Abstract

The Zero Water Discharge (ZWD) technology is highly effective for efficient water usage, reducing or even eliminating wastewater discharge typically associated with shrimp farming. Used water from shrimp ponds can be treated and recycled, preventing any liquid waste from being released into the environment. By utilizing energy generated from solar panels (SP), this shrimp farming practice becomes more environmentally friendly and sustainable. Renewable natural resources, specifically sunlight, are harnessed to operate the system without increasing the carbon footprint. The objective of this initiative is to transfer the appropriate ZWD technology based on SP in shrimp farming to the community of Gampong Alue Naga, particularly Dayah Bustan Assofa. The implementation method began with the initial observation by the team of volunteers of the shrimp farming practices in the dayah, which often faced various challenges, such as foul-smelling pond water due to poor water quality. Additionally, high electricity costs also hindered shrimp farming in the dayah. To address these issues, ZWD technology based on SP was applied. The results of the initiative indicate that the implementation of SP-based ZWD technology in vaname shrimp farming in Banda Aceh proceeded as planned, without encountering any significant obstacles in the field. The partners were very supportive and enthusiastic, requesting that their area be designated as a mentoring village by FKP USK. Future recommendations include enhancing capacity in marketing, particularly digital marketing, which is beneficial for expanding the market reach of farmers, enabling them to sell their products to a wider consumer base at better prices.

Abstract

Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) is an important aquaculture species due to its fast growth and high economic value, with feed quality being a key factor in production efficiency. This study evaluated the effects of dietary green tea (Camellia sinensis) leaf flour on growth performance, hematological parameters, and intestinal histology of Nile tilapia. A completely randomized design was applied with six dietary treatments (02.5 g/kg feed) and three replicates each. Supplementation at 1.5 g/kg produced the best growth response, with significant improvements (P 0.05) in weight gain (7.24 0.91 g), length gain (3.61 0.21 cm), and specific growth rate (2.67 0.20%/day), while feed conversion ratio, feed efficiency, and survival did not differ among treatments. Hematological values varied but remained within normal physiological ranges. Histological analysis indicated enhanced villi morphology, suggesting improved nutrient absorption. The bioactive properties of C. sinensis highlight its potential as a functional feed additive to improve tilapia growth and health, offering practical applications for sustainable aquaculture. Keywords:TilapiaGreen tea leaf flourFish growth performanceHematological parametersFeed additiveRasakan sensasi serunya bermain tanpa hambatan di situs link gacorqq, kesempatan mendapatkan jackpotnya cukup mudah dan sangat cepat.

Abstract

Empowerment of people with disabilities through the transfer of biofloc shrimp farming technology in the city of Banda Aceh is a program aimed at enhancing the independence and empowerment of people with disabilities. Biofloc shrimp farming is a technology that utilizes a biofloc system, where bacteria are used to break down waste and provide nutrients for the shrimp. In this system, shrimp can grow faster and healthier compared to conventional shrimp farming methods. The program is in partnership with the Imam Ahmad bin Idris Aceh Foundation located in the village of Alue Naga and will be implemented from August to November 2023. The training will cover the construction of the tank, water management, feeding, shrimp maintenance, and harvesting methods. Additionally, the program will provide initial capital assistance to start biofloc shrimp farming businesses. This program aims to enable people with disabilities to achieve better income and improve their self-reliance. Furthermore, it is expected to increase biofloc shrimp production in the city of Banda Aceh, thereby enhancing the local economy.

Abstract

Asian seabass (Lates calcarifer) is a high-value aquaculture species cultivated to supply domestic and export markets. However, water quality deterioration during transport—marked by declining dissolved oxygen (DO) and rising carbon dioxide (CO₂) levels due to increased fish respiration and limited gas diffusion governed by Henry's Law—can induce stress and reduce seed survival. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of nutmeg oil (Myristica fragrans Houtt.) as an anesthetic on the survival and physiological response of Asian seabass seeds transported at different stocking densities, and to determine the optimal density for wet closed-system transportation. The experiment, conducted in February 2025 at the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Syiah Kuala University, employed a completely randomized design with five treatments and four replications. Treatments included a control (without anesthetic) and nutmeg oil administration (1.0 ppm) at densities of 25, 35, 45, and 55 fish. Transportation lasted for eight hours. Nutmeg oil significantly affected anesthesia induction and recovery time (P<0.05) but had no significant effect on survival (P>0.05). The highest survival rate (98.88%) was observed at 45 fish per container with 1.0 ppm nutmeg oil. The findings suggest nutmeg oil is an effective natural anesthetic for improving transport efficiency and fish welfare, supporting SDG 14 (Life Below Water) through sustainable aquaculture practices.
