Abstract

Oil palm plantations have become a strategic sector in the Indonesian economy, especially in the Kalimantan region. Although its contribution to economic growth is undeniable, its impact on poverty alleviation is still debatable. This study aims to evaluate the relationship between oil palm plantation area and production on economic growth and poverty levels in Kalimantan. The research methodology uses multiple linear regression analysis with secondary data obtained from official statistical reports during the period 2021 to 2022. The independent variables in this study are land area and oil palm production, while the dependent variables include economic growth rates and poverty rates. The results of the study show that the area of oil palm plantations has a significant positive effect on economic growth in Kalimantan, while oil palm production does not show a significant relationship with the decline in poverty rates. This finding indicates that economic growth resulting from the expansion of plantation land does not directly improve the socio-economic conditions of local communities. The implications of this study highlight the importance of more inclusive development policies, with a focus on a more equitable distribution of economic benefits and investment in social infrastructure such as education and health. This is necessary to ensure that the economic benefits of the palm oil sector can be felt by all levels of society, thus supporting sustainable development in Kalimantan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of communication, emotional intelligence, and organizational culture on employee performance at the Indonesian Land Transportation Polytechnic-STTD (PTDI-STTD). In the era of digital transformation and globalization, employee performance becomes a fundamental factor determining organizational success in achieving strategic goals. The research employed a quantitative descriptive design with an explanatory approach involving 105 civil servant employees as respondents selected through stratified random sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using closed questionnaires with a 1-5 Likert scale, then analyzed using SPSS with multiple linear regression techniques. The results showed that simultaneously, communication, emotional intelligence, and organizational culture significantly influence employee performance (F calculated 40.344 > F table 2.69, sig. 0.001 < 0.05). Partially, all three variables also proved to have significant effects with organizational culture showing the most dominant influence (? = 0.478), followed by emotional intelligence (? = 0.201), and communication (? = 0.134). The coefficient of determination of 0.822 indicates that 82.2% of employee performance variation can be explained by these three variables. These findings confirm the importance of an integrated approach in developing effective communication, emotional intelligence, and positive organizational culture to improve employee performance in higher education transportation institutions.

Abstract

This study investigates how technology adoption, job stress, and the role of supervisors in the hospitality industry influence performance and the supervisor's role as a moderator. This study looks at these dynamics to provide insight into strategic management techniques that increase productivity, increase worker happiness, and drive long-term sustainability in the highly competitive hospitality industry. This quantitative research uses descriptive methods and uses SEM-PLS to test the data. The population is all employees of local 5-star hotels in Jakarta that have been operating for 20 years, with 400 respondents. The data collection technique uses non-probability sampling with purposive sampling. The findings of this research show that adopting technology improves performance but also increases work stress. Managed stress can boost performance. The supervisor's role amplifies the impact of technology and helps manage stress, contributing directly to improved performance. The research findings have theoretical significance and relevance, especially for the hotel industry. The hospitality industry can use the research findings to develop more effective ways to improve job performance while considering the critical role of supervisors in overcoming difficulties in implementing new technologies, paying attention to employee mental health so that operations can run smoothly, and encouraging sustainable practices
