Abstract

Mathematics is often considered a difficult subject and a source of anxiety for many students, a phenomenon known as math anxiety. This anxiety negatively affects students' conceptual understanding, learning motivation, and academic performance. One strategy that can be implemented to reduce math anxiety is the use of classical music. Classical music is known to have a relaxing effect that can reduce stress, enhance focus, and create a more comfortable and conducive learning environment. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of classical music in reducing math anxiety among 11th-grade students at Muhammadiyah Mlati senior high school (28 students) through an experimental approach. The research employs a quasi-experimental design using a pretest-posttest control group method, where students' anxiety levels are measured before and after the intervention with classical music. The findings of this study are expected to provide new insights into the role of music in improving the quality of mathematics learning and serve as a foundation for developing more innovative and holistic teaching strategies. Integrating classical music into mathematics instruction is not only an innovation but also a strategic step in creating a more supportive and enjoyable learning environment. This approach allows students to learn with greater confidence, better understand mathematical concepts, and achieve optimal learning outcomes

Abstract

The Baitul Arqam program, held at SMA Muhammadiyah Mlati on March 19-20, 2025, aimed to strengthen Islamic identity and build the moral integrity of the participants. The program involved various educational activities, such as discussions on Muhammadiyah ideology, worship training, forums on Islamic values, and reflective activities. It focused not only on theory but also on spiritual experiences that heightened religious awareness. The program was conducted in three main stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The methods used included lectures, role-playing simulations, and discussions. The results of the implementation showed success in motivating participants to delve deeper into Muhammadiyah values, with high enthusiasm throughout the event. Participants also expressed great benefits in preparing themselves to become better Muhammadiyah cadres. Evaluation was carried out using a non-test approach, encompassing cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. The success of this activity highlights the importance of careful planning and good coordination in supporting the strengthening of character and religious understanding among students. This program is expected to be held regularly to prepare future generations who are more committed to the values of the organization

Abstract

This study aims to develop a mathematics module on the infinite limit material of algebraic functions to improve critical thinking skills of phase-F students at SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Sleman. The study used the ADDIE development model which includes five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Data were collected through material and media expert validation questionnaires, student response questionnaires, and pretest and posttest tests. The validation results showed that the module was classified as very valid, with an average score of 71 from material experts and 103 from media experts. The student response questionnaire produced a practicality score of 72.6, indicating that the module was practical to use. The effectiveness test was carried out using the normality test and paired sample t-test using SPSS-25, which showed a significant increase (p <0.05) in student learning outcomes. The average pretest score of 58.22 increased to 84.27 in the posttest, with an n-Gain value of 0.64 which is classified as moderate. This module also improved scores on all indicators of students' critical thinking. Thus, the developed e-module is declared valid, practical, and effective in improving students' conceptual understanding and critical thinking skills

Abstract

This study aims to describe the management of guidance and counseling (GC) services in improving the quality of education at SMA Muhammadiyah Mlati. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with guidance counselors, school principal, and homeroom teachers, as well as direct observations of GC service implementation and documentation analysis. The findings reveal that service planning is carried out systematically through the identification of student needs personal, social, academic, and career aspects. The organization of services includes task distribution based on counselor competencies, the establishment of working structure, and interdepartmental coordination within school. Service implementation is conducted by professionals with academic backgrounds in guidance and counseling, employing various active methods such as classical and modeling approaches. The types of services provided include informational, orientation, individual, group, responsive, and peer counseling. Evaluation is conducted regularly through the development of instruments, data collection, and result analysis, as well as the identification of supporting and inhibiting factors. The study found that GC services are effective and positively received by students. It concludes that well-planned, organized, and collaborative management of GC services can significantly contribute to enhancing quality of education at the secondary school level
