Abstract

The training for creating digital technology-based mathematics learning media at SMA N 1 Pulau Rakyat on October 2, 2024, aimed to enhance the quality of mathematics education in the digital era. Involving one lecturer and eleven students, this activity adopted interactive methods to foster better student engagement in learning. Initial observations revealed that many students struggled to understand mathematical concepts due to conventional teaching methods. This training focused on introducing digital tools, where students learned to create learning media such as interactive posters and infographics. Evaluation results showed an increase in students' confidence in using technology and their interest in mathematics. Thus, this program not only improves mathematical understanding but also develops relevant technological skills, making students active creators in the learning process. Keywords: Learning media, Digital technology, Mathematics education, Student engagement.

Abstract

The purpose of the research is to determine and analyze the effect of using the roundtable model on students' ability in writing Expository text at grade  X of SMA Negeri 4 Tanjung Balai in 2024/2025 Academic Year. This research method is quantitative and experimental research with a pre-test post-test control group design. The population in this study were students of class X of SMA Negeri 4 Tanjung Balai. The sample for this research consisted of 72 students taken by random sampling. The data collection technique uses an essay test. This was done to determine the effect of the roundtable model on students before and after receiving maintenance. This research used the Sugiyono formula to analyze research data. Based on the results of research that has been conducted regarding the effect of  roundtable model on the ability to writing expository text at grade X of SMA Negeri 4 Tanjung Balai. The learning activities of students who are taught using a roundtable model are better than students who are taught not using a roundtable model the experimental class there was an average result of 85.88, while in the control class there was an average percentage of 66.52. From the results of hypothesis testing using the t test, the tᶵ value was 2.042. So it can be concluded that tʱ > tᶵ (9.994 > 2.042). So it can be stated that there is a significant difference in the increase in learning outcome scores in the experimental group and the control group. Thus, it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, meaning the effect of roundtable model on students' ability in writing expository text at grade X SMA Negeri 4 Tanjung Balai in 2024/2025 Academic Year.
