Abstract

This study examines the contribution of mangrove forests to coastal protection in Paluh Kurau, North Sumatra, which is experiencing severe abrasion. Mangrove forests in this area play an important role in dampening waves and maintaining soil stability. However, mangrove forests in Paluh Kurau face serious threats such as land conversion, lack of community participation, and dependence on the government for rehabilitation. As a result, there has been a decrease in the area of mangrove forests and an increase in coastal abrasion. Efforts to conserve and rehabilitate mangrove forests have been carried out by the community and government through mangrove planting and seeding. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to analyze the condition of abrasion, the role of mangroves, and conservation efforts in Paluh Kurau. The results show the importance of active community involvement and government support in maintaining the sustainability of mangrove forests to protect coastal areas from abrasion.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji potensi desa wisata dalam mendorong peningkatan ekonomi lokal serta transformasi sosial masyarakat, dengan studi kasus di Desa Wisata Harau, Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota, Sumatera Barat. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengembangan desa wisata berbasis partisipasi masyarakat berkontribusi secara signifikan terhadap peningkatan pendapatan, penciptaan lapangan kerja baru, serta pergeseran struktur ekonomi dari sektor agraris ke sektor jasa pariwisata. Selain itu, pengembangan desa wisata juga mendorong pelestarian budaya lokal, peningkatan keterampilan masyarakat, dan kesadaran akan kelestarian lingkungan. Kendati demikian, tantangan seperti keterbatasan infrastruktur, pengelolaan yang belum optimal, dan kebutuhan pelatihan masyarakat masih menjadi hambatan. Secara keseluruhan, Desa Wisata Harau dapat menjadi model pengembangan desa yang berkelanjutan dan inklusif.

Abstract

This research examines the process of managing educational facilities and infrastructure at SMP Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan, which is an important factor in supporting the smooth running of teaching and learning activities. The aim of this study is to assess the extent to which the management of facilities and infrastructure at the school complies with applicable regulations. Data was collected through observation methods, documentation studies, and structured interviews. Research findings reveal that the management of facilities and infrastructure at SMP Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan includes the stages of needs planning, utilization, inventory recording, maintenance and asset write-off. The planning stage begins with needs analysis and regular evaluation, while the use of facilities is monitored by a special team that carries out routine data collection and evaluation. Inventory is carried out in an organized and documented manner, both manually and digitally. Maintenance of facilities is carried out routinely by school staff to maintain suitability for use, and disposal of items is carried out according to procedures to reduce workload and prevent waste. In general, the management of facilities and infrastructure at SMP Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan runs well and supports the learning process, although there are still several deficiencies in the availability of infrastructure that need to be corrected.

Abstract

Educational facilities and educational infrastructure are not the same. Educational facilities are all facilities (equipment, supplies, materials, and furniture) that are directly used in the teaching and learning process, both movable and immovable, so that the achievement of educational goals can run smoothly, orderly, effectively, and efficiently, such as buildings, classrooms, chairs, and learning media tools, libraries, school offices, student council rooms, parking lots, and laboratory rooms. This study aims to determine the process of management activities in the field of facilities and infrastructure at SMP Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan and the suitability of the process of management activities for facilities and infrastructure at SMP Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan. The results of the study indicate that the management of facilities and infrastructure at SMP Negeri 1 Percut Sei Tuan includes planning, utilization, inventory, maintenance, and disposal. Planning is carried out based on a needs analysis to support learning. Facilities are utilized optimally until they can no longer be used. Inventory is carried out in an orderly manner to facilitate supervision and maintenance. Maintenance is carried out routinely by school staff, while disposal is carried out according to procedures for efficiency and workload reduction. In general, management has been running well, although there are still infrastructure limitations that need to be improved.
