Abstract

The continuously increasing oil prices make us realize that petroleum supplies are dwindling, therefore governments around the world are supporting the development of alternative fuels that are cheaper and more environmentally friendly, known as biodiesel. The research aims to measure the oil content of plants found on Jimbaran Hill. The method used is the exploration method by walking around Bukit Jimbaran. The oil is extracted from the seeds which have been dried by the soxhletation method using hexane as a solvent. The results showed that there were 14 species found on Jimbaran Hill. The highest oil content was obtained from mahogany (Swietenia mahagoni L.), namely 45.26%. This was followed by the kapok plant (Ceiba pentandra) with an oil content of 34.13%. While the lowest oil content was obtained from the orok-orok plant (Crotalaria juncea), namely 2.13%. Other non-food plants found in Bukit Jimbaran that have potential as biodiesel are the Ketapang plant (Terminalia catappa) and the butterfly plant (Bauhinia purpurea L.) with yields of 28.23% and 25.20% respectively.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of cow biourine liquid fertilizer on the growth and yield of mustard greens. This research has been conducted on Jln. Banteng Baru behind the PDIP office No.4, Renon Village, South Denpasar District. Denpasar City. This study took place for 1 month 2 weeks from the time of seedling, starting on 19 February – 26 March 2021. This study used a randomized block design (RAK) with the treatment of liquid fertilizer consisting of 6 treatments and 4 replications, while the treatment was cow biourine. , so that 24 experimental units can be obtained. Concentration of cow biourine: K0= control, K1=100ml cow biourine/900ml water, K2=200ml cow biourine/800ml water, K3=300ml cow biourine/700ml water, K4=400ml cow biourine/600ml water, K5=500ml cow biourine /500ml of water. The results showed that the concentration of bovine biourine was given to mustard greens. The results showed that K4 treatment (400ml cow biourine/600ml water) on the growth parameters of mustard greens had a very significant effect on plant height, leaf area, total plant fresh weight, total oven dry weight of plants and only had a significant effect on leaf number. The concentration of cow biourine liquid fertilizer from 400ml cow biourine/600ml water resulted in the best growth of mustard greens, namely total plant fresh weight: 137.5 g and total plant oven dry weight: 18.40 g.

Abstract

The title of this research is “the effect of organic cow dung fertilizer on the growth and yield of shallot (Allium ascanolicum L). The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the use of organic cow dung fertilizer and the best dose in the use of organic cow dung fertilizer on onion planting media. This research was conducted in Kesiman Village, East Denpasar District, Denpasar City. This research was conducted over a period of three months, starting from January 22 to March 25, 2021. To test the effect of giving organic cow dung fertilizer using the Randomized Block Design (RAK) method with six treatments, namely treatment (P0) = without giving organic manure fertilizer cattle, (P1) = 5 tons/ha organic cow dung, (P2) = 10 tons/ha organic cow dung, (P3) = 15 tons/ha organic cow dung, (P4) = 20 tons/ha fertilizer organic cow dung, (P5) = 25 tons/ha organic cow dung. Each treatment was repeated four times so that the total number of treatments became 24. The results of statistical analysis showed that the application of organic cow dung fertilizer on shallot plants had a significant effect on all parameters observed, except for the parameters of plant height and leaf fresh weight. The results showed that the application of organic cow manure 20 tons/ha (P4) was able to give the best results on the fresh weight of tubers, namely 66.68 g. And the oven-dry weight of tubers was 39.37 g.

Abstract

Celery (Apium Graveolens L.) belongs to the important leaf vegetable group and has export value and is the second important spice plant after lettuce in terms of its popularity and value. Even today it has been used as a diet food and is always available throughout the year. But the cultivation of celery plants has not received serious attention. This is due to several factors, including the lack of public interest in celery cultivation. Therefore, research on the application of goat manure organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of celery (Apium Graveoluns L.) aims to determine the effect of giving goat manure organic fertilizer on the growth and yield of celery plants, and to determine the appropriate dose of goat manure organic fertilizer. the best effect on the growth and yield of celery plants. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) method with 6 treatments, with doses of goat manure organic fertilizer K0 (control), K1 12.5 grams, K2 25 grams, K3 37.5 grams, K4 50 grams, and K5 65.5 grams. Each treatment was repeated four times so that all treatments became 24. In testing the effect of organic goat manure on growth and yield of celery (Apium Graveolens L.) dose of 37.5 grams (K3) gave the best growth results for all parameters observed, namely plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), root length (cm), root fresh weight (g), root dry weight (g), total plant fresh weight (g), total plant dry weight (g).

