Abstract

This research is aimed to find a comparison of how each language (colloquail, slang, transformational) are formed and in what context is used. This research is descriptive qualitative research. At the stage of providing data, researchers use Simak and Cakap technique. In the process of data analysis, the researchers use the method of padan and agih method. The agih method is used to look at the slang language constructs in each period while the method of padan is used to describe the adolescent Perspective in the use of colloquail, slang and transformational language from time to time. The result of the research shows that the way how the three non standard language is different from each other. Colloquail language are formed by changing “a” to “e” in final syllable, Deletion of First Syllable, New word formation, Additional Syllable “nge”, Change “a” to “e” in final syllable and add “an”,  and Additional particle “deh”, “aja”, “kok”, “ama”. Slang language are formed by Initial Each Word Collection, Word letter choosen, Deletion of initial letter and syllable, Change of “s’ to “c”, Change of “k” to “q”, Change of “au” to “w”, Change of “u” to “oe”, Adoption of basic words, English language abbreviation, English-Indonesia Abreviation, Citation and new word construction.Transformational language are formed by Ga, Gi, Gu, Ge, Go formula after single vowel sound syllable, Ga/G, Gi, Gu, Ge, Go formula before dipthong sound syllable, Ga, Gi, Gu, Ge, Go formula before last consonant sound, and Ga, Gi, Gu, Ge, Go formula for cluster consonant. The colloquial language usage context is more influenced by the habitual aspects heard by speakers in their environment such as at home, in markets, playgrounds, and certain other events. Slang languages, its use is influenced by the juvenile community environment where users only on the uses level 12 to 19 years. Transformational language was influenced by the desire to hide speech to people who were not from their groups like parents and strangers. Keywords: Slang, Colloquial, Transformational, Diachronic

Abstract

This article describes the study of pragmatics that analyzes about the negative politeness strategies. The aim of this study is to find out the type of negative politeness strategies in movie “Big Hero 6”. The theory used is Levinson (2009). In this research, the researcher applied the qualitative descriptive method. The method of collecting data is observation. The researcher found 20 data that contain negative politeness strategies, the using of be indirect is 1 data, the using of question or hedging is 7 data, the using of minimize imposition 4 data, the using apologize 3 data, the using of give deference 1 data, and the using of plural pronoun is 4 data.

Abstract

The aim of national education in Law No.20 of 2003 is to develop the potential of responsible, healthy, knowledgeable, capable, creative, independent, democratic, and noble students who believe God Almighty. The noble aim of education in Indonesia is to implement attitudes, knowledge, and skills. Implementation of curriculum 2013 has a positive impact in improving the quality of education in Indonesia. In each implementation of teaching, students are taught to prioritize inductive thought more than deductive thought because curriculum 2013 uses a scientific approach. Learning English is the compalsory subject that uses a scientific approach in high schools. English teachers must have competence in transferring knowledge. But they are constrained in application of a scientific text-based approach to teaching English. The purpose of this training is to apply the Content-Based Instruction (CBI) approach to English language learning, especially for teaching speaking at high schools. The method is in the form of interviews (pretest), discussion, and direct practice (posttest) by using Content-Based Instruction approach based on scientific texts. The results of the training are expected to be able to produce teachers who are competent in teaching English and creating the enjoyable learning English so that learners can develop the potential of students.

Abstract

There are some methods used in teaching English. One of them is TPR (Total Physical Response). This method was used for mothers and children in Villa Muka Kuning because it doesn’t only concern on language skill but it will make participants actively engange in learning process. In this community services, TPR method was applied by using flash cards, songs and games. After conducting the community services, it showed that both mothers and childres were very excited learning English. Moreover, the ability of mothers in teaching English to their children ran more effectively. It is hoped that mothers can optimize their ability in learning English. Therefore, they can teach their children learning English

