Abstract

Kajian ini dilatar belakangi oleh pentingnya keterkaitan antara budaya lokal dan penafsiran Al-Qur’an, khususnya dalam konteks budaya Sunda. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji bagaimana nilai-nilai budaya Sunda diadaptasi dalam tafsir Al-Qur’an serta bagaimana tafsir tersebut berkontribusi dalam pelestarian budaya lokal. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi pustaka untuk menganalisis hubungan antara tafsir dan budaya Sunda melalui perspektif antropologi budaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tafsir Ahmad Sanusi tidak hanya menjadi sarana dakwah Islam, tetapi juga berperan dalam melestarikan budaya Sunda. Hal ini tercermin dalam penggunaan bahasa Sunda, sistem undak-usuk basa, serta nilai sosial seperti silih asah, silih asih, dan silih asuh. Selain itu, Ahmad Sanusi mengakomodasi unsur budaya lokal, seperti tawasul dan pagelaran wayang golek, sebagai media dakwah yang relevan dengan masyarakat Sunda. Dengan demikian, tafsir Al-Qur’an tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai penjelasan terhadap teks suci, tetapi juga sebagai bagian dari warisan budaya yang mencerminkan identitas lokal serta membuktikan bahwa ajaran Islam dapat berharmoni dengan kearifan lokal tanpa menghilangkan nilai-nilai universalnya.

Abstract

The Qur'an learning method plays a crucial role in improving the quality of recitation among students. This study aims to analyze the comparison of the effectiveness of the Yanbu’a and An-Nahdiyah methods in improving the quality of Quranic recitation at Pondok Pesantren Tahfidzul Qur’an ‘Ibaadurrahman and Pondok Pesantren Darussalamah, Way Jepara District, East Lampung. This research uses a qualitative approach with a comparative study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies of teachers and students in both pesantren. The analysis was conducted by comparing aspects of the teaching methods, accuracy of makharijul huruf, application of tajwid rules, as well as the speed and durability of the students’ memorization. The results show that the Yanbu’a method is more systematic in teaching makharijul huruf and tajwid, providing students with a more structured understanding of recitation rules before memorization. On the other hand, the An-Nahdiyah method emphasizes direct practice with a flexible approach, enabling students to read and memorize the Quran more quickly. The conclusion of this study shows that both methods have their respective advantages. Therefore, the choice of teaching method should be adjusted to the characteristics of the students and the educational goals of Quranic learning in each pesantren.

Abstract

This study is based on the importance of the relationship between local culture and the interpretation of the Qur'an, particularly in the context of Sundanese culture. This research aims to examine how Sundanese cultural values are adapted in the interpretation of the Qur'an and how this interpretation contributes to the preservation of local culture. This study employs a qualitative approach with a literature study method to analyze the relationship between interpretation and Sundanese culture through the perspective of cultural anthropology. The findings indicate that Ahmad Sanusi’s interpretation not only serves as a medium for Islamic preaching but also plays a role in preserving Sundanese culture. These are three strategies: tahmil, tahrim, and taghyir; this is reflected in the use of the Sundanese language, the undak-usuk basa (language hierarchy) system, and social values such as silih asah, silih asih, and silih asuh (mutual sharpening, mutual caring, and mutual nurturing). Additionally, Ahmad Sanusi incorporates local cultural elements, such as tawasul and wayang golek performances, as relevant preaching media for the Sundanese community. Thus, the interpretation of the Qur'an not only serves as an explanation of the sacred text but also as part of a cultural heritage that reflects local identity, proving that Islamic teachings can harmonize with local wisdom without losing their universal values

Abstract

This article examines the interpretation of verses related to the story of the people of Prophet Shu'aib in the Jāmi' Al-Bayān Fī Ta'wīl Al-Qur'ān. The focus of this study is directed at analyzing the moral character of the people of Madyan so that there is an ibrah (moral message) contained in the story of the people of Prophet Shu'aib. The verses that discuss the story of the people of Madyan are QS. al-A'raf 85-94, QS. Hud 84-94, QS. asy-Syu'ara' 176-191 and QS. al-Ankabut 36-37 using ath-Thabari's interpretation. The purpose of this study is to examine and review the interpretation of the verses of the Qur'an containing the story of the people of Prophet Shu'aib from the perspective of Jāmi' al-Bayān Fī Ta'wīl Al-Qur'ān by Imam  Ath-Thabari and to explore the moral aspects of the story of the people of  Madyan. This research is classified as library research related to library studies, focusing on the character of the people of Madyan. Thus, the conclusion shows that the story of the people of Prophet Shu'aib contains lessons that can be used as life lessons, namely positive characters such as honesty and justice, belief in the truth, tolerance, and humility.

Abstract

Tulisan ini mengkaji dan mengkritik pemikiran filsafat sejarah Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel melalui pendekatan pascakolonial, dengan studi kasus kolonialisme Belanda di Jawa pasca Perang Diponegoro (1825–1830). Dalam filsafat sejarah Hegel, sejarah dipahami sebagai proses dialektika progresif menuju kebebasan yang diklaim bersifat universal. Namun, Hegel secara eksplisit mengecualikan bangsa-bangsa Timur dari garis sejarah dunia karena dianggap belum mencapai kesadaran rasional. Narasi ini bersifat euro-sentris dan berperan dalam melegitimasi proyek kolonialisme modern. Dalam konteks Jawa, realitas pasca-Perang Diponegoro menunjukkan bahwa kolonialisme justru menghapus struktur sosial, budaya, dan kekuasaan lokal, tanpa menghadirkan kebebasan sebagaimana diklaim dalam kerangka Hegelian. Dengan menggunakan teori orientalisme Edward Said, tulisan ini membongkar bagaimana representasi kolonial turut menciptakan konstruksi wacana yang menempatkan masyarakat Jawa sebagai entitas irasional dan inferior. Sebagai respons, pemikiran sejarah Ibnu Khaldun dihadirkan sebagai tawaran epistemologi alternatif. Melalui konsep ‘ashabiyah dan ‘ilm al-‘umrān, Khaldun memandang sejarah sebagai proses sosial yang bersifat siklikal dan berbasis solidaritas kolektif. Dengan demikian, tulisan ini menawarkan pembacaan ulang sejarah dunia non-Barat yang lebih adil dan membuka ruang bagi dekolonisasi pengetahuan historis.
