Abstract

Studying overtime is a common habit among students, especially when facing deadlines for assignments and exams, which has the potential to affect health and negatively affect sleep quality. Continuous overtime study system will affect the quality of sleep of students resulting in physical and mental disorders. This situation will affect the academic decline, namely the results of the preparation of tasks to be less than optimal. Many students feel pressured by their academic load and daily activities, causing serious sleep disturbances. The large number of tasks that accumulate and the continuous overtime study system will affect the quality of student sleep, resulting in physical and mental balance disorders. This situation will affect academic decline, namely learning outcomes and assignments become less than optimal. This study aims to analyze the effect of overtime learning system on the quality of sleep of students of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia Purwakarta Campus. The research we conducted used a quantitative approach by conducting a survey of 50 students from various study programs. Data were analyzed using normality, homogeneity and wilxocon tests to identify the relationship between the influence of the overtime study system and sleep quality. The results show that there is a significant influence between the overtime study system and students' sleep quality, with disrupted sleep patterns and daytime fatigue leading to a decrease in students' concentration.

Abstract

Abstract

Primary school students' understanding of science concepts remains low due to teacher-centered learning and minimal use of supporting media. This condition indicates the need for a learning model that can increase active participation and facilitate meaningful inquiry activities. This study aims to determine the effect of the PhET Simulation-assisted Problem Based Learning model on the ability to understand science concepts in energy change material. This study used a quantitative method with a One Group Pretest Posttest Design involving 22 fourth-grade students at an elementary school in Purwakarta. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test based on seven concept comprehension indicators. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Shapiro Wilk normality test, Wilcoxon test, and N Gain calculation. The results showed an increase in conceptual understanding after the learning model was implemented, as indicated by an increase in the average pretest score to the average posttest score and an N Gain score of 0.73 in the high category. The Wilcoxon test confirmed a significant difference between the initial ability and the ability after the treatment. These findings confirm that PhET Simulation-assisted Problem Based Learning is effective in supporting science concept comprehension and has the potential to be a more interactive and meaningful learning alternative for elementary school students.
