Abstract

Kawasan wisata hutan pinus Seloondo di Kabupaten Ngawi menghasilkan limbah bunga pinus dalam jumlah besar yang selama ini belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengolah limbah bunga pinus menjadi produk bernilai guna berupa briket biomassa, serta menganalisis dampak teknis, sosial, dan ekologis dari pemanfaatan limbah tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif melalui observasi langsung dan wawancara semi-terstruktur terhadap masyarakat dan pengelola wisata. Prosedur pembuatan briket meliputi pengumpulan bunga pinus, pengeringan, pembakaran menjadi arang, penghancuran, pencampuran dengan larutan kanji, pencetakan manual, dan pengeringan akhir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa briket bunga pinus memiliki pembakaran yang stabil, tahan lama, menghasilkan residu dan asap yang minim, serta mudah dibuat dengan alat sederhana. Masyarakat menyambut positif inovasi ini dan menilai briket sebagai peluang usaha rumah tangga berbasis limbah lokal. Temuan ini mendukung hasil penelitian terdahulu seperti Sallolo dan Sampelawang (2017), Gazali dan Tang (2017), serta Hantono (2016), yang menunjukkan bahwa biomassa pinus memiliki nilai kalor dan efisiensi termal tinggi. Oleh karena itu, pengolahan limbah bunga pinus menjadi briket tidak hanya berkontribusi pada penyediaan energi alternatif yang ramah lingkungan, tetapi juga mendorong pemberdayaan ekonomi lokal dan konservasi kawasan hutan secara berkelanjutan.

Abstract

Community service through tutoring programs is one of the efforts to support the improvement of elementary school students' literacy and numeracy skills. This community service activity was conducted by KKN-PM Group 10 students of STKIP Modern Ngawi in Gempol Village, Karangjati District, Ngawi Regency, East Java. The program aimed to enhance students' literacy and numeracy skills through structured learning assistance. A qualitative approach was employed using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques. The implementation consisted of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Initial observations revealed that many students experienced difficulties in reading fluently, comprehending texts, writing simple sentences, and solving basic arithmetic operations and word problems. Based on these findings, tutoring activities focusing on literacy and numeracy were carried out twice a week using interactive learning methods, including guided reading, discussion, writing exercises, problem-solving activities, and educational games. The evaluation results indicated that approximately 80% of the students demonstrated improvement in intensive reading skills and reading comprehension, while more than 70% showed increased confidence and better performance in solving basic arithmetic operations and simple mathematical word problems. Overall, the tutoring program contributed positively to improving students' literacy and numeracy skills, learning motivation, classroom participation, and self-confidence, indicating that community-based educational assistance can effectively support the enhancement of basic education quality in Gempol Village.

Abstract

Household organic waste remains an environmental issue, particularly in rural areas, due to improper waste management practices. This community service activity aimed to improve public knowledge and understanding of household organic waste management through the “BIOSMART” (Biopore as a Smart Solution for Household Organic Waste Management) socialization. The activity was conducted by KKN-PM Group 10 students of STKIP Modern Ngawi in Gempol Village, Karangjati District, Ngawi Regency, on July 5, 2026, involving 34 participants consisting of members of the Family Welfare Movement (PKK) and Dasawisma groups. The implementation consisted of planning, educational counseling, audiovisual presentations, and hands-on practice in utilizing biopore infiltration holes. The educational materials included household organic waste management, the concept and benefits of biopore infiltration holes, suitable types of organic waste, biopore maintenance, and compost harvesting. Participants were directly involved in filling prepared biopore holes with organic waste and watering them with rice-washing water, while videos illustrating biopore construction and compost harvesting were presented to enhance understanding. The activity was carried out successfully, with participants actively engaging in discussions and practical sessions. The BIOSMART socialization provided participants with practical knowledge on household organic waste management through biopore utilization and is expected to encourage the adoption of environmentally sustainable waste management practices at the household level.
