Abstract

Indonesia faces a challenge of conventional energy scarcity in the future. The primary issue with the first-level healthcare industry is its limited use of solar energy, particularly for sterilising medical devices, which is crucial in remote areas to ensure their safety and effectiveness. The research aims to analyse the expansion of solar energy utilisation in the sterilisation of medical devices. The research employs a qualitative method with a grounded theory approach, collecting data through interviews and literature reviews. The research location is at the Rizki Sehat Clinic, Serang Regency, Indonesia. The design thinking approach enables the expansion of solar-powered medical sterilisers in private first-level health facilities, overcoming the limitations of electric and manual sterilisers, which have often been suboptimal due to electricity supply constraints and conventional energy operating costs. This innovation has proven to be efficient and environmentally friendly. It can be implemented gradually through a process that involves identifying needs, designing prototypes, conducting demonstrations, providing training, and expanding to additional facilities. The theoretical implications enrich the literature on the adoption of renewable energy technologies in healthcare. Practically, this study provides systematic implementation guidelines for health facility managers in improving the quality and sustainability of solar-powered medical device sterilisation services. The limitations of research on the scope of a single object, as well as conceptual studies, have not thoroughly evaluated economic aspects across various regions. The subsequent research was conducted in various regions with distinct characteristics, utilising a cost-benefit analysis that incorporated solar power and a digital monitoring system

Abstract

The challenge in modern Islamic boarding school education lies in the suboptimal integration of non-formal dormitory-based education (riāyah) with formal academic instruction (tarbīyah), which may hinder holistic student development. This study examines the interrelationships among problem-solving skills, mental resilience, and intellectual growth as factors that foster effective synergy between tarbīyah and riāyah at the Zam-Zam Muhammadiyah Islamic Boarding School in Banyumas, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative methodology, data were collected through purposive sampling of Year XII Socioscience students using surveys and interviews, with descriptive and correlational analyses conducted via SPSS. Findings reveal significant positive correlations between the variables; however, the majority of students perceive the current integration practices as insufficient. The discussion emphasises the imperative for curricular innovation, enhanced pedagogical strategies, and comprehensive activity evaluations to optimise both academic proficiency and religious comprehension. This integrative model, despite its limitations—including a restricted sample size and the focus on a single institution—demonstrates potential in equipping students to navigate personal and societal challenges. The study advocates for ongoing educational innovation and expanded research across diverse boarding school contexts to maximise student outcomes.

Abstract

The Islamic boarding school that organises the community work training centre is a collaborative program to help students improve their life skills and achieve entrepreneurial independence. The purpose of the study was to analyse the priority factors of entrepreneurial life skills in Islamic boarding schools that organised community work training centres. The research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. A sample was collected using purposive sampling at the Raudlatul Athfal Islamic boarding school in Serang Regency, the organiser of the community work training centre. The informant is the manager of the community work training centre, as well as the trainee and manager of the Islamic boarding school. Data collection involves the use of questionnaires, interviews, and literature studies, and the testing of validity through triangulation of the sources. The data analysis uses descriptive statistics, while the technique uses the Analysis Network Process (ANP) with Super Decision. The study's findings indicate that the factors influencing entrepreneurial life skills encompass academic, rational thinking, self-awareness, social, and vocational aspects. Knowing yourself is a priority factor in determining entrepreneurial life skills at Islamic boarding schools that organise community work training centres. This research has implications for the significance of strengthening the aspect of self-knowledge in the development of entrepreneurial life skills in Islamic boarding schools that organise community work training centres. Its limitations include limited coverage of areas and samples, as well as the use of qualitative approaches. Further research is suggested to expand the area, use quantitative methods, and develop more standardised life skill assessment instruments.
