Abstract

PMO addiction (Pornography, Masturbation, and Orgasm) is a serious issue that negatively impacts mental, physical, and spiritual health, particularly for the youth in the GMIM Tasik Wangurer congregation in the Bitung VIII region. This study aims to examine the issue of PMO addiction from a Christian ethical perspective and provide appropriate treatment recommendations. The urgency of this research lies in the widespread impact of PMO addiction on individual and church community life, as well as the need for a holistic approach that aligns with Christian values for addressing this issue. The research method includes literature review, in-depth interviews with involved youth, and consultations with theologians and mental health experts. The results of the study indicate that PMO addiction contradicts Christian ethical principles such as holiness, self-control, love, and the calling to live a holy life. The implementation of the research findings includes faith-building through pastoral counseling services, Bible study and prayer, and mentoring programs; education and awareness through seminars, training, and support groups; as well as positive direction through talent development and character building. By applying these measures, it is hoped that youth experiencing PMO addiction can recover and lead lives that align with their calling as holy and pleasing children of God

Abstract

This article aims to examine in depth how Christian values can be integrated into nursing ethics in professional practice. In the world of nursing that continues to develop and faces various moral dilemmas, the role of spiritual and religious values is becoming increasingly important, especially values derived from Christian teachings. Values such as love, humility, justice, respect for human dignity, and selfless service are integral parts of Christianity that are in line with ethical principles in nursing. With a qualitative approach through a literature review from various reliable sources, this article identifies a strong relationship between the moral principles of Christianity and the principles of professional nursing ethics. The results of the study indicate that nurses who internalize and apply Christian values in their practice will have higher ethical sensitivity, deep moral reflection skills, and more compassionate and holistic services. These findings underline the importance of faith-based continuing education and development for nursing staff, so that they can provide health services that are not only professional, but also spiritually meaningful

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the income and welfare of anchovy pond farmers in Desa Kumu and Rap-Rap, Minahasa, within the framework of blue economy sustainability.. A quantitative approach with an explanatory descriptive design was employed, combining structured interviews, a validated questionnaire, and direct field observations. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple linear regression, with classical assumption tests (normality, multicollinearity, heteroscedasticity) conducted to ensure model validity. The results show that the average net daily income for pond farmers ranges from IDR 100,000 to IDR 135,000, which is sufficient for household needs but subject to fluctuations due to market prices and environmental conditions. The regression model (R² = 0.76, F = 18.24, p < 0.01) reveals that direct market access (β = 0.55, p = 0.000) and working capital (β = 0.42, p = 0.002) have a significant positive impact on income, while operational costs have a significant negative effect (β = -0.38, p = 0.005). In contrast, the use of environmentally friendly technology does not show a significant influence (p = 0.162), primarily due to limited adoption. Most farmers rely on personal savings for capital and sell their produce through local collectors at non-negotiable prices. Although 80% have heard of the blue economy, practical understanding and implementation remain low, hindered by high equipment costs and lack of training. The discussion highlights that economic empowerment, particularly through improved market access and financial support, is more critical for immediate welfare improvement than environmental technology adoption. The findings extend previous research by integrating socio-economic and sustainability factors into a single analytical model. Based on these results, it is recommended that local authorities facilitate the establishment of marketing cooperatives, provide microfinance programs, and deliver targeted training on eco-friendly aquaculture practices to enhance both income and environmental sustainability.

Abstract

This study proposes a transformative economic innovation education model to strengthen the economic resilience of fishing communities in the Talaud Islands, Indonesia, where livelihoods are highly vulnerable to climate variability and market instability. Given the absence of established diversification initiatives, a participatory multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) approach was adopted to identify and prioritize feasible product alternatives. The research was conducted in Gemeh District using a mixed-methods design, integrating qualitative insights with quantitative analysis. Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) involving 25 fishermen and five community representatives were conducted to identify eight potential diversification options based on local resource availability and cultural relevance. Subsequently, a decision matrix was constructed using data from 20 active fishermen who evaluated alternatives across seven criteria: initial capital, skill level, weather resilience, income potential, market access, community support, and environmental sustainability. The ANP-EWM-TOPSIS hybrid method was applied to generate a balanced weighting system, combining subjective judgments (via ANP) and objective data variation (via EWM) before the final ranking. Wall décor from marine materials emerged as the top-ranked alternative (CC = 0.817), followed by fermented fish sauce (CC = 0.761), and seaweed farming (CC = 0.739), due to low capital requirements, high weather resilience, and strong community alignment. In contrast, floating net cage aquaculture ranked lowest owing to its high risk and climate vulnerability. These findings demonstrate that land-based, culture-rooted, and waste-utilizing activities offer the most viable pathways for adaptive livelihoods. They concluded that economic resilience can be enhanced through education models that integrate local knowledge, participatory decision-making, and sustainable value addition. This study provides a replicable framework for empowering remote coastal communities in Indonesia and other archipelagic regions.

Abstract

Abstract This study examines the role of women in the Maengket dance-based creative economy in Minahasa, North Sulawesi, focusing on their economic contributions, welfare outcomes, and the structural challenges they face. Employing a mixed-methods design, data were collected through surveys with 20 female practitioners, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and participant observation. The findings reveal that while women constitute the core workforce in Maengket performance, costume production, and training, their economic recognition remains limited. Most respondents are young (19–35 years), educated (75% at least high school graduates), and have been involved for over three years, yet average annual income from performances ranges between IDR 390,000 and IDR 520,000—far below regional living standards. Income instability, lack of formal financial systems, and exclusion from decision-making processes underscore their marginalization in the value chain. Despite the high demand for cultural performances nationally and internationally, women face barriers, including limited digital literacy, minimal access to capital, and male-dominated event management structures. Thematic analysis highlights the dual burden of cultural and domestic responsibilities, as well as aspirations for entrepreneurship, digital marketing, and collective economic models such as cooperatives. The SWOT analysis further identifies strong cultural capital and networked studios as strategic assets, while dependence on government events, weak branding, and insufficient innovation constrain sustainability. This study contributes to the literature on gender and creative economies by demonstrating how cultural production, despite being central to identity and tourism, often fails to translate into equitable economic outcomes for women. This calls for inclusive policies that integrate financial inclusion, digital empowerment, and gender-responsive cultural governance. The study concludes that the sustainable development of traditional arts requires not only cultural preservation but also the formal recognition and economic empowerment of women as key agents of the creative economy.
