Abstract

This study aims to examine the decline of Qur’anic literacy among students of Islamic Religious Higher Education Institutions (PTKI) in Indonesia during the period of 2022–2025, as well as to analyze the content of QS Al-‘Alaq verses 1–5 as a conceptual basis for the revitalization of Islamic education. Based on data from the Ministry of Religious Affairs in 2023, it was found that less than 35% of PTKI students are able to read the Qur’an correctly and fluently. This trend is concerning, given that the Qur’an is the primary source of knowledge and inspiration in Islamic education. The tafsir tahlili approach is used to comprehensively examine the meaning of the verses, while descriptive qualitative analysis is employed to relate the verses’ meanings to contemporary realities. The study’s findings show that these verses contain a strong message about the importance of reading, learning, and the intellectual transformation process based on revelation. This research recommends enhancing the Qur’anic literacy curriculum in PTKI and strengthening the role of lecturers as exemplars in practicing Qur’anic values.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to obtain a concrete understanding of the concept of governance or leadership and its correlative relationship with society form QS. An-Nisa (4): 58-63. Government or leadership is an urgent theme for societal or national life, and the Qur'an, as the holy book that serves as the ultimate guidance for Muslims, has extensively discussed the theme of leadership. Therefore, it is essential for Muslims to refer to the Qur'an to understand this crucial theme and subsequently apply it. The verses that discuss leadership, which are the object of this study, are QS. An-Nisâ (4): 58-63. One of the key points in these verses is Amanah (trustworthiness), which is an absolute requirement for the eligibility of a leader. However, this quality is increasingly rare due to the frequent abuse of power. Another point addressed is how to deal with the various dynamics and conflicts that arise in leadership. This research is a descriptive qualitative study using a literature review of tafsir (Qur'anic exegesis) as the primary source. The literature is analyzed and compared with other tafsir sources, employing the muqaranah (comparative) method.

Abstract

                  Al-Qur’an merupakan aspek fundamental dalam pendidikan Islam yang harus dibaca secara fasih sesuai kaidah tajwid. Namun, di kelas I’dad Pondok Pesantren AlQur’an Al-Munawwir Bogor masih ditemukan santri yang mengalami kesulitan dalam kefasihan makharijul huruf dan sifat-sifat huruf. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi Kitab Al-Jazariyah dalam pembelajaran Al-Qur’an, peningkatan kefasihan bacaan santri, serta faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan tes bacaan Al-Qur’an. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) implementasi Kitab AlJazariyah dilaksanakan secara sistematis melalui pembelajaran bait-bait Al-Jazariyah yang disertai praktik talaqqi dan musyafahah. Dari 20 santri yang diteliti, 13 santri telah menguasai pembelajaran Kitab Al-Jazariyah dengan baik, sementara 7 santri masih memerlukan pendampingan lanjutan. (2) Selain itu, terdapat peningkatan signifikan dalam kefasihan pengucapan huruf hijaiyah, baik dari aspek makharijul huruf maupun sifat huruf. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi, 13 santri mengalami peningkatan kefasihan bacaan Al-Qur’an dan sifat huruf, sedangkan 7 santri belum menunjukkan perkembangan optimal. (3) Keberhasilan pembelajaran didukung oleh metode pengajaran yang tepat dan kompetensi guru, sementara hambatan utama meliputi rendahnya motivasi santri dan perbedaan kemampuan belajar. Hasil korelasi menunjukkan bahwa Dari 20 santri, 13 santri memiliki motivasi dan keseriusan belajar yang tinggi serta mampu mengikuti metode pembelajaran dengan baik didukung oleh kompetensi guru dalam membimbing pembelajaran, sedangkan 7 santri lainnya memiliki motivasi dan keseriusan belajar yang lebih rendah sehingga perkembangan kemampuan membaca Al-Qur’annya belum optimal. Adapun hasil solusi berdasarkan kondisi 20 santri tersebut yaitu 13 santri yang sudah fasih dalam makhraj huruf dan sifat huruf diberikan penguatan melalui latihan lanjutan, murojaah, dan tutor sebaya, sedangkan 7 santri yang kurang optimal mendapat bimbingan individual, pengulangan materi bertahap, serta motivasi dan evaluasi guru.
