Abstract

The artificial technology revolution has penetrated various sectors including intelligence education, but its implementation in basic Islamic education remains limited and has not been comprehensively explored. This gap creates an urgency to examine the potential of ChatGPT artificial intelligence as a learning assistant in the context of Islamic education at the elementary level. This research aims to analyze the effectiveness of ChatGPT integration in improving understanding of Islamic concepts among Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic Elementary School) students. Using a mixed method approach with sequential explanatory design, this research involved 80 students from grades IV-VI from two Madrasah Ibtidaiyahs in Jember and 12 teachers and administrators. The experimental group received ChatGPT-assisted learning developed for basic Aqidah Akhlak (Islamic Creed and Ethics) and Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence) materials, while the control group followed conventional methods. The results showed a significant improvement in conceptual understanding in the experimental group (Cohen's d = 1.38) compared to the control group. Qualitative analysis revealed important findings about the transformation of the teacher's role, the technology adaptation process, and AI integration models based on Islamic pedagogical principles such as tawazun (balance), tabayyun (verification), uswah (exemplary), and ta'awun (collaboration). The research results also showed that ChatGPT's effectiveness varied based on the type of material, with procedural materials such as Fiqh benefiting more compared to abstract conceptual materials such as Aqidah. This research contributes to the development of an integrative model of ChatGPT usage in Islamic education that enriches the learning experience while maintaining traditional values.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji secara komprehensif pengaturan tindak pidana perzinaan dalam Kitab Undang-Undang Hukum Pidana (KUHP) baru yang telah menimbulkan kontroversi di masyarakat. Penelitian menggunakan metode yuridis normatif dengan pendekatan perbandingan hukum untuk menganalisis konstruksi hukum pasal perzinaan dalam KUHP baru dibandingkan dengan KUHP lama. Analisis difokuskan pada aspek filosofis, sosiologis, dan yuridis pengaturan tersebut serta dampaknya terhadap penegakan hukum pidana di Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaturan perzinaan dalam KUHP baru mengalami perubahan signifikan dalam hal subjek hukum, elemen delik, dan mekanisme penegakan hukum. Perubahan ini berimplikasi pada perlindungan hak asasi manusia, khususnya hak privasi dan kebebasan beragama. Dari perspektif penegakan hukum, implementasi pasal perzinaan menimbulkan tantangan teknis dalam pembuktian, beban kerja aparatur penegak hukum, dan potensi kriminalisasi berlebihan. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa diperlukan harmonisasi antara nilai-nilai moral masyarakat dengan prinsip-prinsip hukum pidana modern untuk mewujudkan penegakan hukum yang berkeadilan dan berkemanusiaan.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct an in-depth analysis of the concept of ta’dib in the thought of Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas and to explore its relevance to the implementation of the ISMUBA curriculum. The main focus of this research is to explain how the Islamic educational principles proposed by al-Attas can serve as a normative framework for reviewing the ISMUBA curriculum. This study adopts a qualitative approach through a literature review and descriptive analysis method. The data sources include the original works of Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas, official ISMUBA curriculum documents, and scholarly articles on ISMUBA curriculum implementation obtained from Google Scholar. The findings reveal that the implementation of the ISMUBA curriculum reflects the core principles of ta’dib as articulated by Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas, particularly in its emphasis on the integration of knowledge (‘ilm), action (‘amal), and ethics (adab) within the educational process. The ISMUBA curriculum not only targets cognitive achievement but is deliberately designed to shape students' character and spirituality through a holistic and integrative approach. Nevertheless, practical challenges such as limited teacher training and inadequate infrastructural support remain significant obstacles that need to be addressed. This research can serve as a reference for curriculum developers and Muhammadiyah education practitioners in designing instructional strategies oriented toward the cultivation of noble character.
