Abstract

The responsibility and hard work of oil palm workers for the work they do by working as best as possible in order to get the expected results as a form of work ethic of oil palm workers in meeting the economic needs of their families. The main focus in this study is to find out the responsibility, hard work, and discipline that are the work ethic of oil palm workers and the efforts of oil palm workers in maintaining the family economy as seen from managing finances, saving, and having additional sources of income. This research was conducted at PT. Bakrie Pasaman Plantations (BPP), Koto Balingka District, West Pasaman Regency. This research uses the Motivation Theory of Abraham Maslow. The research method used is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach that aims to describe and analyze certain phenomena in depth about what the research subject experienced. The results of this study show that the work ethic of oil palm workers can be seen from the sense of responsibility, hard work, and discipline towards the work they do by doing the work in a directed manner to get optimal results. Then the efforts made by oil palm workers in maintaining their family's economy are by working side jobs such as working on privately owned plantations and opening stall businesses such as basic necessities, coffee shops, fried foods, and lontong stalls.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang faktor yang mempengaruhi tumbuhnya rasa solidaritas sosial pada komunitas pengemudi ojek online Marbun Delivery. Fokus utama dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana interaksi sosial mempengaruhi tumbuhnya rasa solidaritas sosial pengemudi ojek online Marbun Delivery dan apa bentuk solidaritas sosial yang dihasilkan oleh pengemudi ojek online Marbun Delivery. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori solidaritas sosial dari Emile Durkheim. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif yang bertujuan untuk memahami dan mendeskripsikan fenomena yang dialami oleh subjek penelitian. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode observasi, wawancara tidak terstruktur, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data yang digunakan melalui tahap reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa cara pengemudi ojek online Marbun Delivery membangun rasa solidaritas sosial adalah adanya ketergantungan antara pengemudi dengan pengemudi serta pelanggan dan dengan menjalankan pekerjaan yang sama. Sedangkan bentuk solidaritas sosial dari komunitas pengemudi ojek online Marbun Delivery terdiri dari kerjasama dan berbagi pelanggan.

Abstract

This research aims to understand how the social capital of Tanjung Pura dodol craftsmen is utilized in the production and distribution of dodol and the efforts of dodol craftsmen and traders in maintaining the dodol business. This research uses social capital theory according to Putnam. The research method uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this research show that the use of social capital of Tanjung Pura dodol craftsmen in the production and distribution of dodol is (a) dodol craftsmen build networks in obtaining raw materials by collaborating with raw material suppliers. This cooperative relationship is based on trust and there are agreed rules for working together, (b) dodol craftsmen build a collaborative network with traders and distributors in marketing dodol. This cooperative relationship is based on trust and mutually agreed rules. The efforts of dodol craftsmen and traders in maintaining the dodol business are (a) maintaining the quality of the dodol as seen from the taste that is still delicious, not moldy, and the cleanliness of the packaging, marketing the dodol through e-commerce, and producing and marketing the dodol themselves at their place of business, (b) selling dodol every day and placing markers at their place of business and providing other merchandise besides dodol at the dodol business place.
