Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is now growing into a global health problem, its prevalence in 2019 was 371 million cases and is predicted to increase by 55 percent to 592 million in 2035. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of diabetes self-care management education on the knowledge of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus sufferers in the Pariaman Health Center Work Area, Pariaman City. The type of quasi-experimental research with one group pretest posttest design. Sampling was carried out using the total sampling technique, namely 36 respondents. The data collection tool used was a questionnaire filled in by the researcher and data processing was carried out using a computerized system. The results showed that most of the respondents (61.1%) had a low level of knowledge before being given diabetes self-care management education. Almost all respondents (86.1%) experienced an increase in their knowledge after being given diabetes self-care management education. Statistical analysis showed that there was an effect of diabetes self-care management education on increasing knowledge in type 2 diabetes mellitus sufferers in the Pariaman Health Center Work Area (p-value = 0.000 <0.05). In conclusion, providing diabetes self-care management education increases the knowledge of type 2 diabetes mellitus sufferers in the Pariaman Health Center Work Area.

Abstract

Thesis assignment is a difficult final assignment and takes a long time so that it has an impact on psychology and physical so that it gives rise to negative attitudes in making the title or the process of working on it. Difficulties in doing thesis assignments faced by a nursing student can trigger stress. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between peer social support and stress levels in students working on their thesis at STIKES Piala Sakti Pariaman. This type of quantitative research with a descriptive analytical design with a Cross Sectional Study approach. The research sample consisted of 36 people. Sampling was done by total sampling. Statistical tests using Chi Square. The results of the study showed that most (61.1%) respondents received social support from peers in compiling their thesis. Most (72.2%) respondents experienced mild stress in compiling their thesis. The results of the square test statistical test obtained a value of P = 0.005 (P <0.05). In conclusion, there is a significant relationship between peer social support and stress levels in students working on their thesis at STIKES Piala Sakti Pariaman.

Abstract

Nurses as health workers are required to improve their knowledge and provide maximum service in order to provide optimal service to patients, especially emergency services which can be assessed from the nurse's ability in terms of responsiveness, timely service, good attitude in providing service, concern and attention in providing service and can improve the quality of service. Nurses must improve their professionalism in implementing nursing care, as well as understand the assessment of primary and secondary surveys, carry out triage quickly and correctly. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and perception of nurses with triage skills in the Emergency Room (IGD) of Hospitals in Pariaman City in 2024. This type of quantitative research uses a Cross Sectional Study approach. The study was conducted on September 13-20, 2024 in the Emergency Room (IGD) of the Hospital in Pariaman. The research sample was 33 people. Sampling by Total Sampling. Statistical test using Chi Square degree of significance (p value <α 0.05) The results of the study showed that more than half of the respondents had good knowledge, namely 26 23 (69.7%). The most respondents' perception was good perception, namely 16 (48.5%). More than half of the respondents had good triage skills, namely 25 (75.8%). Conclusion, There is a relationship between nurses' knowledge and perceptions with triage skills in the Emergency Room (IGD) of Hospitals in Pariaman City in 2024. Suggestion, This study is expected to be a guideline for nurses in improving triage skills in nurses in emergency services
