Abstract

Bresela Village, Gianyar, Bali has had a TPS3R facility since 2022, however household waste sorting remains suboptimal. Sustainable development requires environmental awareness from an early age, making environmental education in elementary schools strategic. This community service activity aimed to increase students' environmental knowledge and encourage behavioral change toward a cleaner and more sustainable life. The activity was conducted at SDN 2 Bresela on July 25, 2025 with 34 students from grades 4, 5, and 6 using a participatory approach and active learning methods through three stages: environmental education counseling, waste sorting simulation, and educational games. Results showed 100% attendance with an average knowledge score increase from 62.9 to 79 points (16.1% increase). A total of 94.12% of participants experienced increased knowledge scores and 82.35% of students achieved scores ≥70. Students demonstrated the ability to correctly sort organic and inorganic waste along with the emergence of new habits such as independently cleaning classrooms and using waste bins according to categories. This activity proves that environmental education through an experiential learning approach effectively increases knowledge and shapes pro-environmental behavior in elementary school students.

Abstract

Delays in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects are often attributed to financial constraints or technical challenges, while institutional dynamics and actor interactions remain underexplored, particularly at the local government level. This study aims to analyze actor dynamics within the institutional framework of the Street Lighting PPP project in Denpasar City, Indonesia. A case study approach was employed by integrating MICMAC structural analysis and MACTOR actor analysis to identify key variables, map influence structures, and examine actors' strategic positions toward project objectives. The findings reveal that regulatory change functions as an external structural shock that restructures inter-actor relationships and increases coordination complexity. The actor structure demonstrates a pattern of mutual interdependence, where highly influential actors simultaneously exhibit high dependence. This configuration produces a collective yet defensive decision-making mechanism, as actors tend to minimize institutional risk and individual accountability. Consequently, project delays cannot be understood solely as technical or financial issues, but rather as outcomes of relational configurations requiring collective legitimacy before strategic decisions are made. This study highlights the importance of incorporating actor dynamics analysis as a diagnostic tool in PPP preparation stages to strengthen coordination, align regulatory interpretation, and enhance implementation certainty.

Abstract

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) for 2021, the number of couples of childbearing age (PUS) in Denpasar City ranks third with a total of 81,575. In Denpasar City, the number of active family planning (FP) participants is 63,024, while those not using contraception number 10,730, and new FP participants amount to 7,840. Choosing contraception is not an easy task for healthcare providers or related agencies, as the decision must align with the individual needs of each person. In North Denpasar, there are 21,545 PUS, with 15,854 active FP participants and 5,691 not using contraception. The relatively low number of active FP participants in Denpasar City indicates a lack of understanding of the importance of contraception within families. The main issue in Denpasar City regarding the family planning program is the insufficient use of contraceptives, as evidenced by many families having more than two children, some even reaching five. This study aims to analyse the factors affecting contraceptive use in North Denpasar. Data analysis was performed using path analysis with SPSS software. The results indicate that: 1) education level negatively affects contraceptive use in North Denpasar; 2) income level and patriarchal culture positively affect contraceptive use in North Denpasar. This implies that higher income and stronger patriarchal culture are associated with higher contraceptive use in North Denpasar; 3) education level and income negatively but not significantly affect fertility in North Denpasar, suggesting that these factors do not have a significant impact on fertility; 4) patriarchal culture and contraceptive use positively but not significantly affect fertility in North Denpasar, indicating that these factors also do not significantly impact fertility.
