Abstract

In current conditions, many people are competing to set up businesses to meet their daily living needs. One of the various ways to improve people's welfare is through small and medium enterprises (SMEs). As many businesses develop and are accompanied by intense competition, many problems will arise and will affect the profits of SMEs. The problem that occurs at UKM Pie Bu Sri is the problem of calculating the optimum profit obtained every day from the production of its activities. The aim of this research is to help calculate the optimum profit for UKM Pie Bu Sri so that it can be done accurately and quickly. In order to achieve this goal, the Simplex Linear Programming Method and QM for Windows Software were used to find the optimum profit estimate obtained in each production activity carried out by UKM Pie Bu Sri within a period of one day. The results of the maximization calculations show that in order to achieve maximum profits, Mrs. Sri must make 60 Brownie Pies and produce 25 Fruit Pies with a profit of IDR 99,500 per day.

Abstract

This research investigates expressive spech acts in intercultural communication as depicted in the film Lost in translation. Focusing on complimenting, critiquing, appreciating, apologising, and expressing confusion, the study draws on Searle’s theory of expressive speech acts, Brown and Levinson’s politeness theory, and Hofstede’s cultural dimensions – particularly individualism and collectivism. Using a qualitative descriptive method, the researcher analyses interactions between American and Japanese characters, exploring how emotions and social intentions between American and Japanese characters, exploring how emotions and social intentions are conveyed acroos cultures. The study finds that American reflecting individualist values, tend to communicate emotions directly, using strategies that promote validation and closeness. Conversely, Japanese speakers, shaped by collectivist norms, prefer indirect, polite speech that priorities harmony and social etiquette. These contrasting pragmaticpoliteness strategies reveal the need for balance and adaptability in intercultural communication. The findings suggest that expressive speech acts are deeply embedded in cultural and social hierarchies, and misinterpretation may lead to misunderstandings or conflicts. The research also highlights the role of the film as a medium for observing authentic communication within a controlled context. Ultimately, the study underlines the importance of pragmatic sensitivity in a globalised world and calls for more research in cross-cultural pragmatics to foster effective and respectful Intercultural interactions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis dan mendeskripsikan pengaruh budaya organisasi dan gaya kepemimpinan servant leadership terhadap kepuasan kerja dengan Organizational Citizenship Behavior sebagai variabel intervening di RSKP Karawang. Metode penelitian yaitu metode asosiatif kuantitatif dengan menggunakan aplikasi SPSS 20. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan survei dengan sampel sebanyak 100 orang pegawai RSKP Karawang. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu pengaruh budaya organisasi, gaya kepemimpinan servant leadership, dan Organizational Citizenship Behavior terhadap kepuasan kerja secara simultan yaitu berdasarkan nilai Sig. F change dari tabel output diketahui nilai sig. (2-tailed) adalah sebesar 0,000<0,05, yang berarti terdapat korelasi yang signifikan secara simultan antara variabel budaya organisasi, gaya kepemimpinan servant leadership, dan Organizational Citizenship Behavior dengan kepuasan kerja. Nilai R yaitu sebesar 0,789 yang bernilai positif maka itu artinya hubungan antara budaya organisasi, gaya kepemimpinan servant leadership, dan Organizational Citizenship Behavior dengan kepuasan kerja bersifat positif atau dengan kata lain semakin meningkatnya budaya organisasi, gaya kepemimpinan servant leadership, dan Organizational Citizenship Behavior maka akan meningkat pula kepuasan kerja. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini yaitu Organizational Citizenship Behavior merupakan variabel intervening yang memediasi pengaruh budaya organisasi dan gaya kepemimpinan servant leadership terhadap kepuasan kerja di RSKP Karawang. Semakin baik Organizational Citizenship Behavior yang diterapkan di rumah sakit maka akan semakin meningkatkan pengaruh budaya organisasi dan gaya kepemimpinan servant leadership terhadap kepuasan kerja.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the readability and semantic equivalence in the translation of a bilingualchildren’s book entitled The Amazing Invisible Tiger. The primary focus lies in how meaning from thesource text is transferred into the target language while considering the characteristics of child readers,particularly in terms of sentence structure, word choice, language style, emotional expression, andcultural context. A qualitative descriptive method was employed to analyze the translation data, withspecific categories including sentence length and complexity, lexical familiarity, child – appropriatelanguage style, as well as lexical accuracy, emotional nuance, and cultural adaptation. The findingsindicate that while most of the translations are lexically accurate, several shifts and shortcomingsremain in the expressive style and cultural relevance, which affect readability and reader engagement.Overly literal translations tend to produce rigid and emotionally flat sentences, reducing the story’sappeal for children. Furthermore, the lack of cultural adaptation contributes to narrative dissonancewithin the local context. These findings highlight the importance of a multidimensional approach inchildren’s book translation one that not only emphasizes accuracy but also ensures the languageremains vivid, emotionally engaging, and relatable to children’s linguistic and social experiences. Thisresearch is expected to contribute to children’s translation practices and offer insights into strategies that are more responsive to the psychological needs of young readers.
