Abstract

(Objectives) The organisation of library materials in a library is very important. For this reason, it is important to choose the right classification system with the aim of making the collection more useful for users. IAIN Fattahul Muluk Papua Library applies a special classification system developed by the library itself.  (Method) Therefore, the author has an interest in studying this system using a descriptive method with a qualitative approach with data collection methods using interviews, observations, documentation, and literature studies. (Findings) The results obtained are 1) this classification uses the main basic subjects namely tarbiyah, sharia, muamalah, and general popular subjects. For other than monographs, the classification is based on form and presentation. For notation using letter and number notation. 2) There are several advantages including simple subjects and notations and information retrieval is relatively easy. The disadvantages are that the classification is not yet universal, the division of knowledge is not detailed, not systematic, the classification is not flexible, does not have an index, does not have a supervisory body. In addition, there are problems including inconsistency in classification, overlapping titles in the database, ineffective and inefficient information retrieval, non-mechanised collection preparation.

Abstract

Background: This study was motivated by the implementation of the Qur'an study program in ma'had which was not optimal, due to limited human resources, budget, and low involvement of mahasantri. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the program and formulate strategies to optimize the al-Qur'an study program in Ma'had. Methods: This research uses a qualitative method of evaluative approach, with data collection techniques in the form of interviews, observation, and documentation and data analysis using the Miles and Huberman model. Results: Context evaluation of program implementation is quite in line with the vision, mission, and goals of the ma'had while the program needs analysis component has not been carried out comprehensively. 2. Input evaluation in general, the infrastructure component is quite good, while the curriculum component is not yet standardized, the teaching staff is limited and the budget is not adequate. 3. Process evaluation shows that the implementation of the program generally runs quite well. However, the involvement of mahasantri is very low, the learning method is still monotonous, and there are several obstacles such as limited teaching staff, limited time, and low motivation of mahasantri. 4. Product evaluation shows results that are not yet optimal. The number of mahasantri who passed the BTA certification was still very low. Even so, there is an increase in the ability of mahasantri to read the Qur'an and an increase in academic achievement based on the value of the BTA course. Conclusion: The implementation of the al-Qur'an study program in ma'had still faces various obstacles in the aspects of context, input, process, and product so that the results achieved are not optimal. Therefore, an optimization strategy is needed through strengthening the curriculum, improving the quality and quantity of teaching staff, providing adequate infrastructure, and sufficient budget support so that the program can run more effectively and sustainably. By optimizing this strategy, Ma'had is expected to be able to improve the quality of al-Qur'an study program in Ma'had.

Abstract

Studies on Qur’anic learning in TPQ institutions tend to rely on traditional methods that focus solely on repetition of memorization and recitation, without incorporating innovative or creative approaches. This study aims to analyze the integration of calligraphy in Qur’anic learning, its impact on students’ interest and learning motivation, and its contribution to the development of religious character. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method, using interviews, observation, and documentation as data collection techniques, and data analysis based on the Miles and Huberman model. The findings reveal that (1) the integration of calligraphy in Qur’anic learning is proven to be effective in improving the quality of the learning process, as it provides students with a more meaningful, visual, and enjoyable learning experience; (2) calligraphy integration can enhance students’ interest in learning, as reflected in their increased enthusiasm, active participation, and motivation during Qur’anic lessons; and (3) the integration of calligraphic art contributes to the development of students’ religious character, marked by the emergence of perseverance, discipline, and a deepened love for the Qur’an. These findings affirm that integrating artistic elements into Qur’anic learning can generate positive cognitive, affective, and spiritual outcomes.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of motivation and learning discipline in overcoming students’ behavioral barriers in order to improve the quality of learning. This research employs a descriptive–analytical qualitative method based on a literature review of books and scientific journals published over the last ten years, integrating empirical findings with Maslow’s theory. The results indicate that: (1) discipline functions as a regulator of behavior and a mechanism of students’ self-control; (2) motivation acts as a driving force (internal drive) that determines the intensity of academic engagement; and (3) there is a reciprocal relationship in which motivation stimulates discipline, while discipline maintains the stability of motivation. The synergy between the two is proven to significantly enhance learning outcomes.
