Abstract

Meskipun demikian, belum diketahui tingginya kesuburan tanah desa Aweh. The soil microbial community greatly determines soil fertility, which influences plant growth. Aweh village is known to have a high level of soil fertility, so the rice planted by the residents produces abundant production. However, it is not yet known how high the soil fertility of Aweh Village is. This research aims to determine the microbial community of rice field mud in Aweh Village, Lebak Regency, Banten, using the Winogradsky column as a miniature rice field ecosystem. This research uses the method used by Sergei Winogradsky to study the microbial ecosystem in an aquarium. The Winogradsky column was made by taking mud from Aweh Village, which is planted with high-yielding rice, and adding nutritional supplementation in the form of carbon, minerals, and other organic materials. To determine the influence of abiotic factors in the column, independent variables were added, such as straw, ethanoic acid (vinegar), alkaline solution (detergent), salt, egg shells, and leaves. Microbial growth on the column was then observed every day until the eighth week. There are changes in the colour layers formed on the Winogradsky column, namely black, red, yellow, green, orange, and white, respectively, from top to bottom. The colour layer shows the diversity of microbes present in the column. Based on the results of the analysis of Aweh Village rice field mud, it is rich in Desulfovibrio and Desulfuromonas bacteria. The red colour is from Chromatium or Rhodospirillum bacteria. The yellow colour comes from the bacteria Brevibacteriu linen and Xanthomonadin. The green colour is from Chlorobium bacteria. The orange colour of the Chromatium bacteria. The white colour is from Desulfomaculum and Desulfobacter bacteria. This research provides knowledge about the diversity of microbes that can increase soil fertility.

Abstract

White jasmine (Jasminum sambac) holds strong symbolic and cultural value in various traditional ceremonies in Serang City. This study aims to examine its ethnobotanical role and conservation efforts to preserve its cultural significance and ecological sustainability. A descriptive qualitative method was used with purposive sampling, involving experienced jasmine flower artisans as participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation, then analyzed qualitatively. The results show that white jasmine is used in wedding rituals, purification ceremonies, funerals, and offerings—reflecting spiritual, aesthetic, and medicinal meanings. Its morphological features and active compounds such as linalool and benzyl acetate support its role in tradition and healing. Conservation efforts include sustainable cultivation, public education, and reinforcing cultural values in environmental preservation. This study underscores the importance of integrating cultural heritage and biodiversity conservation to maintain local flora as part of intangible cultural assets.

Abstract

Motivation to learn is an internal process that becomes one of the drivers for students to engage and direct themselves in the learning process to achieve results. To engage and direct themselves in the learning process to achieve the desired results. This study aims to analyze the relationship between biology students’ learning motivation and online learning at one of the universities in Banten, Indonesia. This research uses a descriptive correlation method through a questionnaire filling approach. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS software. The significance value of online learning and student learning motivation shows, Sig. 0.05 = Ho accepted = no difference = online learning data on learning motivation. The results of this study indicate a significant relationship between online learning and student learning motivation. This research has some limitations, such as time constraints, as well as the representation of respondents who may not cover the entire student population.
