Abstract

Background: Adolescence is a crucial transitional period characterized by rapid reproductive organ development and vulnerability to risky behaviors that impact reproductive health. Limited knowledge and negative attitudes toward reproductive health among adolescent girls require structured and culturally appropriate health education interventions. Purpose: To determine the effectiveness of Sharia-Based Reproductive and Sexual Health Education (PK-RSS) in improving the knowledge and attitudes of adolescent girls about reproductive health. Method: This quasi-experimental study with a control group design involved 60 respondents aged 15-18 years, divided into an intervention group (n=30) and a control group (n=30). Data were collected using validated knowledge and attitude questionnaires. The intervention group received PK-RSS education, while the control group received no intervention. Data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon test. Results: Before the intervention, the majority of respondents in the intervention group had poor knowledge (63.3%) and negative attitudes (76.7%). After the PK-RSS intervention, there was a significant increase in knowledge, with 46.7% achieving good knowledge and 46.7% sufficient knowledge, while only 6.7% remained in the poor category. Attitudes also improved significantly, with 50.0% showing positive attitudes and 50.0% negative attitudes. The Wilcoxon test results showed significant differences in both knowledge (Z=-4.490, p=0.000) and attitudes (Z=-2.309, p=0.021) before and after the intervention. Conclusion: Sharia-Based Reproductive and Sexual Health Education (PK-RSS) was effective in improving knowledge and changing attitudes of adolescent girls regarding reproductive health. The sharia-based approach that integrates Islamic values provided a strong moral and spiritual foundation, making information more acceptable and internalized by Muslim adolescents.   Keywords: Adolescent Girls; Attitudes; Knowledge; Reproductive Health Education; Sharia-Based Education.   Pendahuluan: Periode remaja adalah tahap transisi krusial yang dikarakteristikkan dengan perkembangan organ reproduksi pesat dan kerentanan terhadap perilaku berisiko yang mempengaruhi kesehatan reproduksi. Keterbatasan pengetahuan dan sikap negatif terhadap kesehatan reproduksi pada remaja putri memerlukan intervensi pendidikan kesehatan yang terstruktur dan sesuai dengan budaya. Tujuan: Untuk mengidentifikasi efektivitas Pendidikan Kesehatan Reproduksi dan Seksual Berbasis Syariah (PK-RSS) dalam meningkatkan pemahaman dan perilaku remaja putri terkait kesehatan reproduksi. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi-experimental dengan kelompok kontrol yang melibatkan 60 responden berusia 15-18 tahun, terbagi menjadi kelompok intervensi (n=30) dan kelompok kontrol (n=30). Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner pengetahuan dan sikap yang telah divalidasi. Kelompok intervensi menerima pendidikan PK-RSS, sedangkan kelompok kontrol tidak menerima intervensi. Analisis data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon. Hasil: Sebelum intervensi, mayoritas responden pada kelompok intervensi memiliki pengetahuan kurang (63,3%) dan sikap negatif (76.7%). Setelah intervensi PK-RSS, terjadi peningkatan signifikan pada pengetahuan dengan 46.7% mencapai pengetahuan baik dan 46.7% pengetahuan cukup, sementara hanya 6.7% yang masih dalam kategori kurang. Sikap juga mengalami perbaikan signifikan dengan 50% menunjukkan sikap positif dan 50% sikap negatif. Hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan baik pada pengetahuan (Z=-4.490, p=0.000) maupun sikap (Z=-2.309, p=0.021) sebelum dan setelah intervensi. Simpulan: Pendidikan Kesehatan Reproduksi dan Seksual Berbasis Syariah (PK-RSS) efektif meningkatkan pengetahuan dan mengubah sikap remaja putri tentang kesehatan reproduksI. Pendekatan berbasis syariah yang mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai Islam memberikan fondasi moral dan spiritual yang kuat sehingga informasi lebih mudah diterima dan diinternalisasi oleh remaja muslim.   Kata Kunci: Pendidikan Kesehatan Reproduksi; Pendidikan Berbasis Syariah; Pengetahuan; Remaja Putri; Sikap.

Abstract

Physical unpreparedness, manifestations of anxiety, and pain intensity often hinder labor progress, which in turn escalates the risk of invasive medical interventions. Non-pharmacological approaches, particularly through prenatal exercise activities and the use of birthing balls, are considered to have a positive contribution in optimizing labor mechanisms. This study aims to investigate the efficacy of prenatal exercise and birthing ball education on parameters of smooth labor processes in mothers. The methodology applied was a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design approach. A total of 62 respondents were involved as samples distributed into the experimental group and the control group. The intervention group received treatment in the form of prenatal exercise and education on the use of birthing balls, while the control group only received standard midwifery care. Data were collected through observations using standardized instruments, which were then analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U statistical test. The analysis results showed a significant difference in the level of smooth labor between the intervention and control groups. Pregnant women who received prenatal exercise and birthing ball education tended to have smoother labors compared to those who did not receive these interventions. It can be concluded that the integration of prenatal exercise and birthing ball education has been proven effective in improving the smoothness of labor. This intervention can be implemented as a safe and beneficial non-pharmacological alternative within maternity nursing care. It is hoped that healthcare practitioners can integrate this program into antenatal care to optimize maternal preparedness for labor.
