Abstract

Bullying of children is a social problem that is getting more and more attention, especially in rural environments where there are limitations in the child protection system. This study aims to examine the model of resolving bullying cases against children in villages in Cirebon regency with a fair approach, both in formal law and local wisdom. The method used is qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews, observations, and documentation studies of several parties, such as village officials, community leaders, victims, perpetrators, and child protection institutions. Bullying perpetrators are also at risk of experiencing mental health disorders, such as uncontrolled emotional symptoms. On the other hand, children who are victims of bullying will suffer as a result of physical and non-physical violence. One of the steps that can be taken to help perpetrators or victims of bullying is to give more affection, rebuild confidence, and involve them in various positive activities. It is essential to provide an understanding of the adverse effects of bullying. The results of this study show that the fair settlement model combines for restorative mediation, the involvement of indigenous leaders, as well as education and recovery of victim trauma, and the resolution of repeated bullying cases. This study recommends the need for integrity between the state legal system and local values in handling cases of bullying against children.

Abstract

Kuliah Pengabdian Masyarakat (KPM) activity at Ibnu Sina University was conducted to evaluate the level of involvement of residents in RT 01/RW 02, Bengkong Sadai Village, in the fogging outreach program organized by the health department. Through a participatory qualitative method, the KPM team conducted direct observations in the field and held focus group discussions (FGD) with residents and health cadres. The findings showed that although the majority of residents understood the importance of fogging, their level of involvement in the activity was still low, due to a lack of technical understanding and minimal follow- up after the outreach was conducted. As a form of contribution, the KPM team offered solutions through training for health cadres and the development of simple educational media to increase community understanding. This initiative proved to be able to arouse residents' enthusiasm in supporting the implementation of the fogging program. This activity also serves as a real example of synergy between academic circles, village government, and the community. To maintain the sustainability of the program, the team recommends regular accompaniment and a system for monitoring citizen participation on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

Political parties hold a strategic position and serve as a primary pillar in Indonesia's democratic system, acting as a bridge between government policies and the aspirations of the people. However, personal-oligarchic leadership and an inadequate cadre system have resulted in party decision-making being frequently dominated by the interests of individual chairpersons, thereby threatening the future of democracy. An inclusive, transparent, and tiered cadre system is essential to uphold democratic principles in political recruitment and the nomination of public officials. The phenomena of factionalism and internal patronage within parties further exacerbate the political landscape, evidenced by conflict cases in several major parties. The process of electing regional heads, as a key component of democracy, is also influenced by the failures in recruitment. The Constitutional Court's Decision Number 60/PUU-XXII/2024 abolished the discriminatory nomination threshold for regional head candidates that previously disadvantaged smaller parties and independent candidates, thereby broadening opportunities for inclusive political participation. A community-based method is employed in community service within political parties in Tegal Regency to enhance legal literacy regarding this decision, involving party cadres and community leaders through workshops and interactive socialisation. This initiative aims to promote healthy and democratic political participation at the local level, strengthen inclusive democracy, and foster legal awareness among the populace. This study provides a comprehensive overview of the political dynamics and changes in the electoral system within the context of contemporary Indonesian democracy.
