Abstract

Pembekalan ilmu pengetahuan dan ketrampilan pada masa pandemi saat ini dirasa sangat penting bagi para pelaku UMKM. Pengetahuan tidak hanya dilakukan pada bidang yang ditekuni, akan tetapi pembekalan bidang lain juga perlu diberikan, misalnya pada peningkatan kualitas proses produksi dan bentuk kemasan. Pelatihan packaging dan desain kemasan yang diberikan oleh trainer memberikan dampak yang signifikan, sehingga produk kerupuk ikan yang dihasilkan nantinya mempunyai daya tahan (tingkat keawetan) yang lebih lama dan penampilan yang lebih menarik. Selain itu, memberikan modul atau panduan khusus untuk meningkatkan proses produksi kerupuk ikan dan panduan proses desain kemasan menggunakan aplikasi canva.

Abstract

This Community Service Program was carried out in Tenggor Village with the aim of improving the productivity and efficiency of catfish farming through the application of the biofloc system. The biofloc method was selected for its ability to utilize microorganisms to convert organic waste into natural feed, thus reducing feed costs and maintaining water quality. The program was implemented using a participatory approach, involving stages of field surveys, socialization, technical training in biofloc pond construction, cultivation assistance, and evaluation for sustainability. The results show the successful construction of one biofloc pond with a capacity of 1,000–1,200 fish, an increase in community knowledge from 40% to 85%, faster growth rates with a survival rate of 90%, and operational feed cost efficiency of 20–30%. In addition to its economic benefits, the program strengthened community cooperation and improved entrepreneurial awareness. These outcomes indicate that the biofloc system has strong potential to be expanded as a model for sustainable local economic development based on aquaculture.

Abstract

Waste management remains an environmental challenge faced by communities in both urban and rural areas. Low public awareness in sorting and disposing of waste properly causes environmental cleanliness problems, unhealthy conditions, and potential pollution. This community service activity aimed to improve community knowledge regarding the importance of sorting organic and inorganic waste and to encourage the utilization of used goods as trash bins. The activity was carried out in Sukorejo Village, Sidayu District, Gresik Regency, with PKK women as the main target group. The methods used were counseling, demonstration, and direct practice. The implementation stages included preparation, execution, and evaluation. The results showed high community enthusiasm in participating in the socialization and practice of making trash bins from used paint buckets. The outputs of the activity were 14 trash bins consisting of 7 organic and 7 inorganic bins distributed to several public points in Sukorejo Village. This activity had a positive impact on increasing community understanding of waste management while supporting the creation of a cleaner and healthier environment.