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji respon tidak santun terhadap postingan di instagram. Instagram adalah media komunikasi dunia maya yang memungkinkan pengguna bahasa untuk melakukan interaksi dengan lebih dari dua partisipan. Dunia maya khususnya media sosial seperti instagram memberikan kebebasan kepada netizen untuk mengekspresikan apa yang mereka rasakan/inginkan termasuk memberikan respon apapun terhadap postingan orang lain seperti postingan Donald Trump, Presiden Amerika. Kebebasan dalam mengekspresikan ide ini cenderung membuat netizen mengabaikan norma-norma kebahasaan sehingga memberikan respon yang tidak santun terhadap postingan orang lain. Ketidaksantunan seorang netizen akan membuat netizen lainnya kehilangan muka. Dalam penelitian ini, peneliti akan mendeskripsikan penggunaan strategi ketidaksantunan berkaitan dengan respon penolakan terhadap postingan Donald Trump di instagram. Sumber data penelitian adalah semua tuturan yang ada pada kolom komentar di instagram Donald Trump. Data penelitian dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan metode simak. Teknik yang digunakan adalah simak bebas libat cakap, dimana peneliti hanya mengamati saja dan tidak terlibat langsung dalam percakapan tersebut. Kemudian, data dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode padan pragmatik. Pada metode padan pragmatik, unsur penentunya adalah mitra tutur. Pemaknaan setiap tuturan didasarkan pada konteks tuturan tersebut. Selanjutnya, hasil analisis data dijelakan dengan menggunakan metode informal, yaitu pemaparan dengan menggunakan kalimat bukan dengan tanda atau lambang. Dari hasil analisis ditemukan bahwa dari empat strategi ketidak santunan hanya empat strategi yang digunakan dalam memberikan respon terhadap postingan Donald Trump di instagram. Strategi yang tidak digunakan adalah withhold politeness. Hal ini sangat beralasan karena biasanya strategi tersebut hanya dapat digunakan dalam percakapan lisan, sedangkan data penelitia ini diambil dari percakapan tertulis di media sosial. Di samping itu, temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi ketidak santunan yang paling sering digunakan adalah positive impoliteness. Budaya penggunaan bahasa langsung atau terang-terangan menjadi alasan kenapa strategi ini paling sering digunakan termasuk penggunaan kata-kata tabu.

Abstract

This study aims at describing request strategies based on gender perspective. The study was conducted by collecting data, analyzing data dan presenting the result of analysis. The data were obtained by using observation, recording and note taking technique. They were 40 informants involved, 20 male and 20 female. Having collected the data, they were analyzed by using referential method, translational and pragmatic identity method. Futhermore, the result of analysis was presented in formal and informal method. The analysis indicated that there were eight forms used : direct utterance, indirect utterance, literal utterance, non literal utterance, direct literal utterance, indirect literal utterance, direct non literal utterance, and indirect non literal utterance

Abstract

This study aimed to explore the harmonious relationship between human and nature that is still maintained by the Malay people of Kampong Tua Nongsa in Batam. Everyone who visited Batam will have perception that Batam is an industrial city with various metropolis conditions. It cannot be denied that it is true. The industrialization magnet in Batam has attracted the attention of many immigrants from various regions to try their luck to be better. The effects of rapid immigration and the many industrialization of Batam have had quite an impact on environmental conditions, especially this island which is bordering with Malaysia and Singapore. The amount of industrial pollution, deforestation, settlements, and reclamation has a bad impact on the natural situation. But behind all of that, Batam has uniqueness. The government still maintains there are 37 points of Kampong Tua Malay scattered throughout Batam. Behind the glamor of Batam's industrialization, there are still remnants of Malay culture that have a close relationship with the environment. In the research conducted, researchers analyzed three of cultural objects that are still preserved, namely the Sacred of Bunbun, the Sacred of Puak, and the Sacred of Batu Belah. In this article, researchers focused on the Myths behind the Sacred of Batu Belah, which still reflected the harmonious relationship between humans and nature. By using an ecocritic approach, the researcher answers the variable related with the relationship between man and nature behind the myth. The method used is a qualitative method with in-depth interviews and observation as data collection techniques. Using critical analysis techniques, the results of this study indicated that the ecocritic representation behind the Batu Belah myth is reflected from the existence prohibitions behind it. These prohibitions show how the Malay community is still able to maintain a harmonious relationship between humans and nature.
