Abstract

As time goes by, even though there are positive impacts, we also have to be aware of the negative impacts that can threaten existing local culture. However, in the Akur Sunda Wiwitan community, they have a way to maintain their local beliefs, customs and culture amidst rapid technological advances. This research aims to reveal how the Akur Sunda Wiwitan people use communication patterns as a tool to maintain the arts and culture that have been passed down from one generation to the next. This research uses qualitative research methods with a constructivist approach, based on ethnographic communication theory. The data in this research was obtained through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The data analysis process follows the Miles and Huberman model, which includes the steps of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the research are presented in the form of a qualitative description, namely explaining the communication patterns used by the Akur Sunda Wiwitan community in written form. This research focuses on two interesting activities studied, namely communication patterns that emerge in Nonoman routine collections and Taman Atikan activities. The communication carried out in these two activities are uses verbal and non-verbal communication. In the Nonoman group, there is a two-way communication pattern, while in Taman Atikan activities, there is a circular communication pattern. In these two communication patterns, the communicator and the communicant can directly interact with each other.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out the role of lecturers and students in conducting distance learning (PJJ) through zoom meeting with the level of communication effectiveness on student attitudes. The research method used is a questionnaire survey method to calculate the Validity and Reliability test. The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach with data collection techniques, namely questionnaires. The subjects of this research are active students of the Faculty of Communication and Information, University of Garut as many as 700 people. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling. The results showed that there was an effect of the effectiveness of communication through the media zoom meeting on the attitude of the students of Fkominfo Garut University, this can be seen from the total score obtained by 5083, where the results are between the 3930 line and the 5280 line. The attitude of students of the Garut University communication science study program during learning through the media zoom is in the good category. Because the score shows the number 6632, where the result is between the 5016 line and the 6688 line.

Abstract

Stereotypes of women in society often associate women with domestic roles, virginity, and the value of marriage as a measure of their success in life. This view strengthens patriarchal control which limits women's space in various aspects of life. This research aims to analyze the stereotypical depiction of women in the film "Yuni", which reflects patriarchal control, education and freedom of self-expression. This research uses a semiotic method based on Roland Barthes' theory, which focuses on the analysis of denotation, connotation and myth. This research uses a critical paradigm to understand the construction of reality about women as shown through symbols and signs in films. The unit of analysis is the selection and identification of scenes relevant to female stereotypes. The research results show that stereotypes that associate women with domestic roles result in strengthening patriarchal control and limiting women's potential to contribute optimally to society. In this research, the film "Yuni" succeeded in exploring various stereotypes faced by women in a socio-cultural context that is thick with traditional norms. One of the main issues that arises is how women are often positioned as sexual objects, where their appearance and physical attractiveness are the focus of attention, while their abilities and aspirations are often overlooked. This shows that even though women have great potential, they are often trapped in a narrow view that judges them based on physical aspects. It is hoped that this research will provide new insights into the representation of women in films and the importance of education and policies that support women's empowerment.

Abstract

Radio Intan merupakan salah satu stasiun radio yang melakukan upaya rebranding di era konvergensi media. Namun, mereka menghadapi kendala karena kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat tentang perubahan menjadi lembaga penyiaran publik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan strategi manajemen komunikasi Radio Intan dalam melakukan upaya rebranding di era konvergensi media. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan triangulasi. Proses analisis data yang digunakan adalah reduksi data, display data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan beberapa perubahan yang dilakukan oleh Bidang Penyiaran Dinas Komunikasi dan Informatika dalam upaya rebranding, seperti penggunaan website sebagai sistem penyiaran, perubahan tata cara penyiaran, dan penggunaan media sosial. Namun, radio Intan menghadapi masalah karena kurangnya pengetahuan masyarakat tentang keberadaannya, yang disebabkan oleh keterbatasan anggaran untuk promosi berbayar. Hal ini membuat eksistensi radio Intan berkurang

Abstract

Advances in the dissemination of information technology have opened up wide opportunities for people to access and disseminate information quickly and effectively. It is almost similar to what is done by the MAN 1 Garut journalistic Crew Community or what is referred to as organizational socialization media that disseminates information in the school environment. However, based on the results of observations, there is a problem experienced by the community, namely the lack of skills and understanding in good and correct journalistic practices, such as in terms of news writing techniques with the inverted pyramid concept, then in writing headlines, photojournalistic captions and interview techniques accompanied by media literacy. With these problems, this Community Service aims to help develop students' skills in the field of journalism, especially in terms of writing news so that it can encourage the formation of quality journalistic products and in accordance with the code of ethics in it. The methods used in this training are Preparation, Implementation, Discussion Forum and Evaluation, and in the three sessions are accompanied by a question and answer system between the speaker and the participants. The training, which was attended by 34 members of the Journalistic Crew, brought significant changes in the cognitive aspect. The results of the training show that participants have been able to write news with the concept of an inverted pyramid in accordance with the rules of journalistic language so that there is an increase in skills and understanding from previously limited now become more aware of other journalistic works.
