Abstract

Alternative fuels derived from the pyrolysis of Polypropylene (PP) plastic waste present a promising approach to decreasing reliance on fossil fuels while also addressing plastic waste reduction. his experimental study investigates the exhaust emission characteristics of a modified burner equipped with a blower compared to a conventional burner. The experimental setup utilized specially designed burners to enhance the combustion performance of PP pyrolysis oil. Fuel blends containing 5%, 10%, and 20% PP pyrolysis oil mixed with Pertamax were tested. Emission parameters, including CO, CO₂, HC, and NOx concentrations, were measured under idle operating conditions using a gas analyzer. The findings revealed that the modified burner operating with a 10% PP pyrolysis oil blend produced lower HC, O₂, and lambda emission levels than the standard burner. Conversely, CO and CO₂ emissions were found to be higher for the modified burner configuration. In both burner types, NOx emissions were not detected.

Abstract

The number of motorized vehicle users in Indonesia is increasing. Alternative fuels are needed to meet the needs of these motorized vehicles. One of the alternative fuels that can be used is LPG. However, in its application in motorized vehicles, LPG fuel has a weakness, namely that the engine temperature tends to be higher, thus affecting the performance and specific fuel consumption produced. One additional mechanism that can be used to optimize the use of LPG fuel in motorized vehicles is the water injection system. The addition of a water injection system to motorized vehicles is able to maintain the temperature of the combustion chamber, so that it can improve the results of specific fuel consumption. To optimize the use of the water injection system in motorized vehicles, variations in the surface of the intake manifold can be used, namely standard intake, tight dimple and loose dimple. The use of this variation is expected to make the fuel mixture and water injection mix perfectly before entering the combustion chamber. The results of the data collection that have been carried out show that the lowest specific fuel consumption (SFC) is obtained by using a tight dimple intake manifold with water injection with an average value of 0.015882797 kg/HP.hour at an engine speed of 8000 RPM.

Abstract

This community service program aims to revitalize the production area and improve management practices at Sopo Nyongko MSME, a local culinary business in Sumbersari District, Jember Regency. The main problems identified include a limited customer waiting area, non-hygienic and inefficient production processes, traditional packaging methods, and the absence of proper financial records. The implemented solutions consist of expanding the customer waiting space, introducing a cup sealer machine for efficient and hygienic beverage packaging, providing training on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for small-scale food industries, and assisting in financial record-keeping and report preparation based on Micro Business Financial Accounting Standards (SAK-EMKM). The program also introduced digital marketing strategies to enhance market visibility. The results show significant improvements in production efficiency, product hygiene, customer comfort, and financial management capability. Additionally, the implementation of GMP principles supports future halal certification processes. This activity demonstrates that the integration of technology, financial literacy, and digital marketing can increase productivity, business competitiveness, and sustainability for local MSMEs.
