Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a vital role in the economy of Lampung Province, Indonesia; however, they face challenges including limited financial management knowledge, ineffective digital marketing, and suboptimal product packaging. This community service initiative aims to address these issues by providing targeted training to MSMEs in South Lampung and Pringsewu Regencies. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) methodology, the program enhances participants' financial literacy, equips them with digital marketing strategies, and encourages innovation in product packaging. The results demonstrate a significant improvement in MSME competitiveness, market reach, and revenue generation. Additionally, the program highlights the integration of cultural and sustainable practices in product packaging to align with global trends and consumer preferences. This holistic approach not only empowers MSMEs but also fosters regional economic development, offering a replicable model for similar community service initiatives.

Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to analyze the impact of the global pandemic on the operations, sustainability, and growth of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and examine the role of MSME financing from the perspective of Islamic economic theory as an instrument to support the recovery and sustainability of MSME businesses during the pandemic.Design/methodology: This research employs a qualitative approach to explore the impact of the global pandemic on micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and the role of technology and Islamic financing. The study involves 15 MSME owners and managers, utilizing semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions for data collection.Findings The research found that the global pandemic caused a significant decline in MSME revenues and activities, especially in Bandar Lampung City and West Lampung Regency with a 30-40 percent decline. Key factors include decreased demand, supply chain disruptions and social restrictions. While some MSMEs are turning to digital technology to adapt, many rely on self-financing rather than bank loans. Islamic finance principles have the potential to support the recovery of MSMEs, but the low utilization of Islamic financing points to the need to improve Islamic finance literacy and accessibility.Practical Implications: Based on the finding that MSMEs that quickly adopt digital technologies are able to survive better during the pandemic, the government and relevant agencies should develop more widespread and affordable digital literacy programs. These programs should be designed to improve the technological skills of MSME players, including the use of e-commerce, digital marketing and digital financial platforms. This will help MSMEs to be more competitive and flexible in the face of market changes.Originality/Value: This research is unique because it combines an Islamic perspective, particularly in Islamic financing, with an analysis of business technology in the midst of a global crisis such as the pandemic

Purpose: This study examines the influence of psychological factors, such as job insecurity and job satisfaction, on the performance of contract employees at Indomaret in Bandar Lampung. Additionally, it analyzes these issues through the lens of Islamic business ethics, emphasizing principles such as justice, security, welfare, and social responsibility in workplace relationships. Research Methodology: A quantitative approach with a descriptive method was employed. The study population comprised contract employees at Indomaret outlets in Bandar Lampung, Indonesia. Data were collected via questionnaires distributed through purposive sampling and analyzed using SmartPLS to assess the direct effects of job insecurity and satisfaction on employee performance. Results: Job insecurity negatively and significantly affects employee performance, whereas job satisfaction has a positive and significant impact. From an Islamic ethical perspective, job insecurity is seen not only as an economic issue but also as a test of faith, while job satisfaction encompasses spiritual and moral values, as work is considered worship. Conclusion: The findings highlight the importance of addressing psychological factors in employee performance and integrating ethical principles into workplace management to foster fairness, productivity, and employee well-being. Limitations: This study is limited by its focus on a specific region and company, potentially reducing generalizability. Additionally, self-reported data may introduce a subjective bias. Contribution: This research integrates Islamic ethical values into human resource management, offering theoretical insights and practical recommendations for creating ethical, just, and productive work environments.
