Abstract

Human trafficking is like an iceberg phenomenon. The number that hiding under the surface is greater far beyond what we can see. Human trafficking can be happened to anybody and anytime, including our relatives and neighbors who lack of knowledge and education about the subjectThus, the need for communications campaign to disseminate the knowledge necessary to prevent the human trafficking. Therefor, this paper scrutinized the campaign to raise the awareness on human trafficking by Computer Mediated Communication especially twitter. One of the interesting fact is twittter account @FemaleNotThing with tagline “she is not for sale” give an education and knowledge as communication campaign on human trafficking isues.This paper objective is to describe how the perception of student in Prof.Dr.Moestopo (Beragama) University on human trafficking issues from the @FemaleNotThing account and to examined the effectiveness of communication campaign by twitter account. One of the finding shown that 75% of students (n=41) aware about human trafficking issues.The use of new media in the form of communications campaign can be an alternative for the solution to introduce and raise awareness even trigger social movement on issues of human trafficking.We recommend the use of large-scale communication campaign integrated with official agency program nationally to combat human trafficking.

Abstract

Recently corruption and women amid a debate in Indonesia, since several names involved to corruption cases in Indonesia. Media also intensively reported corruption cases involving women. But unfortunately, elections raised angle was often not based on the main theme of corruption, but rather from their feminine side. In fact, the chosen diction tends to expose a side of sexuality with a description of the physical appearance. This research aims to determine how the women featured in the news on Detik.com. As one of the popular news site in Indonesia, Detik.com has a hits calculation system and page views to determine the amount of potential readers. The method used in this research is qualitative, descriptive. Using critical paradigm, and model of Sara Mills’s critical discourse analysis, focuses on two main aspects is subject-object position and readers position. Based on the results of this research, women are often raised in the news based on the stereotypes attached to her. Moreover, high ratings for coverage about women shows that our society are more interested in things that are sensational.

Abstract

Aisyiyah as one of the Muhammadiyah women's organizations has a means of communication through social media that aims to provide information for progressive women. The Instagram account Aisyiyah currently has 7425 followers with the amount of material posted 561. One of the materials that is the focus of socialization on reproductive health and women's nutrition. As an interactive media tool, Instagram is used to provide knowledge through means of live IG, posting photos, and polling. What is the effectiveness of using Aisyiyah's Instagram account in the dissemination of reproductive health and women's nutrition. The theory used in this study, computer mediated communication. This type of research is qualitative - descriptive with data collection carried out through interviews, observation and literature studies. The results of this study can illustrate the use of social media by Aisyiyah especially in reproductive socialization and nutrition for women.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic is one of the most widely covered news stories in 2020, particularly in March 2020, when the COVID-19 virus made its first appearance in Indonesia. The government also responded to the Covid-19 virus’s entry into Indonesia by issuing health, social, and economic policies. Reporting on the government’s actions is undoubtedly one of the Indonesian media’s objectives. Kompas.com is one of the media outlets that publish news about the government’s actions. The seven news articles published by Kompas.com in March 2020 are the subject of this study. This research employs a qualitative approach and analyzes data using Robert N. Entman’s framing model analysis. According to Robert Entman’s analysis, news framing can be viewed in two dimensions: issue selection and aspect highlighting. By analyzing seven news articles published by Kompas.com using Robert N. Entman’s framing model, it was concluded that the construction of Kompas.com news was that the government was having difficulty dealing with the spread of COVID-19 in Indonesia.

Abstract

Mass media is one of the important things in human life to get information and entertainment. Mass media, one of which is television, has been around for a long time and has used women as an attraction. Women are used for their bodies and sensuality in television programs to make them more attractive and serve as entertainment content. This study aims to determine the semiotic analysis of the exploitation of women's sensuality and to find out the semiotic representation of the exploitation of women's sensuality in the Tonight Show NET.TV program, especially the episode on February 21, 2020. The method used is Roland Barthes' Semiotics and the theory of Gender, Expression, and Feminism as theory supporting this research. In general, the results of the analysis of this study found that the denotative, connotative, and mythical meanings contained in the NET.TV Tonight Show Program were seen from several signs such as the appearance of female guest stars, facial expressions, and dialogue between the host and guest stars that showed sexual context so that the show is entertaining and funny. This ultimately represents the exploitation or use of women's sensuality even in the form of jokes or chatter. For that, a great awareness is needed not to use women in the mass media industry, as well as educating the public about gender equality.

Abstract

Kebijakan yang dilakukan oleh Pemprov DKI Jakarta dalam pelayanan keterbukaan informasi publik sebagai amanah dari Undang-Undang No. 14 tahun 2008 tentang Keterbukaan Informasi Publik. Implementasi keterbukaan informasi di Provinsi DKI Jakarta, daerah yang memiliki posisi dan peran yang sangat strategis dalam mengimplementasikan UU Keterbukaan Informasi Publik. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana implementasi program Jakarta Open Data oleh Humas Pemprov DKI Jakarta. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus dengan paradigma konstruktivisme. Objek penelitian ini adalah bidang Humas Pemprov DKI Jakarta dan Tenaga Ahli Informasi Publik sebagai pelasana program tersebut. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan wawancara. Teknik pemeriksaan keabsahan data dilakukan melalui triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian ini adalah dalam rangka mewujudkan Kota Jakarta menjadi Smart City, maka diciptakanlah portal open data yang menyuguhkan data dari Kota Jakarta secara akuntabel serta transparan dalam rangka meningkatkan kepercayaan masyarakat kepada pemerintah. Implementasi kebijakan program Jakarta Open Data dapat dilihat dari hasil kerja Humas Pemprov DKI Jakarta yang mampu memberikan informasi secara terbuka tentang program dan kebijakan dari Pemprov DKI Jakarta.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas strategi komunikasi melalui media sosial Instagram dalam kegiatan Desa/Kelurahan Tangguh Bencana (DESTANA). Fasilitasi Penguatan Ketangguhan Masyarakat   IDRIP DESTANA dilaksanakan di empat provinsi Sumatera Barat, Bengkulu, Lampung dan Banten. Instagram digunakan sebagai salah satu media yang memiliki keragaman konten dan populer di kalangan Millenial dan gen Z. Akun @destana.wilayah1 digunakan sebagai sarana sosialisasi kegiatan program DESTANA yang berlangsung di 54 Desa/ Kelurahan di 4 provinsi. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan untuk menguatkan strategi komunikasi sosialisasi kegiatan DESTANA  yang dilakukan oleh wakil koordinator bidang advokasi dan komunikasi di provinsi Bengkulu, Sumatera Barat, Lampung, dan Banten.  Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini strategi komunikasi akun Instagram @destana.wilayah1 dan akun yang dimiliki oleh masing-masing Desa/Kelurahan dapat mengoptimalkan sosialisasi mengenai kegiatan DESTANA  di masing-masing wilayah hal ini terlihat dari interaksi yang terjalin dalam akun dan tumbuhnya akun secara organik.
