Abstract

Regarding fisheries in Indonesia, there is a need for balanced management so that existing resources can be used and utilized optimally. The Romokalisari Adventure Land tourist attraction, located in Benowo District, Surabaya City, is a tourist attraction that utilizes the balance between the two natural resources in the form of land and sea. The method used to find the economic value of resources in Romokalisari Adventure Land Ecotourism is a simple method, where there is a regression model to determine the influence of each factor and the Travel Cost Method (TCM) travel cost model to determine the economic value of resources. The results of this research show that the actual income obtained by Romokalisari Adventure Land Ecotourism is IDR. 120,000,000,- / year and potential income of IDR 720,000,000,-/ year. Potential income can also be generated by the emergence of potential that appears as an activity sector to expand economic income.

Abstract

Cantrang is a type of fishing gear considered to have low selectivity for catch species and size but high productivity. Its operation involves scraping the seabed, which may negatively affect aquatic ecosystems, including coral reefs. This study aimed to analyze the composition of cantrang catches landed at Brondong Fish Auction Place (TPI) and examine the construction characteristics of the cantrang fishing gear operated at the site. The research was conducted at TPI Brondong from December 2023 to January 2024 using direct observation and interviews with local fishermen. The Shannon–Wiener diversity index was 2.46, indicating a moderate level of species diversity, while the catch dominance index was 0.89, indicating high dominance by certain species. These findings suggest that the cantrang fishing gear has low selectivity and is not environmentally friendly. The operated cantrang had a wing mesh size of 7.5 cm made of polyethylene, while the net body had mesh sizes of 6.8 cm, 4.4 cm, and 2.7 cm toward the codend. The codend had mesh sizes of approximately 1.5 cm and 1.1 cm. The upper and lower ropes were each 50 m long, while the selambar rope was 1,000 m long. The findings provide information on catch composition and gear construction as a basis for evaluating the selectivity and environmental sustainability of cantrang fishing operations.

Abstract

Perairan probolinggo melakukan pennagkapan ikan mulai jam 18:00 WIB sampai 04:00 WIB melalui jumlah hauling antara 3 kali per trip (dalam 1 malam). Menurut nelayan setempat, jumlah hauling paling banyak pada jam 24:00 WIB sampai 04:00 WIB. Penelitian ini diselenggarakan bulan desember-januari di Perairan Mayangan. Metode penelitian yang dilaksanakan dengan 3 perlakuan yakni pada waktu penangkapan pukul 20:00 – 22:00 WIB, waktu penangkapan pukul 23:00 – 01:00 WIB dan waktu penangkapan pukul 02:00 – 04:00 WIB melalui 9 kali pengulangan (trip). Metode pengolahdata memakai Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yang dilanjutkan dengan memakai uji BNT (Uji Beda Nyata). sembilan kali ulangan diperoleh jumlah tangkapan tertinggi ialah pukul 23:00-01:00 WIB melalui total tangkapan 305 ekor. Kemudian di urutan kedua pukul 01:00-03:00 WIB melalui total tangkapan 281 ekor dan terakhir pukul 20:00-22:00 WIB melalui total 240 ekor.
