ABSTRACTThe implementation of the Program for Growing Young Agricultural Entrepreneurs (PWMP) has been carried out by Vocational Higher Education within the Ministry of Agriculture, with one of the implementing institutions is the Politeknik Pembangunan Pertanian Medan in the Sumatra region. The ability to innovate is a crucial factor in business development and sustainability. This study aims to identify and analyze the innovative capabilities of young entrepreneurs participating in the PWMP Program in the Sumatra region. This study employs a quantitative descriptive research method to assess young entrepreneurs' ability to innovate. The population consists of PWMP Program participants from 2020 to 2023, totaling 142 respondents. The sampling technique used in this study is the saturated sampling method, in which all PWMP participants are included as samples. Quantitative data are measured using a Likert scale and interpreted within respective categories. Based on the study results, the ability to innovate among PWMP Program entrepreneurs in the Sumatra region falls into the low category, at 45.70 percent. The lowest ability is observed in the dimension of organizational innovation development (40.23%), particularly in creating management strategies and ensuring effective administration. Conversely, the highest ability is found in the dimension of product innovation development (50.09%), especially in identifying product needs. PWMP Program participants should be selected based on their ability to innovate, with an emphasis on business management skills, including the generation of innovative ideas to enhance the competitiveness of agricultural businesses in the digital era. Abstract

Halal product consumption behavior is a crucial issue in Islamic economic studies, especially amidst the rising religious consciousness among Muslims and the growth of the global halal industry. This research aims to systematically identify and map the factors influencing halal consumption behavior, the gap between religious values and actual consumption practices, and the challenges faced by Muslim consumers. This study is based on an in-depth analysis and synthesis of recent academic literature published between 2020 and 2025, sourced from various reputable scientific databases. The findings indicate that halal consumption behavior is influenced by religiosity, trust in certification labels, attitude, subjective norms, and halal literacy. Nevertheless, a gap was found between professed religious values and actual consumption decisions, particularly in non-food product categories. The main challenges include a lack of information, limited access to halal products, and the influence of modern lifestyles that obscure religious priorities. This study integrates Islamic positive and normative economic approaches to provide a comprehensive understanding of Muslim consumer behavior and offers recommendations for strengthening education and developing more contextual halal consumption policies.

Abstract

The increasingly competitive world of work and business demands that young people develop a productive economic mindset from an early age. This study aims to analyze the importance of strengthening a productive economic mindset for vocational high school students in preparing them to enter the world of work and business. The activities included theoretical training, such as workshops, and digital marketing simulations using social media. The results showed a 56% increase in student understanding and a significant transformation in entrepreneurial mindsets across eight key aspects: growth mindset, innovation, resilience, adaptability, risk-taking, proactivity, creativity, and visionary thinking. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach using observation, interviews, and a literature review. The results indicate that economics learning activities and the entrepreneurship program contribute positively to the development of a productive, creative, and independent mindset in students. By strengthening this mindset, students are not only oriented towards being job seekers but also have the potential to become job creators.
