Abstract

The fact that local people use plants as materials for their daily needs, be it medicine, art, cosmetics, etc. is called ethnobotany. Ethnobotany is engaged in various fields, one of which is cosmetic ethnobotany. In ancient times cosmetic products have become an important part of people's lives.Its use is widespread for both beauty and health purposes. The use of plants in Sambikiting Village, Sambilawang Village, Waringinkurung District is very diverse in the cosmetic field. Plants that are often used by the community are Magnoiophyta plants, including coconut, guava shoots, betel leaves, and rice.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Ecoprint merupakan salah satu inovasi dalam pembuatan batik yang saat ini sedang popular dilakukan. Pengetahuan Masyarakat tentang ecoprint perlu ditingkatkan sebagai bentuk mengasah kreatif dan pemberdayaan Wanita. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada masyarakat Desa Cokopsulanja Kecamatan Waringinkurung, Kabupaten Serang tentang pembuatan batik ecoprint sebagai langkah preventif dalam pemerdayaan masyarakat dan pembangunan UMKM. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode studi kasus. Tahap awal dilakukan sosialisasi dilakukan di Desa Cokopsulanjana, Kecamatan Waringinkurung dilanjutkan dengan pengambilan data tentang pengetahuan masayarakat. Data diperoleh dengan cara mengumpulkan informasi melalui penyebaran angket dan wawancara terkait pengetahuan tentang ecoprint mulai dari alat, bahan yang digunakan, teknik yang dipakai, proses pembuatan serta prospek ecoprint di Desa Cokopsulanjana. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah pelatihan pembuatan batik ecprint berjalan dengan lancer dan masyarakat sudah cukup paham terkait pengetahuan tentang ecoprint. Kemudian pengetahuan dan tanggapan masyarakat terkait perkembangan batik ecoprint 49% masyarakat cukup yakin dan 51% masyarakat tidak yakin bati ecoprint dapat berkembang di desanya. Kata kunci: Batik Ecoprint, Pemberdayaan Masyarakat, Pembangunan UMKM ABSTRACT Ecoprint is an innovation in batik making that is currently popular. Public knowledge about ecoprint needs to be increased as a form of honing creativity and empowering women. The aim of this activity is to provide knowledge to the people of Cokopsulanja Village, Waringinkurung District, Serang Regency about making ecoprint batik as a preventive measure in community empowerment and MSME development. The method used is the case study method. The initial stage of socialization was carried out in Cokopsulanjana Village, Waringinkurung District, followed by collecting data about community knowledge. Data was obtained by collecting information through distributing questionnaires and interviews regarding knowledge about ecoprinting starting from tools, materials used, techniques used, manufacturing processes and prospects for ecoprinting in Cokopsulanjana Village. The result of this service activity is that the training in making ecoprint batik runs smoothly and the community has sufficient understanding regarding knowledge about ecoprint. Then the community's knowledge and response regarding the development of ecoprint batik is 49% of the community is quite confident and 51% of the community is not sure that ecoprint batik can develop in their village. Abstract

Remaja merupakan satu tahapan perkembangan manusia dari masa kanak-kanak menuju masa dewasa. Sikap ingin tahu tanpa control diri yang baik mampu menjerumuskan remaja pada jebakan kenakalan.  Kenakalan remaja merupakan perbuatan yang dikategorikan melanggar akan nilai-nilai dan norma-norma yang ada dalam masyarakat dan biasanya kenakalan remaja dikarenakan usia dari remaja yang belum stabil dan mudah terpengaruh akan sekitar. Cyber Bullying merupakan salah satu kenakalan remaja berbasis teknologi. Cyber Bullying merupakan perundungan yang dilakukan di dunia maya yang berisi ancaman, melakukan penghinaan kapada kawannya sehingga kawannya tersebut tersulut emosi atau lebih parah lagi. Kasus Cyber Bullying marak terjadi pada pelajar. Sosialisasi dan edukasi untuk remaja mengenai norma yang berlaku di masyarakat dan juga etika, baik dalam bermasyarakat maupun dalam bermedia sosial perlu dilakukan. Tujuan dari kegiatan sosialisasi ini adalah untuk menciptakan lingkungan di mana siswa dapat merasa aman, dihormati, dan didukung dalam penggunaan teknologi, serta untuk mempersiapkan mereka untuk menjadi bagian dari masyarakat daring yang bertanggung jawab dan berempati. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi ceramah dan penyampaian langsung, ice breaking serta refleksi. Hasil kegiatan seluruh peserta paham dan sadar akan bahaya Cyber Bullying dan etika berdigital yang baik.

Abstract

The fruit of the berry (Crescentia cujete) had been widely known by the community. However, the use of this fruit had not been widely explored, especially related to the morphology and anatomy of the fruit, which supported its potential as a sustainable basic material. This study aimed to study the morphology and anatomy of berenuk fruit and explore its use as a basic material for crafts and household tools. The method used was qualitative descriptive, and the sampling technique was purposive sampling. Data was collected through field surveys, interviews with local artisans, and direct observation of the processing and utilization process of berenuk fruits. The data was reinforced through literature studies. The results of the study showed that Berenuk Fruit had great potential in diversifying the local economy, creating business opportunities, and supporting environmental conservation. The morphology and anatomy of the berenuk fruit, such as its hard skin and wide inner cavity, strongly supported the use of this fruit as a raw material for crafts and household tools. Furthermore, it was very necessary to increase people's knowledge and skills regarding processing techniques to maximize the use of berenuk fruit, as well as a good marketing strategy so that this fruit-based product could compete in a wider market.

