Abstract

The application of big data in the education sector has emerged as a crucial strategy in addressing the challenges of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. This study responds to the limited integration of big data in academic decision-making processes, particularly within primary and secondary education institutions in Indonesia. The purpose of this research is to systematically examine how big data analytics supports more effective academic decision-making, offering both practical contributions for educational management and theoretical implications for the development of data-driven decision-making models. This study employs a literature Review method which includes the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The literature reviewed includes relevant national and international journal articles on big data and education. The findings reveal that big data plays a significant role in optimizing educational resource management, enhancing the efficiency of learning interventions, and supporting strategic planning based on evidence. Moreover, the study emphasizes the importance of technological infrastructure, human resource competencies, and data protection as key enablers for successful big data integration. The study provides essential insights for policymakers to encourage digital transformation and evidence-based practices in schools.

Abstract

The increasing demand for Islamic boarding schools to deliver both religious and academic education has prompted curriculum integration efforts nationwide. However, previous studies have not fully addressed how pesantren practically implement this integration while maintaining educational quality. This study explores how Al-Ihsan Boarding School in Riau integrates the Diniyah Curriculum with the National Curriculum, focusing on implementation practices, challenges, and institutional responses. The main research problem centers on how pesantren can balance two different pedagogical frameworks within a limited time and capacity. Using a qualitative approach with descriptive analysis, data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations involving the Deputy Head of Curriculum and the Boarding School Leader. The data were analyzed thematically through stages of data condensation, categorization, interpretation, and verification. Findings reveal that integration enhances students’ competencies across both curriculum domains, yet faces challenges including contrasting instructional methods, time constraints, and varied student preparedness. To overcome these, Al-Ihsan has developed contextualized support strategies, such as study clubs and tutoring sessions, which help students adapt and succeed. This study contributes a context-specific model for curriculum integration in pesantren and recommends future research on broader institutional comparisons, as well as policy support for adaptive academic management in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan implementasi kewirausahaan sekolah melalui pengelolaan kebun sawit di SMA Negeri 4 Tapung serta menganalisis dampak, faktor pendukung, dan hambatan dalam pelaksanaannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebun sawit dimanfaatkan sebagai unit usaha produktif sekolah yang tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai sumber pendapatan alternatif, tetapi juga sebagai media pembelajaran kontekstual bagi peserta didik. Pengelolaan kebun dilakukan oleh unit khusus yang diketuai langsung oleh kepala sekolah dengan melibatkan guru, tenaga kependidikan, serta siswa. Kegiatan ini berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan dana sekolah, penguatan tata kelola manajemen, serta pembentukan karakter siswa seperti kemandirian, tanggung jawab, dan kerja keras. Pelaksanaan program juga menghadapi berbagai tantangan seperti keterbatasan waktu, pengetahuan teknis, fluktuasi harga pasar, dan risiko lingkungan. Faktor pendukung utama meliputi ketersediaan lahan, dukungan internal sekolah, dan potensi ekonomi komoditas sawit. Kesimpulannya, program kewirausahaan berbasis kebun sawit di SMAN 4 Tapung merupakan inovasi pendidikan yang efektif dalam membangun kemandirian sekolah dan jiwa kewirausahaan siswa, serta dapat dijadikan model inspiratif bagi sekolah lain yang memiliki potensi lokal serupa.
