Abstract

This study aims to analyze the film “Aku Penggerak Mimpi” using a semiotic approach and evaluate its relevance as Indonesian language teaching material in schools. Roland Barthes’ semiotic approach is used to explore the denotative, connotative, and mythical meanings contained in the film. This study also uses a qualitative descriptive method to understand how this film can support Indonesian language learning, especially in improving students’ analytical skills towards narratives, morals, and culture conveyed through visual media. The results of the study show that this film contains various signs, symbols, and meanings that are relevant to learning. The signs found not only depict struggles and hopes but also reflect moral values that are important to students, such as the spirit of hard work, the importance of education, and family warmth. The relevance of this film to Indonesian language teaching materials can be seen from its ability to teach students to analyze narrative texts visually and contextually, as well as hone students’ understanding of the socio-cultural context reflected in the story. Thus, this film has great potential as an innovative teaching material that motivates students to think critically and creatively. Educators are advised to utilize this film as part of a learning strategy that supports the Indonesian language curriculum and enhances students’ learning experiences. Abstract

This study aims to examine the representation of nationalism values in informational texts of the Grade III Indonesian language textbook based on the Kurikulum Merdeka. Using a qualitative content analysis approach, the research focused on identifying key nationalism values such as patriotism, unity, appreciation of national symbols, and respect for cultural diversity. The primary data source was the textbook “Bahasa Indonesia: Kawan Seiring”, published by the Ministry of Education in 2022. The findings reveal that these values are presented both narratively and contextually, primarily through stories and descriptions of students’ everyday activities. Patriotism and cultural diversity appeared most frequently and were embedded in relatable and age-appropriate content. However, the textbook showed limited representation of national symbols and heroes, indicating a need for more balanced ideological content. Despite this gap, the study concludes that the textbook has the potential to support the internalization of civic and national values among elementary school students. By integrating character education into language learning, the book contributes not only to literacy development but also to shaping students’ national identity. These insights are expected to serve as valuable input for teachers, textbook writers, and policymakers in creating more value-oriented learning materials.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan: 1) isu kontemporer pendidikan Islam tentang seberapa rendah target hafalan Quran jenjang SD; 2) isu kontemporer pendidikan Islam tentang seberapa rendah target hafalan Quran jenjang SMP. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode penelitian perpustakaan. Melalui metode ini setiap isu kotemporer dalam artikel ini dikaji dari perspektif data sekunder; data hasil kajian dari berbagai peneliti lain yang diperoleh dari publikasi elektronik berupa artikel ilmiah jurnal online, dan buku sekolah elektronik, referensi elektronik dari para ekspet. Jawaban atas rumusan masalah tentang isu kontemporer pendidikan Islam juga didasari kepada media teknologi informasi digital lain yakni channel youtube video yang diunggah oleh para ustadz/ustadzah masyhur berbahasa Indonesia dan atau berbahasa Melayu. Data rendahnya target hafalan Quran mulai dari jenjang SD sampai dengan jenjang SMP dikumpulkan dan dianalisis secara bersamaan tanpa menunggu semua data terkumpul. Kegiatan pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik dokumentasi yakni BSE Pendidikan Agama Islam dan Budi Pekerti mulai dari jenjang SD kelas tinggi sampai dengan jenjang SMP, berbagai artikel ilmiah jurnal online, dan setiap data sekunder lainnya yang bersumber dari media elektronik yang berhasil diraih. Teknik diskusi terfokus atau focus group discussion dalam penelitian kolaborasi ini merupakan teknik andalan penelitian kualitatif ini. Hasil penelitian: 1) target hafalan Quran jenjang SD yang dibuat oleh perencana pendidikan Islam sangat rendah yakni hanya 0,65 halaman sampai dengan 0,89 halaman per tahun; 2) target hafalan Quran jenjang SMP yang dibuat oleh perencana pendidikan Islam juga sangat rendah yakni hanya 0,57 halaman sampai dengan 0,87 halaman per tahun. Kata Kunci: rendahnya target, hafalan Quran, PAI dan Budi Pekerti, isu kontemporer, pendidikan Islam