Abstract

Talas beneng (Xanthosoma undipes), sebagai salah satu sumber pangan lokal dari Provinsi Banten, memiliki potensi besar untuk dikembangkan sebagai pangan sehat non-gluten, terutama untuk kebutuhan diet khusus bagi anak dengan autisme. Anak autis sering memerlukan pola makan bebas gluten untuk membantu mengurangi gejala pencernaan dan gangguan perilaku yang sering menyertai kondisi tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis potensi talas beneng sebagai alternatif pangan bebas gluten dan meninjau manfaat kandungan gizinya, seperti serat, lemak sehat, pati, dan amilosa, yang dapat mendukung kesehatan pencernaan serta kestabilan emosi anak autis. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan metode penelitian yang dilakukan yaitu studi literatur dan wawancara terhadap narasumber yang dipilih menggunakan purposive sampling. Kandungan pati resisten dan serat pada talas beneng dapat mendukung kesehatan mikrobiota usus, yang telah terbukti memiliki hubungan erat dengan regulasi emosi dan perilaku pada anak autis. Selain itu, hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa talas beneng berpotensi untuk dikembangkan dalam berbagai bentuk pangan, seperti tepung bebas gluten, cookies, dan makanan ringan lainnya, yang ramah bagi anak autis dan mendukung kebutuhan diet khusus mereka. Dengan demikian, talas beneng tidak hanya menjadi sumber pangan lokal yang bermanfaat, tetapi juga memberikan solusi pangan sehat bagi masyarakat luas, khususnya anak dengan autisme

Abstract

Paronychia is an infection that occurs around the nails, causing pain, swelling, and inflammation, which can disrupt daily activities. This study aims to explore the utilization of Curcuma xanthorrhiza (temulawak) as a traditional remedy for paronychia in Kiara Payung Village. The focus of the study is on understanding the preparation, usage, and effectiveness of temulawak-based remedies used by the local community to treat paronychia. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method through semi-structured interveiews with two informants: a traditional healer and a patient who successfully recovered after using the temulawak remedy. Data analysis was conducted descriptively to illustrate the potential of the remedy. The study concludes that the remedy made from temulawak, red onion, and letik oil effectively treats paronychia after 2–3 applications. The people of Kiara Payung Village prefer traditional medicine because it is considered safe, natural, and free of side effects. This research provides evidence that temulawak remedies have significant potential as an effective alternative treatment for paronychia in Kiara Payung Village.

Abstract

White jasmine (Jasminum sambac) holds strong symbolic and cultural value in various traditional ceremonies in Serang City. This study aims to examine its ethnobotanical role and conservation efforts to preserve its cultural significance and ecological sustainability. A descriptive qualitative method was used with purposive sampling, involving experienced jasmine flower artisans as participants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation, then analyzed qualitatively. The results show that white jasmine is used in wedding rituals, purification ceremonies, funerals, and offerings—reflecting spiritual, aesthetic, and medicinal meanings. Its morphological features and active compounds such as linalool and benzyl acetate support its role in tradition and healing. Conservation efforts include sustainable cultivation, public education, and reinforcing cultural values in environmental preservation. This study underscores the importance of integrating cultural heritage and biodiversity conservation to maintain local flora as part of intangible cultural assets.

Abstract

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) form mutualistic interactions with plants, including Cynometra cauliflora (Namnam), a tropical indigenous species from the Fabaceae family. This study explores the educational potential of this biological relationship to enrich high school biology education under the Kurikulum Merdeka framework. Field research was conducted at PT Chandra Asri’s Biodiversity Park in Cilegon, Banten Province, Indonesia, an area with rich local biodiversity and a tropical rainforest climate.  The study used a qualitative content analysis approach following an exploratory-descriptive model. Nine naturally growing C. cauliflora individuals were selected for morphological observations and root sampling. Morphological characteristics were documented following standard botanical protocols, while AMF colonization was assessed through root clearing, Phillips and Hayman staining method, and microscopic observation. The percentage of AMF colonization was calculated using the gridline intersect method. Habitat characterization to understand the ecological context. Curriculum analysis reviewed Indonesian biology standards, textbooks, and scientific literature to map potential integrations. Key concepts such as mutualism, nutrient cycling, biodiversity conservation, and plant physiology were identified for curriculum enrichment. The findings suggest that studying C. cauliflora and its AMF association can effectively support Capaian Pembelajaran (Learning Achievement Targets), fostering student skills in scientific methods, environmental awareness, and critical thinking. Incorporating local examples promotes contextual and inquiry-based learning, aligning with the spirit of the Kurikulum Merdeka and strengthening students’ ecological literacy. In conclusion, the mutualistic relationship between C. cauliflora and AMF offers a valuable, locally relevant scientific model for enhancing biology education. It bridges scientific knowledge, cultural understanding, and sustainability, preparing students for real-world ecological challenges.

Abstract

Turmeric tamarind herbal drink, traditionally known as jamu kunyit asam, remains widely consumed in Indonesia for its health benefits, including reducing menstrual pain, relieving inflammation, and refreshing the body. This study aimed to explore the utilization of turmeric (Curcuma longa) and tamarind (Tamarindus indica) as traditional herbal medicine in Sentul Village, Serang Regency. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation with local jamu producers. The findings revealed that the preparation of jamu kunyit asam is carried out using simple methods and natural ingredients without chemical additives. The main ingredients used are turmeric rhizome and tamarind pulp, which are known to contain curcumin, essential oils, flavonoids, and antioxidants with pharmacological properties. The herbal drink is primarily consumed by women for health maintenance and is stored in refrigerators to maintain its freshness for 2–3 days. Additionally, this traditional practice supports local livelihoods and preserves cultural heritage. However, consumption is not recommended for individuals with gastric ulcers due to the acidic nature of tamarind. This study highlights the potential of jamu kunyit asam as a culturally rooted and sustainable herbal remedy that can be further developed into a community-based local health product.