Abstract

Production of rawit pepper in Bali has decreased from 2020 to 2022. By 2020, production of chili in Bali will be around 43,380 tonnes, while by 2022 production will significantly decrease to 34,948 tonnes, so the purpose of this research is to find out the influence of different coconut water POC concentrations on the polybag system on the growth and yield of ravit Pepper plants to get the right POC water concentration of coconut pepper in rawit plants. The scheme used in the study is a group random scheme (RAK), with 6 treatments POC coconut water i.e. P0=Control, P1=100 ml/liter of water, P2=200 ml/litre of air, P3=300 ml/Liter of Water, P4=400ml/Litre of Water, P5=500 ml /Liter. The result of the administration of POC Coconut Water P5 500 ml/1 litre of water gives the best results such as plant height 48,25 cm, number of leaves 33.75 strands, amount of flowers 7.5 flowers, volume of fruit 3.5 pieces, fresh fruit 3.88 g and wet weight of crop 38.43 g. The effect of the POC water administration is the lowest occurred on POC water supply P0 (control) such as crop height 27 cm, the number of strands 20.75 leaves, the amount of flower 2.25, fruit 1.75 amount of fruit, the weight of fresh fruit 2.50 g and moist weight of the crop 15.63 g. Conclusion Research results of the influence of POC concentrations of coconut water on growth parameters and the yield of pepper crops show a very real influence on all parameters

Abstract

Jeruk siam adalah komoditas hortikultura penting dan bernilai ekonomis. Mitra pengabdian masyarakat adalah Kelompok Tani Tegal Sari di Desa Awan, Kecamatan Kintamani, Provinsi Bali yang Bertani jeruk Siam. Mitra memiliki masalah produktivitas rendah pada budidaya buah jeruk Siam akibat serangan penyakit busuk batang (Botryodiplodia theobromae). Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan pengetahuan dan mendampingi  mitra desa Awan dalam mengetahui gejala, tanda dan jenis-jenis penyakit diplodia serta memberikan upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit busuk batang pada tanaman jeruk Siam. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan mitra desa Awan terhadap gejala, tanda dan jenis-jenis penyakit diplodia serta memberikan upaya pencegahan dan pengendalian penyakit busuk batang pada tanaman jeruk Siam. Juga, mitra dapat menambah peralatan pengendalian penyakit untuk pertanian jeruk Siam. Siamese orange is an important horticultural commodity and has economic value. The community service partner was the Tegal Sari Farmers Group in Awan Village, Kintamani District, Bali Province. Mitra has a problem of low productivity in Siam citrus fruit cultivation due to stem rot disease (Botryodiplodia theobromae). This community service activity aims to introduce knowledge and assist Awan village partners in knowing the symptoms, signs and types of diplodia disease and provide efforts to prevent and control stem rot disease in Siam citrus plants. The results of the community service activities showed an increase in the knowledge of Awan village partners regarding the symptoms, signs and types of diplodia disease and provided efforts to prevent and control stem rot disease in Siam citrus plants. Also, partners can add disease control equipment to Siam citrus farms.

Abstract

Produksi jeruk tertinggi di Bali terdapat di Kabupaten Bangli dengan 93.162,3 ton per tahun, tetapi pemasaran jeruk dari desa Awan mengalami kendala daya simpan yang pendek saat pengiriman. Berdasarkan beberapa permasalahan yang dialami perlu dilakukan pendampingan terkait penanganan pascapanen Jeruk Siam yang ideal untuk mempertahankan mutu dan daya simpan hingga ditangan konsumen. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa pelaku usaha Jeruk Siam Desa Awan Kintamani telah berusaha menerapkan teknik pascapanen untuk meningkatkan mutu dan daya simpan jeruk. Mereka melakukan pemanenan tepat waktu, pembersihan dengan metode basah dan kering, penyortiran sesuai standar mutu, serta pengemasan dan penyimpanan pada suhu dan kelembaban ideal. Selain itu, moda transportasi yang aman digunakan untuk menjaga kondisi Jeruk Siam hingga ke pasar dan konsumen. The highest orange production in Bali is in Bangli Regency with 93,162.3 tons per year, but the marketing of oranges from Awan village is constrained by short shelf life during shipping. Based on several problems experienced, it is necessary to help relate to the ideal post-harvest handling of Siamese Oranges to maintain quality and shelf life until they reach consumers. The results of the community service show that Siamese Orange entrepreneurs in Awan Kintamani Village have tried to apply post-harvest techniques to improve the quality and shelf life of oranges. They harvest on time, clean using wet and dry methods, sort according to quality standards, and package and store at ideal temperatures and humidity. In addition, safe transportation modes are used to maintain the condition of Siamese Oranges until they reach the market and consumers.

