Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine how fourth-grade students at MI Al Barokah An Nur Jember use teaching aids to learn about the excretory system. A qualitative descriptive method was used, with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that teaching aids are crucial in helping students understand the components of the excretory system in more detail. The tools used include replicas of human excretory organs, such as the kidneys and lungs. Teaching aids serve as visual media used by teachers to attract students' attention and enhance their engagement in the learning process. They also stimulate students' motivation to learn and assist them in retaining the concepts being taught. Therefore, teaching aids have proven to be beneficial in supporting science learning in the fourth grade at MI Al Barokah An Nur Jember.

Abstract

This study originated from the issue of students’ limited comprehension of healthy and nutritious food concepts, which influences their lack of awareness in practicing a balanced diet in daily life. The conventional learning approach with minimal integration of visual aids has made students less engaged and hindered their overall understanding of the material. The primary objective of this research is to enhance fourth-grade students’ understanding of healthy and nutritious food at MI Al-Barokah through the application of picture-based learning media. Planing, implementation, observation, and reflection were the two stages of Classroom Action Research (CAR) that was used in the research. The participants were 25 fourth-grade students of MI Al-Barokah. Data were gathered through observations, interviews, and achievement tests, and analyzed using both qualitative and quantitative descriptive methods. The findings revealed a marked improvement in students’ understanding after the introduction of picture media, as reflected in the increasing average learning scores across cycles, along with greater motivation, participation, and engagement in classroom activities. The integration of picture media proved effective in facilitating a clearer, more engaging, and meaningful grasp of healthy and nutritious food concepts. These results suggest that picture-based instructional media can serve as a valuable strategy to improve the quality of thematic learning in elementary education, especially in lessons concerning healthy living and balanced nutrition.

Abstract

This study aims to identify errors in the formulation of Classroom Action Research (CAR) titles, analyze the patterns of errors that emerge, and explain their impact on the direction of the research. The study employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method, with data sources obtained from the Google Scholar and Scopus databases. The selection process involved the stages of identification, screening, eligibility assessment, and inclusion, resulting in 11 relevant articles. Data analysis was conducted qualitatively through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that errors in formulating CLR titles can be classified into three categories: structural, substantive, and linguistic errors. The most frequently identified errors include unclear actions in the title, the use of overly general variables, and the use of ineffective language. These errors result in inaccuracies in the research direction, such as inconsistencies between the title and the research problem, objectives, and methods. Therefore, the formulation of PTK titles must be done carefully, clearly, and specifically to accurately reflect the research content and support the coherence among research components.
