumatra gets the fifthranks in the top disaster-prone province in Indonesia. The level of disaster preparedness in the school environment is at the lowest position compared to the preparedness in the community. This study aimed to implement the Model Group Supportive Therapy and Disaster PreparednessTraining to improve the school community's preparedness for disasters in West Sumatra. The research design used "Quasi experimental pre-post test without control group". It was carried out in four public elementary schools in Pariaman and Padang with 166 respondents taken by purposive sampling. The results of the first stage of the study showed an increase in preparedness to face potential disasters in students before and after being given the Model Group Supportive Therapy Model and Disaster Preparedness Training. There was an increase in preparedness to face potential disasters by 23,614 students. The Group Supportive Therapy model and disaster preparedness training program are effective in increasing school preparedness against potential disasters by 62.71%. It is recommended to the Education Office in West Sumatra that elementary school communities receive Model Group Supportive Therapy training and Disaster Preparedness School Training. The completion of the Model Group Supportive Therapy module and disaster preparedness training program needs to be carried out as one of the interventions in an effort to increase school community preparedness against potential earthquake disasters and the tsunami in West Sumatra.
