Abstract

One of the efforts to reduce disaster risk is through sustainable and long-lasting disaster knowledge transmission. A cultural approach can serve as an effective method to convey disaster-related knowledge across generations. One form of cultural product considered suitable as a medium for delivering tsunami disaster messages in Aceh is the Aceh Songket textile, which has coexisted with the Acehnese community for centuries. This community service aims to create a new design motif for Aceh Songket that carries a reminder message about the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami disaster. The activity was conducted in collaboration with an Aceh Songket weaving group, involving the process of motif design and prototype creation. A rational design method was employed, using structured, detailed, and clear steps to achieve an optimal design solution. The outcome of this service is a motif entitled Tsunami, which is expected to be produced by Songket artisans and widely disseminated within the community, thereby serving effectively as a medium for long-term and intergenerational disaster risk awareness and knowledge regarding the Aceh Tsunami. In conclusion, the Aceh Songket motif with the Tsunami theme as a disaster education medium in the community has been successfully developed, with the main product being a tsunami-themed motif for Aceh Songket weaving. This design is anticipated to be broadly adopted by Acehnese weavers as an alternative for new motif development, which has been rarely explored previously.

Abstract

COVID-19 telah menjadi keadaan darurat kesehatan global sejak tahun 2019. Pandemi COVID-19 juga menyebabkan peningkatan jumlah kematian di rumah sakit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui angka kematian akibat COVID-19 dan karakteristik pasien COVID-19 yang meninggal pada tahun 2021 di bangsal khusus COVID-19 yaitu ruang rawat Penyakit Infeksi, New Emerging, dan Re-Emerging (PINERE) di Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah dr. Zainoel Abidin (RSUDZA). Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan data sekunder dari rekam medis pasien COVID-19 yang dirawat di RSUDZA pada bulan Januari-Desember 2021. Kriteria inklusi pada penelitian ini adalah positif COVID-19 dan meninggal saat perawatan di PINERE dalam kurun waktu Januari sampai dengan Desember 2021. Kriteria eksklusi dalam penelitian ini adalah pasien yang diduga menderita COVID-19 tetapi tidak memiliki hasil tes COVID-19 yang positif dan tidak memiliki rekam medis yang lengkap. Metode statistik yang digunakan adalah metode statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan dari 1938 pasien yang datang berobat dengan gejala COVID-19 sebanyak 30,34% meninggal dunia dan mayoritas pasien yang meninggal adalah laki-laki (54,4%). Sebagian besar pasien COVID-19 yang meninggal dunia berusia di atas 60 tahun (43,4%). Hasil juga menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar pasien COVID-19 yang meninggal dunia tidak memiliki komorbid (58,3%). Namun, pada pasien COVID-19 yang memiliki komorbid, komorbid diabetes dan komorbid gabungan diabetes dan hipertensi merupakan penyebab kematian tertinggi. Sementara itu, berdasarkan lama rawat inap, 12,9% pasien COVID-19 meninggal di hari yang sama, namun sebagian besar meninggal setelah satu minggu perawatan (58,5%). Dengan mengetahui angka kematian di rumah sakit diharapkan karakteristik klinis pasien COVID-19 dapat diidentifikasi untuk antisipasi jika terjadi kasus yang sama di masa depan.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the countries most vulnerable to disasters, where the destruction of health infrastructureparticularly surgical facilitiesoften hampers emergency medical response. During disasters, the sharp increase in patients contrasts with the limited availability of sterile and functional operating rooms. This study focuses on Aceh as a case study due to its high disaster exposure and logistical challenges, while proposing a design model adaptable to other hazard-prone regions. The research adopts a qualitative, evidence-based design (EBD) approach to develop a mobile emergency operating room (MEOR) that integrates functionality, mobility, and sustainability. The proposed design utilizes a modified 20-foot shipping container equipped with a hydraulic expansion system and an inflatable tent module to enhance operational flexibility. Supported by interdisciplinary collaboration among architects, engineers, medical professionals, and disaster specialists, the design emphasizes five key parameters: mobility, modularity, portability, safety, and comfort. Findings demonstrate that the Surgery on Wheels concept provides a viable and deployable solution for emergency surgical services in disaster-stricken and remote areas. It offers an environmentally conscious model that supports both disaster response and public health emergencies such as pandemics, advancing the discourse on resilient and sustainable healthcare infrastructure in developing regions.