Abstract

Brassica juncea L. or commonly called mustard greens is one of the most popular types of vegetables in Indonesia, because this mustard is one of the varieties that contain various health benefits. The objectives of this research are 1). Knowing the effect of giving cow biourine concentration on the growth and yield of mustard plants. 2). Determine the effect of giving the best concentration of cow biourine on the growth and yield of mustard plants. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) method with six treatments, namely the control treatment (B0), the concentration of biourine 100 ml/1 liter of water (B1), the concentration of 100 ml/1 liter of water (B1). Biourine 200 ml/1 liter water (B2), biourine concentration 300 ml/1 liter water (B3), biourine concentration 400 ml/1 liter water (B4), and biourine treatment 500 ml/1 liter water (B5) each treatment was repeated four times so that the total number of treatments was 24. In the test of the effect of bovine biourine concentration on mustard plants, the application of 500 ml/1 liter of water bovine biourine gave the best growth results for all parameters observed, namely; Plant height (cm), Number of leaves (strands), Leaf area (cm2), fresh weight of plant roots (g), fresh weigght withouat plant roots (g), Total fresh weight of the plant (g),Oven dry weight of plant roots (g), Oven dy weight withouat plant roots (g), and Total oven dry weight of plants (g).

Abstract

The packcoy plant is one of the vegetable plants that is in great demand by the public today because the price is relatively cheap and this vegetable is easy to process into vegetables compared to other types of vegetables. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of doses of rice husk biochar on the growth and yield of packcoy (Brassica rapa L.) and to determine the best dosage of rice husk biochar on the growth and yield of packcoy (Brassica rapa L.). This research was conducted in the Kalpatarugarden, Jln Sedap Malam, Sanur, South Denpasar. This research was conducted from March to May 2023. The data obtained was analyzed using analysis of variance according to the design used, namely Randomized Block Design (RBD). If the analysis of variance shows a significant to very real effect. Then it will be continued with the Least Significant Difference Test (5% BNT). The results showed that the administration of rice husk biochar had a very significant effect on the growth and yield of mustard greens (Brassica rapa L.). The best concentration of rice husk biochar on the growth and yield of pokcay plants was the treatment of 400 g of biochar/10 kg of soil.

Abstract

UMKM Bee Jamur Salah satu usaha budidaya jamur tiram yang berlokasi di Desa Peguyangan Kaja, Kecamatan Denpasar Utara, telah berdiri sejak 2016. Setiap tahun, permintaan jamur tiram terus meningkat seiring dengan perkembangan pariwisata dan restoran di Bali. Namun, peningkatan produksi ini juga menimbulkan masalah lingkungan, yaitu limbah baglog yang digunakan sebagai media tanam jamur tiram. UMKM Bee Jamur, limbah ini belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal dan hanya dibuang saja langsung ke tanaman. Padahal, limbah baglog mengandung unsur hara makro yang dapat diolah menjadi pupuk organik untuk memperbaiki kesuburan tanah dan pertumbuhan tanaman. Menanggapi permasalahan ini, kegiatan pengabdian memberikan edukasi kepada UMKM Bee Jamur mengenai pentingnya pengelolaan limbah dalam produksi jamur tiram untuk mencapai produksi tanpa limbah. Program ini dilaksanakan melalui penyuluhan tentang manajemen pengolahan limbah baglog menjadi pupuk organik yang memenuhi standar kualitas. Selanjutnya, peserta mengikuti pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organik berbahan limbah baglog menggunakan metode pengomposan aerobik. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman sebesar 88,3% dalam hal manajemen dan pembuatan pupuk organik dari limbah baglog. Mitra kini mampu mempraktekkan pembuatan pupuk organik dengan tepat sesuai prosedur. UMKM Bee Jamur semakin menyadari bahwa limbah baglog dapat diolah menjadi pupuk organik yang bernilai ekonomis, serta mendukung prinsip produksi tanpa limbah
