Abstract

In today’s modern era, public awareness of healthy living is steadily increasing. One of the key aspects of maintaining health is the consumption of fruits and vegetables, which serve as vital sources of essential nutrients. The growing demand reflects an increasing societal awareness of the importance of incorporating fruits and vegetables into a healthy diet. However, consumers' purchasing decisions regarding organic products are influenced by specific factors. This study aims to analyze the level of consumer awareness and the determinants influencing the purchase decisions of organic fruits and vegetables in modern markets across Surabaya City. Data were collected from 385 respondents using accidental sampling at eight modern markets. Consumer awareness was measured using a Likert Scale based on five key indicators: knowledge, attitude, consumption behavior, willingness to pay, and accessibility. Factor analysis was conducted using PLS-SEM. The results show that 39.74% of respondents had a very high level of awareness and 60.26% had a high level of awareness regarding organic products, particularly among individuals aged over 55 and those with an income above IDR 6,000,000. This awareness is reflected in consumers’ understanding of the health and environmental benefits of organic products. Path analysis revealed that personal preference, health knowledge, price, availability, income, and location significantly influenced purchasing decisions. In contrast, product quality and taste were not significant, likely due to the limited variety of organic products available in modern markets. These findings highlight the dominance of practical and contextual factors in purchasing decisions, indicating that accessibility and affordability play a more decisive role than intrinsic product attributes in markets with limited options. Abstract

Natural substances are used instead of synthetic chemicals in organic farming, which eschews the use of synthetic insecticides, fertilizers, and plant growth regulators. The purpose of this study is to (1) Identify the role of farmer groups in the development of organic vegetable businesses; and (2) analyze factors that affect the performance of organic vegetable farmer groups.   Technique sampling set is 40 farmers Respondents were selected purposively, taking into account capacity and capability.  Qualitative descriptive analysis and SEM-PLS, two data analysis techniques, are being applied. The findings of this study demonstrate how well-suited a farmer organization to play a role in organic vegetable production from upstream to downstream.  External factor variables have a positive effect on performance variables but are not significant. This is due to the relatively low capacity of farmer group members due to low education. On the other hand, land size, member involvement, production facilities and member access all have an influence on community performance.  The influence of community competence on performance reveals that the initial sample value, 1.146, is positive. This value indicates that there is a favorable association between the competency variable and community performance. However, when linked to the role of the group in terms of marketing access, there is still a need for additional knowledge, skills, and farmers are still very dependent on community leaders for the sale of crops, which has an impact on the fighting power of farmers.

Abstract

BUMDes Manunggal Sejahtera in Mojorejo Village, Magetan Regency, was evaluated for its performance using the Balanced Scorecard approach. This descriptive quantitative-qualitative study involved 65 randomly selected BUMDes members and 15 management tools. Data analysis used IBM SPSS Statistics 25 for validity and reliability testing, and a multi-attribute model to calculate performance scores based on four perspectives: Financial (measured via NPM, ROA, ROE), Customer, Internal Business Process, and Learning & Growth. The results showed the BUMDes' overall performance was "good and satisfactory." The Learning & Growth perspective achieved the highest score (45.84), indicating success in human resource capacity development and organizational innovation. The Customer and Internal Business Process perspectives recorded medium scores, reflecting positive community response and operational efficiency. The Financial perspective ranked lowest, indicating challenges in increasing profitability (NPM), asset utilization (ROA), and equity capital (ROE). These findings underscore the need for specific strategies to strengthen the financial aspect while maintaining excellence in human resource development. Recommendations include optimizing asset management and developing more effective investment policies. Keywords: BUMDes, Performance, Balanced Scorecard, Multi-attribute Model.

Abstract

Women agripreneurs in East Java are critical in supporting household income and contributing to local economic development, especially in rural and vulnerable areas. However, they often face challenges, including limited resource access, fluctuating markets, and external shocks. This study aims to analyze the implementation of sustainable livelihood strategies to enhance the resilience of women agripreneurs and examine the mediating role of innovation capability in strengthening resilience amidst digital socio-economic challenges. Using the Sustainable Livelihood Framework (SLF), this research explores five key pentagonal assets: human, social, natural, physical, and economic capital. A quantitative method was applied through a survey of 70 women agripreneurs across several regions in East Java. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) and VUCA to develop business resilience strategies. The results showed that all five capital assets significantly influence agripreneurial resilience, with social and economic capital playing the most dominant roles. This finding underscores the importance of integrated, asset-based strategies to strengthen women’s adaptive capacity and business sustainability. Meanwhile, Innovative capability does not mediate the sustainable livelihood and resilience strategy. Based on VUCA, the study recommends targeted policies and support programs that enhance women's access to resources, networks, and entrepreneurial skills to build more resilient and inclusive local economies.
