Abstract

This paper investigates the evolving nature of social stratification in Banten, a province with a complex socio-historical background shaped by both traditional hierarchies and contemporary socio-economic forces. Drawing on sociological theories of stratification and social change, this study critically analyzes how structural and cultural transformations have contributed to shifts in class structure, status distribution, and access to resources among different segments of Bantenese society. Historically, social stratification in Banten was deeply influenced by feudal relations, religious authority, and kinship-based systems. However, the past few decades have witnessed significant changes triggered by rapid urbanization, industrial development, educational expansion, and increasing integration with national and global markets. Through qualitative methods—including in-depth interviews with community leaders, historical document analysis, and ethnographic fieldwork—this research identifies several key factors driving these changes: (1) the role of formal education in enabling upward social mobility; (2) the diversification of employment opportunities beyond traditional agrarian sectors; (3) the impact of regional autonomy and democratization in redistributing political power; and (4) the influence of digital media and consumer culture in reshaping social aspirations and identity. Additionally, migration flows and rural-to-urban transitions have reconfigured local social dynamics, generating both opportunities for mobility and new forms of inequality. The findings highlight the multi-dimensional and fluid nature of stratification in contemporary Banten. While traditional markers of status such as lineage and religious prestige persist in certain contexts, they increasingly coexist—and at times compete—with meritocratic and economic indicators of social standing. This research contributes to a broader understanding of how localized processes of stratification are embedded within national development trajectories, and how communities negotiate social change amidst tensions between continuity and transformation.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of a volcanic eruption simulation using a simple chemical reaction (baking soda and vinegar) in improving students' understanding of the concept of volcanic eruption and their science process skills. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach with an exploratory practicum. This study did not use statistical population and sample sizes, as all activities were conducted within a single student group, acting as both implementers and observers. The data sources in this study were primary data obtained directly from observations during the practicum activities. Data collection instruments included observation sheets (direct observation), photographic documentation, and notes from experiments and group discussions. Based on the research results, it was found that the volcanic eruption simulation using simple materials (baking soda and vinegar) was very effective in clarifying understanding of the basic concept of volcanic eruption, making it suitable for widespread application in science education, particularly at the elementary level and in prospective teacher training.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji fenomena Bulliying dan Cyber Bullying di kalangan siswa-siswi kelas VI SDN Pasirukem 1. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk memahami jenis-jenis, faktor-faktor, dan dampak-dampak bullying serta cyber bullying yang pernah dialamai oleh siswa/i. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan metode pengisian prest-test dan juga post-test yang di isi oleh siswa/i kelas VI dan observasi. Hasil telah menunjukan bahwa bullying masih sering terjadi di lingkungan sekolah terutama di kelas VI, sedangkan cyber bullying masih jarang terjadi karena siswa/i kelas VI SDN pasirukem 1 masih belum mengerti dan memahami media sosial. Dampak dari bullying dan cyber bullying keduanya mencakup penurunan kesehatan mental dan prestasi akademik siswa/i. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan dan pengetahuan lebih dalam lagi untuk upaya pencegahan yang lebih efektif.
